Unique Jumps

Map, screenshot and text locations of all 20 unique jumps, plus details on their landing locations in GTA 3's Liberty City.

GTA III includes stunt jump objectives which must be completed with a fast vehicle. Ultimately, the player must hit a ramp at speed and travel a certain distance, landing in a rough target zone. Successfully completing all 20 unique jumps is a requirement towards 100% completion.

Completing Unique Jumps

You'll know you're attempting a unique jump as the camera will lock into a cinematic viewpoint and show your jump in slow motion. The game will tell you if you were successful when you land.

Track Your Jumps
It's important to keep track of the jumps you've completed because doing them again won't tell you if they were successful the second time. This can cause some confusion if you don't know which jumps you've done already because you won't know if you failed the jump or you've already completed it.

Most jumps can be attempted in any vehicle, although the faster and smaller the vehicle the better. You won't always need to be traveling at full speed as it's sometimes possible to jump too far and miss the landing zone (or end up in the water and die), but in general you're going to want the fastest car you can find to ensure it has enough acceleration.

The best vehicles to choose are the Banshee, Cheetah, Stinger and Infernus, however many jumps can be completed in the Police car or a few of the gang vehicles too.

Most jumps can be completed without a completely smooth landing, such as by crashing into something, or even being upside down in the correct landing zone, but generally you should aim to land on all four wheels.

Vehicle At Risk
There's a very high chance of flipping your vehicle when attempting unique jumps. Cars in GTA 3 are very delicate and will roll over easily, catching fire and blowing up, so you may wish to save your vehicle and save your game at the nearest safehouse before attempting the jumps.

Unique Jump Rewards

Each successful jump will award the player with $5,000, and this is multiplied by the number of jumps completed in total. The first successful jump will award $5,000, the second will award $10,000, the third offers $15,000 and so on up to $100,000 for completing the 20th and final unique jump. Once all 20 jumps have been completed, the game will also award a bonus of $1,000,000.

Portland Unique Jumps

There are 8 unique jumps to complete in Portland. They are all accessible from the start of the game.

The fastest car in Portland is the Banshee and you can usually find one parked inside Easy Credit Autos at the North of the map.

Unique Jump #1

Found in Chinatown, jumping from South to North. There's a wooden ramp on the sidewalk that launches you just above the entrance to the subway towards the train tracks above.

Landing Target

Land on the L Train train tracks as they curve through the Red Light District.

Tips

You don't need extreme speed to complete this one. Starting half way down the street from the ramp should be enough. Hit it pretty much straight on and with enough speed to land on the train tracks above.

Unique Jump #2

Found in Chinatown, jumping from South to North. On the Western side of Portland, right next to the train station, is a large concrete ramp.

Landing Target

You need to clear the pedestrian walkway and land on the grass below for the jump to register, however crashing into the train tracks further to the North can also award the jump.

Tips

Drive South along the grass to the base of the Callahan Bridge then turn around and speed back along to the North to hit the ramp straight on. You actually don't want to hit this too fast as landing on top of the train tracks may not successfully complete the jump.

Unique Jump #3

Found in Portland Harbor, jumping from North to South. At the Southern end of Portland Harbor you'll see a wooden ramp set up to launch you over three parked trailers.

Landing Target

You want to land just after the final trailer, without hitting it on the way down.

Tips

You won't need a huge run up for this one. As soon as you land, slam on the brakes to avoid going into the water at the end of the harbor.

Unique Jump #4

Found in Atlantic Quays, jumping from East to West. A wooden ramp that leads over an empty yard and towards some warehouses.

Landing Target

Clear the yard and the first small warehouse, landing on the roof of the second, larger warehouse.

Tips

You can use the long pier to the East to get a long run up for this one, but you'll need to correct the steering and try to hit the ramp as straight as possible. The landing zone can be a bit fiddly so it might take a few tries to have it register.

Unique Jump #5

Found in Atlantic Quays, jumping from West to East. A dirt pile at the edge of the land which jumps a large gap over water.

