Import / Export
Information on how to complete the three import/export lists, and tips on where to track down the required vehicles in GTA 3's Liberty City.
One of the most relevant objectives for a game called Grand Theft Auto is to steal cars. There are three separate import / export lists to complete, but the game will never actually introduce you to them through the story, so you'll need to track them down yourself.
Delivering Vehicles
The game doesn't tell you that you're driving a required vehicle, so it's up to you to keep track of the ones you need. The two import / export garages do however feature a list of vehicles on a board outside their entrance, which are marked off as vehicles are delivered, so you'll know which ones you've already exported.
Once you've acquired a wanted vehicle, make your way to the relevant location to deliver it. For garage-based vehicles, you can drive up to the main garage door and it will open for you to drive inside. Park the car in the warehouse then exit via the main door to receive your reward. For the emergency vehicle crane, you simply park the vehicle on the marked yellow lines by the crane and wait for the magnet to pick it up and move it to the nearby ship.
Most vehicles can be found naturally driving around the streets. Some vehicles will only spawn on certain islands and a few only have a limited number of fixed spawn points so you'll have to bring that exact vehicle back.
Vehicle Export Rewards
Each list offers slightly different rewards.
- Portland - Docks Garage: Each vehicle exported will award $1,000 cash, with a $200,000 bonus for completing the entire list.
- Portland - Emergency Vehicle Crane: Each vehicle exported will award $1,500 cash, with a $200,000 bonus for completing the entire list.
- Shoreside Vale - Pike Creek Garage: Each vehicle exported will award $1,000 cash, with a $200,000 bonus for completing the entire list.
Once each export list is completed, you'll also be able to "import" any of the vehicles for free. A number of "GTA III" icons will appear inside the completed garage, each containing a vehicle's name and collecting it will spawn the desired vehicle inside the garage, giving you easy access to all of the vehicles you've delivered.
Import / Export Vehicles Map
Click below to view our import / export vehicle locations map. Only fixed spawns for the vehicles are shown, and generally only the closest spawn to the relevant garage. Many vehicles can spawn randomly in car parks around the map and most will be found driving around in regular traffic.
Portland Harbor: Import Export Garage
There is a warehouse in the Northern part of Portland Harbor which wants a variety of industrial and commercial vehicles, primarily vans and trucks.
Blista
The Blista usually only spawns in Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale. You probably won't be able to find or deliver it until later in the story. In very rare cases, it may appear as a burning vehicle during the Firefighter missions in Portland and can sometimes spawn in or near Easy Credit Autos at the North of Portland (in the Definitive Edition only). Otherwise, you'll find plenty of them driving around Belleville Park and Newport which you'll have to drive over the bridge to deliver. There's a fixed spawn near Asuka's condo on Staunton Island.
Flatbed
The flatbed doesn't have a fixed spawn, so if you see one driving around, I suggest you grab it and deliver it as soon as you can. Not to be confused with the Barracks OL which looks quite similar. You'll often find these driving around the usual industrial locations, particularly through Chinatown and Trenton.
Dodo
The Dodo only spawns at the airport in Shoreside Vale. Officially you're going to need to be about 90% of the way through the story before you can get hold of one, although you could deliver it early if you exploit the tunnel glitch and fly it back, If you're no good at the awkward flying controls (where you essentially have to constantly dive and glide to stay airborne), you'll have to carefully and slowly drive it all the way back across all three islands to the garage in Portland.
Trashmaster
Another vehicle with no fixed spawn, but they do appear on the streets more often in the Definitive Edition than they did in the original game. Again, you'll occasionally see these in Chinatown and around the docks. If you're really struggling to find one, they can show up as a burning vehicle in the Firefighter missions.
Bus
Unlike the Coach, the Bus doesn't have a fixed spawn and they tend to be quite rare, so if you see one driving around Chinatown, or near the Callahan Bridge, grab it and deliver it as soon as possible. If you're struggling to find one, they seem to be more common around the stadium on Staunton Island.
Mr Whoopee
In the original PS2 game, the Mr. Whoopee was extremely rare. The only way to find one was practically by getting lucky in the Firefighter missions and having one appear as a burning vehicle. Thankfully their spawn rate has massively increased in The Definitive Edition and you can find them driving around all over the place. Listen out for the jingle as you'll definitely hear one before you see it.
Pony
There are a few locations where the Pony will spawn, as well as being seen randomly driving around most roads. Originally there was a spawn point just past the breakable fence to the North-West of the Import / Export garage, but if it doesn't show up in the Definitive Edition, there can often be one found parked across the road from Joey's garage, in a car park in Trenton.
Portland Harbor: Emergency Vehicle Crane
East of the garage is a stack of shipping containers near a large ship. If you park one of the requested vehicles on the yellow marked box in front of the containers, a crane will appear and take the vehicles away, putting them on the ship. You'll need to deliver one of every special emergency vehicle to this crane which isn't really possible until you've unlocked Shoreside Vale and the ability to earn a 6-star wanted level.
There's no physical list for the emergency vehicles, so you'll need to remember which ones you've exported.
Ambulance
Found parked outside all hospitals in the game. I believe there's a 30% chance they will be locked, so if you can't get into it, drive a fair distance away and come back and hopefully the new one which spawns will be unlocked. Otherwise leave a few dead bodies lying around and one will show up.
