Boomshine Blowout
Vic turns forklift driver as he attempts to rescue Phil's highly explosive Boomshine from a warehouse fire.
Vic walks into Phil's warehouse to find him face down on the floor. "I'm not drunk. I'm just resting my eyes".
Phil explains his boomshine is about to get blown sky high by a bunch of angry scumbags. The Cholos are gonna blow up his liquor and there's so much of it at the warehouse one match'll blow it all the way to Tennessee.
Vic tells him they'll deal with it, but Phil lies on his back and tells 'Vicky boy' his daddy was an angry man. "He never, ever told me I was special. In fact - he used to beat me. Especially when he caught me staring at my cousin or my sister". "He said to me I'd be better off dead". "How exactly is this helping?" asks Vic. "The tragedy of it is, I'm just like him - I'm a drunk. I deserve to die! It should have been me instead of Zack on hill 491 man".
Phil falls onto his back and exclaims "I'm coming home daddy" but Vic walks away telling him he's pathetic.
Outside, we see Phil back on his feet getting into his truck. You're told to get inside too.
You'll now need to take Phil to the warehouse, marked with a pink blip on the radar, in Little Havana.
When you arrive, drive through the pink marker into an alleyway which will lead you to the back of the warehouse.
Park up in the pink marker near the rear doors in another pink marker.
Phil gets out of the truck, telling Vic he could have sworn he locked this place up. As he walks over to the door, Vic shouts out "Phil, don't open the...".
Too late, a huge explosion goes off as Phil opens the door and he's knocked to the floor while shouting "DADDDDDDDDDY!!!!!!".
Luckily he's fine and gets straight back up, probably immune to damage from all of the alcohol already in his system. Vic runs into the warehouse to help as Phil blames the scheming Cholo bastards for booby-trapping his place.
The camera cuts to some stacked crates of his liquor as he says "ain't no use running... When that Boomshine blows, we're all gonna die!".
We then spot a forlkift truck and Vic tells Phil to get a grip. "I'll get your damn liquor".
Phil says he'll back the truck up to the door while Vic loads her up.
Inside the warehouse you'll be told to get on the forklift, marked by a blue blip on the radar. It's bright yellow and right in front of you so you can't miss it.
Once on board, a 'Heat' meter is displayed on the screen. This will increase naturally over time, but it will also increase quicker if you hold the Boomshine near the fires around the warehouse.
The camera is fixed in position at the South end of the warehouse and your objective is to drive the forklift to the South-East side where you'll find four crates of Boomshine, marked with green arrows. You can control the forklift forks with the left and right D-Pad buttons on PSP, left raises them and right lowers them. I believe it's D-Pad Up and Down on PS2. They'll have to be in the lower position to pick up a crate, but you'll then need to raise them to put it on the truck.
There are four separate routes you'll need to take as each time you deliver a crate, part of the warehouse collapses, blocking the easiest route you would have taken.
At first you'll just head directly to the right / East. Pick up the Southern-most crate by driving into it with the forks in the lower position and you'll be told to load the Boomshine onto the truck. Once you've picked it up, raise the forks ready for delivery. Reverse back and turn around and you'll find Phil's truck at the South-West of the warehouse. Drive towards the back of the truck and if the forks are up, the screen will fade to black as you deliver the crate.
You can't head directly East to the crates now as that route is blocked off, so you'll need to head North through the gap, pass 2 shelves then head East and go through the gap. You'll find the Boomshine to the South. Remember to lower your forks so you can pick it up, then reverse back, turn around and go back the way you came to drop it off at the truck.
You can't follow the route from before any more, so you'll need to head North, then immediately West, loop around the shelf and head East all of the way to the end. Once again the Boomshine will be found at the South. Pick it up and head back this way to the truck. When you're driving the forklift, be careful not to dangle the boomshine over the orange flames or your heat meter will rapidly increase.
The route you took last time is blocked now, so you've got to go the long way to the Boomshine. Ideally you should be on around 50% Heat which is plenty of time.
Head North, then West and loop around the shelf to the East. When you can, go North, pass 2 shelves which will take you to the back of the warehouse, then head East to the end. The final Boomshine crate is down at the South. Pick it up, then come back the way you came and drop it off at the truck.
This is a bit of a pain because the forklift isn't much smaller than the gaps you've got to drive through, so you might need to do a bit of reversing back and forth to improve your angle in order to get through.
Mission Passed!
You'll appear on the street across the road from the warehouse after the mission.
Vic will receive a pager message from his Aunt telling him his brother hasn't been doing his chores.
For those of you interested, if you fail to rescue all of the Boomshine before the heat meter fills, you'll see a special cutscene before you die and fail the mission...