Landing Target

Clear the water and land on concrete at the other side of Atlantic Quays.

Tips

This one needs a fair bit of speed if you want to complete it without drowning.

Unique Jump #6

Found in Trenton, jumping from East to West. A wooden ramp that jumps over a warehouse near the Callahan Bridge.

Landing Target

Completely clear the warehouse and land on the road at the other side. As long as you touch down before smashing into the wall, you should be good.

Tips

You'll want a fairly decent run up for this one, but avoiding the traffic is the hard part. Hit the ramp straight on and keep your fingers crossed you land just before crashing into the wall straight ahead.

Unique Jump #7

Found in Callahan Bridge, jumping from West to East. A grassy hill under the bridge, jumping towards the main road.

Landing Target

There are two support beams which you need to clear then land on the grass near the road.

Tips

You're going to need some speed for this one, so I strongly recommend the Banshee. Go as far back as you can, or even follow the curved road from Chinatown as long as you're able to turn and hit the ramp straight on in time. It's best to try this when it's not raining as you need the extra grip.

Unique Jump #8

Found in Callahan Bridge, jumping from West to East. A black and yellow ramp in the center of the actual Callahan Bridge.

Landing Target

Jump into the gap between the two lanes of the bridge and land on the grass below.

Tips

You don't need loads of speed for this one, but you do need to get lucky with your aim when you hit the ramp. Ideally you need to get through the gap and hit the grass on your wheels without touching the side of the bridge or any of the support beams on the way down. Might take a few tries.

Staunton Island Unique Jumps

There are 4 unique jumps to find and complete on Staunton Island. They're technically all accessible from the start of the game, although you'll need to access Staunton Island via a glitch before it's unlocked officially after completing "Last Requests".

Unique Jump #9

Found in Newport, jumping fromĀ North to South. A dirt ramp heading over a small gap, directly under the bridge.

Landing Target

Jump the small gap over the water and land on the other side of the docks.

Tips

You need to be very careful with this one. Too much speed and you'll overshoot the landing zone and end up in the water. Too little and you'll end up in the water between the docks. Use a fast car but don't go any further back than the screenshot below and maybe ease of the gas a bit before hitting the ramp.

Unique Jump #10

Found in Belleville Park, jumping from East to West. The stairs of a glass building make the launch pad for this one.

Landing Target

Cross the street and land in the alleyway behind the building.

Tips

The hardest part of this jump is getting a clean run to the ramp without vehicles driving in front of you. You could park a car nearby to block the street while you attempt it. Hit the ramp with as much speed as you can and you should be able to make it across the street with ease.

GTA 3 Unique Jump 10 1
GTA 3 Unique Jump 10 2
Unique Jump #11

Found in Newport, jumping from North-East to South-West. A grass mound between two billboards, hidden on the overpass next to the Callahan Bridge. Drive up the ramp to the central section of the road when heading South from Fort Staunton.

Landing Target

You'll need to clear the gap and land on the Callahan Bridge. Don't worry about clearing the billboards at the far side.

Tips

Someone decided to plant a tree right in the middle of your run up, so this one is pretty tricky to get enough speed. You're best off reversing in a perfectly straight line back from alongside the tree, then speed straight forward and you should make it past with enough speed to launch over and onto the bridge. Smashing into the billboards at the other side of the bridge will often be enough to award the jump.

GTA 3 Unique Jump 11 2
Unique Jump #12

Found in Newport, jumping from North to South. A small concrete ramp at the South-West corner on the top floor of the multi story car park.

Landing Target

Hit the ramp facing slightly to the right. You need to clear the street and land a fair way into the courtyard below.

Tips

This might take a few attempts to get this right as there are some obstacles preventing a smooth landing.

Shoreside Vale Unique Jumps

There are 8 unique jumps to find and complete in Shoreside Vale. They are all accessible once you have access to Shoreside Vale after completing "Grand Theft Aero" for Donald Love. It's also possible to access Shoreside Vale early using a glitch which allows the jumps to be completed from the start of the game.

