Grand Theft Auto IIIGTA III - Story Mission Guide

Uzi Rider

Published by Psy
Last Updated

King Courtney wants to know Claude can be trusted and wants him to take out some Diablos.

Payphone Mission
This mission is marked on the map with a green phone icon. Stand in the blue marker next to the ringing payphone to trigger it.
Cutscene
Claude answers the ringing payphone and hears the voice of King Courtney. Courney wants to see if Claude can be trusted and do his dirty work. Two of his Yardie boys will be there soon to take Claude for a ride to "see if you are who you say you are". Strangely enough, Claude hasn't said a single word in the whole game so far...
A short time later, a Perennial pulls up and two Yardies get out.
One of the men walks up to Claude, telling him "We're going for a little ride into Hepburn Heights, whack us some filthy Dialos been dissing Queen Lizzy". Claude's told he's doing the driving and the shooting, and the two Yardies are there to make sure he doesn't get cold feet. He's then given an Uzi before he climbs into the car with the two men.

You'll resume control inside the car with your objective marked on the map to head over to Portland and visit Hepburn Heights.

There's a few ways you can get there, either via the Callahan Bridge and through Chinatown and the Red Light District, which might be risky given you'll pass Triads and potentially Mafia who both hate you and will open fire. Otherwise you can head to the North of Staunton Island and go through the Porter Tunnel which will bring you out right near Hepburn Heights.

Either way, drive there without wrecking the car and when you reach Hepburn Heights, the Yardies will tell you to kill some filthy Diablos.

DRIVE BY or DRIVE OVER
Even though the mission is called Uzi Rider, you don't actually need to drive-by the Diablos to complete the mission. Running them over with the car will also count.

Make sure you drive fast enough to avoid the Diablos on foot because if they pull you out of the car, you'll have 5 seconds to get back in or the Yardies will fail the mission for you, and if you're surrounded by angry bat-wielding Diablos, the chances of getting up and back in within 5 seconds are very slim.

The Pay 'n' Spray is just around the corner so if the car gets damaged or you need to lose a wanted level, feel free to head there for a respray.

Once you've killed 10 Diablos, the Yardies will tell you to get them back to the Yard, so you'll need to make your way back to Staunton Island. If you have a wanted level, now is a good time to spray the car before you head back.

Once back on Staunton Island, park up near the multistory car park and let them out.

Cutscene
The Yardies get out and tell Claude he's the kinda man they like as friends.

Mission Passed!

Post-Mission
  • Reward: $10,000
  • The next mission is now unlocked, from the same payphone.
  • Mission Unlocked: Gangcar Round-Up
  • Following this mission, the Diablos are now hostile towards you and will attack on sight, meaning every gang in Portland now hates Claude!
