Grand Theft Auto IIIGTA III - Story Mission Guide

Kingdom Come

King Courtney needs Claude to collect a stash from an old car in Bedford Point.

Payphone Mission
This mission is marked on the map with a green phone icon. Stand in the blue marker next to the ringing payphone to trigger it.
Cutscene
Claude answers the payphone. King Courtney tells him to get over to Bedford Point because there's a stash in an old car he needs pronto.

Grab a vehicle and make your way to Bedford Point, towards the South of Staunton Island. You're given 1:30 to get there, so the quickest route is down the freeway at the West side of the island which will bring you out pretty much where you need to be.

Drive into the parking lot area where you'll find the marked car. Be warned, what follows is arguably one of the hardest missions in GTA 3...

Cutscene
After getting into the car, Claude discovers a letter. "I hear you've been a busy boy. Well I've been a busy girl. I think it's time you witnessed the real power of 'SPANK'! Besos y fuderes, Catalina, xxx. PS: DIE PEEG DOG, DIE!".
Soon after, three vans appear, blocking each of the exits, and out get SPANKED-up madmen wearing suicide bombs. The camera follows one of them as he runs towards the car before detonating himself.

You now need to destroy the three SPANK vans because the suicide bombers will keep spawning indefinitely until you do. This part of the mission can be very difficult, but there are two useful techniques to help.

The first, is to speed away in the parked car, go behind the van we saw in the cutscene, then loop around to the right where you'll find some stairs. You can then take out the vans from the rooftop in relative safety.

The other tactic, providing you arrive at the car park quickly enough before the 1:30 timer expires, is to park a large vehicle, like a van, next to one of the walls. As soon as the SPANKED-up madmen start charging towards you, get out of the vehicle, jump on top of the parked van and jump over the wall. You'll then be able to take them out without being blown up.

Once on top of the walls, you can jump over to other rooftops and make your way around the parking lot to discover a secret easter-egg sign left by the developers.

A rocket launcher is particularly useful for this mission, but you don't want to hang around in the parking lot if you can help it because one blast from a suicide bomber will knock you down and by the time you get up, there'll probably be more of them so you can die rather quickly.

Once the three vans and any remaining mad men are destroyed, you're in the clear.

Mission Passed!

Post-Mission
  • Reward: $10,000
  • You'll unlock a Trophy / Achievement called "A Gift from the King" on completion of the mission.
  • King Courtney's missions are now completed. You can replay Bling-Bling Scramble by revisiting his payphone which will continue to ring for the rest of the game.
