Love Of Money
8-Ball tells Mike he just survived an attempt on his life and more people are heading to take them down.
As you head to the mission start point, you'll once again see the floor littered with dead bodies.
Walk into the blue circle to start the mission.
8-Ball | Listen, man. I'm sorry I couldn't warn you about Vinnie sooner but I've been on the run soon after Vinnie's bombing. I just found out myself from the goons Vinnie sent to take me out. You may have seen them on your way in. |
---|---|
Mike | Yeah, I saw the dead bodies out front. It's good to see you, 8-Ball. I'm glad they weren't able to take you down. |
8-Ball | You too, man. But this isn't over yet, I think there'll be more people gunnin' for you. The word's out that you took down Vinnie and that you've got his money. |
Mike | But Vinnie squandered most of it! I only got a hundred g's - not worth turning these streets into a blood bath! |
8-Ball | It doesn't matter what the facts are, it's what people believe, man. Now you're on top of their list, and gangs like the Cartel, and the... what the hell's that noise? |
All of a sudden an explosion occurs and a bunch of gangsters attack the place. Outside, 8-Ball is knocked down.
Cartel Boss | You're going to pay for killing Cisco! He treated you like a son and had high hopes of educating you in fashion sense and the merits of giving driver licenses to illegals! This is how you repay him? |
---|---|
Mike | It wasn't me! When I came back to the scene, he was already dead. |
Cartel Boss | I don't believe you and neither do my men. Prepare to die! |
You've got 2 minutes to kill all of the enemies in the area. There are about 10 of them and they have a fair amount of health. They'll take a few blasts from a shotgun, but a good weapon for this mission is a flamethrower which can help keep them off you.
You'll now have a 4 minute timer and another wave of enemies to take out. They'll appear from all angles, so the safest way to take them out is to stay near the buildings and force them to run down the alleyways straight towards you.
A shotgun or flamethrower are great weapons to take them out quickly.
There's some health behind the restaurant just to the South if you need it and some Body Armor to the North of the compound.
A bunch more enemies will head towards you. If you stick in the alleyways alongside the buildings they'll be much easier to pick off and you'll avoid a lot of damage.
Another wave of heavily armed enemies will swarm in, but they go down fairly quickly if you let them get close and blast away with a shotgun.
The health and armor picks have probably respawned if you need to pick them up.
One final wave of enemies will attack, but following the same tactics, you should be able to get through them without any major drama.
Remember to use the buildings for cover and shoot the enemies as they come around the corner.
Once there's a few remaining, head around the compound to mop up the final enemies.
Mike heads outside of the restaurant, leaving 8-Ball behind.
You now have a wanted level and need to get rid of it.
There are two choices. You can either grab a non-police vehicle and get to the nearby Pay 'n' Spray, or you can head to your hideout which is also pretty close by. If you've completed at least 10 Vigilante missions you'll be able to use the Police Bribes in your Hideout Items to clear the wanted level - which is what I chose to do.
Mission Passed!
After the mission, there's no pager message from a contact, but you'll be told to track down the cartel boss. You'll need a vehicle to start the next mission, so take one with you.
