Ride shotgun on the back of a bike as you take down enemies across 3 drive-by challenges in GTA Liberty City Stories.

There are three 'on-rails' drive-by challenges in GTA Liberty City Stories. All three missions are technically available after completing the intro mission "Home Sweet Home". There are two in Portland and one on Shoreside Vale, however using a glitch - ironically from one of these very missions - to reach the other islands early allows all 3 challenges to be attempted at the start of the game.

Heavy Bike Exploit - Get To Other Islands Early!
In GTA Liberty City Stories, it's possible to get from Portland to Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale at the start of the game courtesy of an exploit in the '9mm Mayhem' side mission.

To start the missions, you'll need to find a parked bike and climb on board. There's a Freeway down an alley in the Red Light District, a Faggio in an alley in Chinatown and an Angel behind one of the projects towers in Upper Wichita Gardens.

Time Limits & Rules

The time will count down after starting each mission, but you'll be rewarded with a time boost after each kill.

Toni is given a specific weapon with infinite ammo throughout the mission.

The mission ends if the bike driver dies, or if the bike's damage meter fills up leading to the bike exploding, however dying in this way doesn't force Toni to the hospital, it simply ends the mission and he is respawned near the start point.

There is a target score for each mission which must be bettered in order to pass the challenge.

Once you've beaten the target score, you're free to kill your driver in order to end the mission, otherwise it will continue until you run out of time or are killed.

Tips

You're given 3 Adrenaline pills which can be used on the mission. They do not replenish, so you should only use them when absolutely necessary. When using them, the game is put into slow motion making it easier to aim.

9MM Mayhem

The first 2 targets are enemies driving around on PCJ-600 motorcycles. They don't pose any threat and are easy to take out. You can either shoot at the bike and eventually blow it up, or aim directly for the driver which will kill him quicker.

Levels 3 & 4 feature Yardie Lobos with no enemies meaning it's just a case of blowing up the car to complete them.

Level 5 & 6 are the first levels where the enemies will shoot back. You're tasked with taking down Stingers containing a driver and one gunman wielding an MP5.

Level 7 & 8 continues the trend except this time you're against two Bobcats with a driver and a gunman, again with an MP5.

Level 9 is a Bobcat again, however this time the gunman has an AK-47 which can cause quite a lot of damage. It's always important to try to kill the gunman first, then worry about destroying the car.

Level 10 & 11 feature a Patriot with a gunman wielding an M4.

After killing the 11th target, you're free to end the mission by killing your driver.

The first 2 targets are enemies driving around in Mr Whoopee ice cream vans. They don't pose any threat and are easy to take out. Shoot away until they blow up.

Levels 3 & 4 feature Stingers with a gunman who will fire back with an MP5.

Level 5, 6 & 7 feature Cartel Cruisers, each with a gunman wielding an AK-47.

Level 8, 9 & 10 have Landstalkers with an AK-47 gunman as the target.

After killing the 10th target, you're free to end the mission by killing your driver.

The first 2 targets are Securicars with no shooters. They don't pose any threat and are easy to take out. Shoot away until they blow up.

Level 5 & 6 feature Landstalkers with an M4 wielding gunman.

Level 7, 8 & 9 ramp up the difficulty and feature a Patriot with 2 gunmen on board, both armed with an AK-47s.

Level 10 & 11 are a lot more challenging, with the target being Barracks OL trucks containing an MP5 gunmen and two M4 gunmen.

After killing the 11h target, you're free to end the mission by killing your driver.