Barracks OL
The Barracks OL will only appear when you have a six star wanted level. There are two parked at Phil's surplus gun store at the North of Staunton Island but they'll be locked unlocked until after the story is completed. The easiest way to get hold of one is to complete the Vigilante missions on all 3 islands so you have 6 police bribes at your hideout, hang around at your hideout and get a 6-star wanted level, then quickly kill the soldiers when they get out. Use the police bribes to clear your wanted level then jump in the truck. The problem with 6-star wanted levels is lots of Rhino tanks will also chase you and they can end up blowing up the Barracks OL's so it might take a bit of time to get one. Although it's a bit further to deliver, the Staunton Island hideout might be a safer location given the tight alleyway at the entrance.
Enforcer
The Enforcer will spawn and chase you at a four star wanted level, so you won't see one before you've unlocked Staunton Island. There is one permanently available from behind the police station in Staunton Island which is probably easier than having to steal one with 4 stars. You'll need to use a police vehicle to get the gate to open, but there's usually a police car parked in the lot nearby.
FBI Car
The FBI Car only appears when you have a five star wanted level, and it has four AK-47 wielding agents inside who can turn you into mince meat pretty quickly. You're probably best off following a similar technique to the Barracks OL (above) and lure them back to your hideout where you can use a Molotov Cocktail to take out the agents when they get out of the vehicle, then police bribes to lose the wanted level. The car won't explode from being set on fire once, but the agents won't survive. You can always park it in your garage and let the door close to heal it before taking it to the crane.
Firetruck
You'll find a Firetruck parked outside each fire department in the game. Portland's is to the North of the island, across the road from the gas station. It doesn't spawn all of the time, so if it's not there, you should drive a fair distance away and come back. Alternatively, they will show up if you throw a few Molotov Cocktails. Killing the tramps in the tunnel behind the Supa Save! can give you some ammo if you need it.
Police
You'll always find a Police car parked outside of police stations across all three islands, however they can be locked, so you might need to drive around the block and check again to see if an unlocked one has spawned. You'll see them driving around the streets, but you can't just jack the driver as they're locked and you'll get a wanted level, although if you attempt to jack them, the cop will get out and chase you, so run away then when he gets out to chase you, loop back around and steal it. Otherwise they'll come after you when you have a one-star wanted level so you can easily dispose of the cops and take their abandoned vehicle.
Rhino
There's one which permanently spawns at Phil's army surplus store at the North of Staunton Island, however it's locked until after the story is completed. The only other way you'll get one is by earning a six-star wanted level. Follow a similar technique to the Barracks OL (outlined above) and lure them back to your hideout with a 6-star wanted level, then throw a Molotov at it. While they're bullet, collision damage and explosion proof, they can still be damaged with fire, so one Molotov or a quick blast from a flamethrower will get the soldier out. Kill him with bullets, then use your police bribes to lose the wanted level and it should be yours for the taking. The Rhino won't blow up from being set on fire once, but don't light it up twice or you risk losing it.
Shoreside Vale: Pike Creek Garage
At the North of Pike Creek, near the entrance to the upper dam, you'll find a garage with a sign on the wall listing vehicles. This time they're more high end vehicles including a number of sports cars. Thankfully many of the vehicles on this list will actually drive right past the garage, so you won't have to go far to find them.
Sentinel
There's one which spawns permanently at Marco's Bistro in Saint Marks (Portland), however that's a long drive and there's a huge risk of being blown up by the Mafia. You'll occasionally find one spawning in the large car park at the airport in Shoreside Vale, or simply driving around Pike Creek near the Import / Export garage.
Perennial
A very common sight across most roads in the game. It does have a few permanent spawns, such as by Easy Credit Autos, or just South of the police station in Portland, however you're more likely just to see one drive past the Import / Export garage in Shoreside Vale. Don't go too far out of your way to find one as it'll show up soon.
Cheetah
You'll find these driving around Belleville Park on Staunton Island, or near the airport at the South of Pike Creek in Shoreside Vale. They might even appear round the block from the Import / Export garage, but there's a permanent spawn in front of one of the most Eastern houses in Cedar Grove.
Manana
Another vehicle that appears commonly around the map. Check around the block from the Import / Export garage in Shoreside Vale or look in the airport car park. If all else fails, you can usually find one in the underground car park in central Staunton Island, but you're more likely to encounter one driving around Pike Creek.
Landstalker
There's a permanent Landstalker next to the pond in Belleville Park (Staunton Island), which triggers the checkpoint mission 'A Ride In The Park'. There's also one parked in front of a garage at one of the central houses in Cedar Grove. They're common in Staunton and Shoreside Vale so you'll probably find one driving around.
Infernus
Similar to the Cheetah and Stinger, they'll spawn in traffic in Southern Pike Creek. There's one parked in the airport car park but it's often locked so you might have to come back to it a few times before you can get in. If you're still struggling, check out Belleville Park near the hideout on Staunton Island as they're pretty common there.
Stallion
The Stallion can be found driving around all over the place. They're pretty common and regularly spawn in random car parks but you should be able to find one inside the multi story car park in Staunton Island, or in the small car park near a cliff North of the Shoreside Vale safe house if you're having trouble. You're quite likely to see one drive past the Import / Export garage in Shoreside Vale so don't go too far out of your way to look for one.
Kuruma
The first car you'll ever drive in GTA 3! There are a few permanent spawns, including outside Greasy Joe's Cafe under the Callahan Bridge in Portland, at the Portland Harbor parking lot and at Momma's Restaurante in Saint Marks, but you're likely to just see one driving around anywhere, so keep your eyes peeled.
