Dirty Laundry
The Mafia want Mike to take out Federico, a drug dealer who's been using more of their product than he's been selling.
Vinnie | The guys upstairs say they could use a hand with a small-time pusher named Federico. He's been using more of their product than selling it which is bad for business. Take him out and the Mafia will help us. |

Mike | Okay, Vinnie. You're the boss. I probably ought to carry some heat. |
Vinnie | Yeah, you're right. Here's some dough to purchase a pistol. Head over to Ammu-Nation and tell 'em I sent you - No way you'd pass the background check with your record... |
After the opening cutscene you'll be given some money and told to go to Ammu-Nation for some heat.
Make your way to the gun store, following the blip on the map, then once you arrive, enter the shop by standing in the blue marker.
The shop is actually just a menu you'll navigate to purchase items, so scroll through the options and buy a pistol. Unless you've earned money from elsewhere, that's probably all you'll be able to afford at this point. Other weapons available are a Bat, Shotgun and UZ-I, with Body Armor for protection.
The game will then explain how your weapon inventory works and how you can change weapons by pressing the select button, or scroll through them back and forth by holding the select button and pressing L to scroll left, or R to scroll right.
You're also told that once a weapon, or fists are selected, you can use the A button to attack.
You can also attack while strafing. This is a very useful and important feature which you should use whenever you're in combat. Strafing allows you to move Mike without him changing the direction he's facing. Aim towards a group of enemies then hold the R button and Mike will continue to aim in that direction while you can move him to avoid bullets and enemy attacks.
Finally, the game will explain that you can sprint for short distances by holding down the B button. Once you're tired, Mike will need to rest for several seconds before he has the energy to sprint again. Completing the Paramedic missions to Level 12 will unlock Infinite Sprint which is very useful.
This is the first time you'll have to fight an enemy in the game, so you're instructed to head to the red dot on the radar where you'll find Federico.
As you arrive in the area, Mike will speak with Federico.
Federico is armed with a bat which can knock you down if he hits you, but he can't hurt you while you're on the floor. If this happens just try to run away when you get up. Remember to hold the R button to strafe and either shoot him if you acquired a pistol, or hit him with a bat or fists until he goes down.
Mission Passed!
Immediately after the mission, you'll receive a pager message from Vinnie telling you to come back to the restaurant to secure some transport.
You'll also be told that you can now compete in Street Races to earn some extra money. There are 6 Races on each island and the ones on Portland can be found to the North of the map.
- Reward: $1000
- Street Races in Portland have now been unlocked. There are 6 to complete and they can be found at the checkered flag on the map.
- Mission Unlocked: Hot Wheels
