BMX Exploit - Get To Other Islands Early!

In GTA Vice City Stories, it's possible to use a glitch / exploit to gain access to other islands early. There are some benefits to this which can make the story missions slightly easier as it allows you to pop the 99 red balloons, unlocking powerful weapons at your hideout. You can also complete a number of side missions earning plenty of cash before playing through the story.

Step 1: Grab the BMX

There's a parked BMX in Little Haiti, not far from Escobar International Airport. It's at the corner of the road just North from Sunshine Autos and you'll see it sitting on the sand in front of a building.

Step 2: Head to Starfish Island

Ride the BMX to Starfish Island, along the road to the East and into the entrance to Diaz's mansion.

Step 3: Ride The Bridge

As soon as you enter Diaz's mansion gardens, continue heading East. You'll see the bridge is closed, however if you ride right next to the wall, leaning to the left so Vic Vance tilts his head towards the wall, you'll discover that the tiny piece of the bridge which is sticking out can be ridden on.

Keep holding X to pedal and the left stick to the left and Vic will ride up the slanted bridge and down the other side, picking up speed as gravity takes over on the other side. You'll pass a loading screen so you'll know it's working.

Eventually you'll crash into an invisible wall which will probably knock you off the BMX and you'll lose a tiny bit of health, but the important thing is you've made it to Vice City Beach.

Step 4: Steal A Helicopter

Make your way to the police station which is essentially directly East of your position and head to the back of the building.

You'll see there are some stairs leading up to the roof where you'll not only discover a parked VCPD Maverick, but a Laser Sniper Rifle waiting to be collected too.

Get into the helicopter and you can fly anywhere on the map, unlocking the ability to discover and pop all 99 red balloons to earn weapon pickups at your safehouses, plus a bunch of other side missions that can help with general gameplay.

This trick will work every time, so if you ever lose the helicopter, you can do it over to get a new one.

You'll respawn back at the Mainland hospital if you die while in Vice City Beach.
