King Courtney tells Mike he wasn't responsible for Jonnie's death, but needs him to drive in a race.
| Mike | Tell me why I don't just shoot you now? You're the goon that took out a friend of mine - the bartender. I tracked you here all the way from Portland. |

| King Courtney | Easy, mon. Don't go spreading accusations about King Courtney when you don't know the deal. Yes, it was my men who went to the bartender's pad to collect some money owed to me but they're no murderers. When they got there, they found the man dead and came back here. Easy, mon, and tell me who you are. |
| Mike | The name's Mike. Now tell me more so I can believe you. |
| King Courtney | I want to find the bastards as much as you do. Whatever money the bartender had was stolen. That's my money and I want it back. Do some favors for me and I'll help you track down the murderer. I have a prime opportunity for you. My normal driver has a bullet hole in his head - just before the most important race of the season, mon! It's against the Yakuza - the driver's a bit crazy and may try to ram you. The race happens on the walk-to-work day so there won't be much traffic around. If you do well, we'll shut the city down and let you drive a real formula one racing car! |
Once Mike is back on foot, he has a few thoughts on the situation.
| Mike | Hmm, formula one race, not what I expected but hey, maybe I'll get one of the babes to sit on my hood afterwards. |

Make your way to the parked car nearby which you will be using for the race.
If you've taken part in street races before, particularly the ones in Portland, you should know what to expect. There are checkpoints scattered around the map which are triggered one at a time. You need to drive through the blue 'gates' in order to collect them. The checkpoint gates can be quite small, so it's not just a case of following the road, you'll actually need to be in the right lane on the right side of the road for most of them and physically touch them.
You've got 4 minutes to get around the track, and a damage meter. There'll be a car chasing you that will literally just keep ramming into you whenever it gets the chance, so you need to try to lose it. The track itself isn't very difficult, just keep an eye on the radar to see where the next checkpoint is.
Depending how quickly you finish the race will affect the rest of the mission.
If you take more than 3 minutes to finish (under 1 minute remaining), King Courtney will tell you not to give up your day job.
| King Courtney | You're not a bad driver mon, but you're not ready for the big leagues. Keep your day job of hustling and do some pimping on the side! |

If you do manage to finish the race with over 1 minute remaining, King Courtney will be impressed and will offer you the opportunity to take part in another race, this time with a Formula One car!
| King Courtney | You're a qualifier, mon! You're ready for stepping it up and being a real race driver. Come back to my headquarters and I'll put the word to you. |

You'll then receive a pager message telling you to get back to King Courtney's headquarters as soon as possible. From this point a timer will appear and you'll have 30 seconds to get back, exit your vehicle and run into the blue circle on foot.
| King Courtney | Mon... the pressure is high, higher than what I'm used to! We've got a formula one Jamaican driver coming in tomorrow for the Staunton Grand Prix. I need you to test drive his car for him. The faster, the better! |

| Mike | Sure thing, King. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'd be crazy to turn it down. It's automatic, right? |
| King Courtney | There are buttons on the wheel just like a computer game. Get on with your bad self! |
You'll now need to get into a Formula One car and complete a second race. There's a 4 minute timer for this one but the track is a bit easier as it essentially loops around the outside of Staunton Island. There are 2 laps to complete, but there's no traffic so it's all about making sure you don't miss any checkpoints.
Once again, use our map below to give you a sneak preview of where the checkpoints are placed and which side of the road you need to be on to grab them.
Depending on how quickly you finish the race will affect the final cutscene of the mission. If you flew around the track and finished with at least 40 seconds remaining, King Courtney will be very impressed.
| King Courtney | I don't believe it, mon! You're the fastest driver ever. Living life in the fast lane, you're keeping everybody high with happiness. |

If you finish a little bit slower, with at least 20 seconds remaining, King Courtney is still relatively happy.
| King Courtney | You're blazing fast, mon. Smoking red! The ladies are shouting your name, Mike! Mike! |

If you finish with less than 20 seconds remaining, King Courtney is less impressed however.
| King Courtney | You're a little slow in the turning, mon. You've got to ease up, not freeze up and put the pedal down! |

Either way, once the 2nd race is done, or if you didn't even get to attempt it because you were too slow on the first one, the mission will be completed.
Mission Passed!
Mike will receive a pager message from King Courtney after the mission telling him to get back to his pad so he can help him out with some Colombian coffee.
- Reward: $10,000 - $30,000
- You'll receive the lower award for completing the first race with a slow time. If you finish the first race with over 1 minute remaining you'll unlock the second race with the Formula One car which will award $30,000 instead.