Unique Jump #13

Found in Francis Intl. Airport, jumping from East to West. Shortly after smashing the barrier to gain access to the airport runways, you'll see a staircase set up next to a plane facing the hangars.

Landing Target

Clear the plane and land on the tarmac on the other side. Landing on the wing of the next plane can occasionally work too.

Tips

This one is fairly straight forward. You've got a good clean run up, just reverse back from the stairs so you're hitting it perfectly straight.

Unique Jump #14

Found in Francis Intl. Airport, jumping from South to North. A yellow and white striped ramp at the North-East corner of the airport, heading over a small rounded hangar.

Landing Target

Clear the round-roofed hangar and land on the tarmac on the other side.

Tips

You'll need quite a bit of speed for this, but there's plenty of space for a long run up. I always hit the central ramp, but it's possible all 3 will do the job.

Unique Jump #15

Found in Francis Intl. Airport, jumping from West to East. A yellow and white striped ramp at the near the Eastern end of the main runway, heading over another small rounded hangar.

Landing Target

Clear the round-roofed hangar and land on the grass on the other side.

Tips

Once again, you'll need quite a bit of speed, but there's plenty of space for a long run up. I always hit the central ramp, but it's possible all 3 will do the job. There are a bunch of parked helicopters on the other side which you might crash into, but more often than not, clearing the roof will award the jump.

Unique Jump #16

Found in Francis Intl. Airport, jumping from West to East. A yellow and white striped ramp, heading over another small rounded hangar.

Landing Target

Clear the round-roofed hangar and land on the grass on the other side.

Tips

Probably easiest to hit this directly after completing the previous jump, but take off from the middle ramp with some speed and you'll clear the roof and land safely on the other side.

GTA 3 Unique Jump 16 1
GTA 3 Unique Jump 16 2
Unique Jump #17

Found in Wichita Gardens, jumping from South to North. At the end of the dirt track is a broken bridge.

Landing Target

Clear the river and land on the road in Wichita Gardens.

Tips

It's pretty difficult to land this one on your wheels given the angle you'll take off, but it does seem to register even if you're upside down as you hit the ground. You don't need huge amounts of speed, but you're still better off attempting this in a fast car.

GTA 3 Unique Jump 17 1
GTA 3 Unique Jump 17 2
Unique Jump #18

Found in Cochrane Dam, jumping from East to West. A grassy hill at the corner of the road, leading across the river to the lower dam area a long way below.

Landing Target

Clear the river and land on the road of the lower dam.

Tips

If you have too much speed, depending on the angle you hit the ramp you might actually not be credited with this jump, which can be a pain given how far you'll have to drive to attempt it again, so I recommend saving your game and your fast car at the Shoreside Vale safehouse before trying. It might take a few tries to work out the best approach and angle, but hitting the road somewhere at the bottom of the hill on the other side usually works.

GTA 3 Unique Jump 18 2
Unique Jump #19

Found in Pike Creek, jumping from West to East. A small wooden ramp resting on a shipping container.

Landing Target

Clear the fence and land in a small yard behind the import / export garage, where there's another wooden ramp to escape the area.

Tips

This one can be quite tricky as you'll need to angle yourself slightly to the left as you hit the ramp to make your way to the yard below. You don't need to be at top speed, but definitely take a decent sized run up.

GTA 3 Unique Jump 19 1
GTA 3 Unique Jump 19 2
Unique Jump #20

Found in Pike Creek, jumping from North to South. Another wooden ramp resting on a shipping container.

Landing Target

Clear the street below and land on the roof of the 2nd row of garages behind the police station.

Tips

Line yourself up with the ramp then reverse back in a straight line so you can speed towards it. Hit it straight and you should comfortably clear the road and hit the roof of the police station garage. You might need to ease off the gas so you don't jump too far.
