Grand Theft Auto IV Trophy / Achievement Guide

INTRODUCTION
This is my first guide here at www.iGrandTheftAuto.com, so it may be a bit vague. But I will try my best to make it as clear as possible and tell you exactly what you need to know.

Here I have gathered all the information on the easiest way to get certain trophy/achievements.

WARNING
Be aware that cheating, using the cheat codes will disable some of the achievements, so please make sure you keep your save files separate to avoid these problems.


GUIDE
All the achievements are organized in chronological order as they appear on your list on these platforms; PS3/XBOX360/PC. Some of the trophy/achievements need more of an explanation that others, so I'll do my best to explain them fully.

ACHIEVEMENT / TROPHY LIST

Off The Boat

You have completed the first mission.

5 Points / Bronze Trophy
- Complete the first mission.

One Hundred And Eighty

You Scored 180 with 3 darts.

10 Points / Bronze Trophy
- With a friend, go to the pub in Dukes and start a game of darts. Using the cursor, aim at the triple 20, and get it three times consecutively (in a row) to get the achievement.

Pool Shark

You Beat a friend at pool.

10 Points / Bronze Trophy
- Simply beat a friend at pool.

King of QUB3D

You beat the high score in QUB3D.

15 Points / Bronze Trophy
- Beat the high score which is 10950 points. You can find these arcade games all over Liberty. There is one in "The Triangle" strip club entrance in Bohan.

Finish Him

You completed 10 melee counters in 4 minutes.

15 Points / Bronze Trophy
- You need to counter attack 10 times in 4 minutes. This is possible with one ped. You need to attack a pedestrian and then wait for them to hit back. Press A(360) X(PS3) SPACE(PC) To dodge this attack. If successful, you should then use any of the attack buttons to counter attack. Make sure you find an area where is plenty of pedestrians to fight, in case you kill the one you picked on first.

Genetically Superior

You came first in 20 single player street races.

25 points / Bronze Trophy
- Once you have completed the "N.1" mission for Brucie. Simply select Race from Brucie's options in the phone book. You need to Win a total of 20 races. You may get the same races repeated once you have won them all, but this is fine.

Wheelie Rider

You completed a 500 foot wheelie on a motorbike.

30 points / Bronze Trophy
- Get a motorbike, I suggest a fast one, like an NRG or a PCJ, but a faggio still works fine. Then take it to the airport. Be aware that once you go on the landing strip, you will get 4 stars. Simply start at one end of the track, and then start a wheelie by pulling back. Hold it when it is at the right hight and then wait until you get the achievement. Keep trying until you nail it.

Gobble Gobble

You got a turkey in 10-pin bowling.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Score three strikes in a row. The easiest way to do this is to wait until your turn, take two steps to the left, and then press down and up very slowly making sure you do it straight. The bowling ball with slowly roll down the lane hitting the pins directly in the perfect spot and knocking them all over.

Driving Mr. Bellic (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You unlocked the special ability of Roman's Taxi.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Phone Roman regularly and go out and do activities with him until he likes you above 60%. You will get a phone call telling you that you can use his taxi service.

Rolled Over

You managed 5 car rolls in a row from one crash.

30 points / Bronze Trophy
- Grab a fast car, and take it to the airport runway, be aware that you will obtain 4 stars. Then take it to one end of the runway, race it up as fast as you can, then when you come near to the end, look on the grass for a small low yellow sign. Use this by driving one half of the car on it and the other half off. This will create a barrel roll, and hopefully give you the achievement/trophy if done correctly. Keep trying until you nail it.

Walk Free

You successfully lost a 4 star wanted rating.

50 points / Bronze Trophy
- Get yourself 4 stars by killing a few people and causing havoc with the police. Then you will need to escape the police radius. By escaping I mean, no pay n sprays or safe house visits, You need to literally outrun them. Weave in and out of tight alleys and just keep an eye on the radar if you want to complete this task.

Courier Service

You completed all 10 packages delivery jobs.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Once you complete Little Jacobs first mission, you will get the option "Job" in the phone book under his name. This is a side mission where you can earn some extra cash. Just complete all 10 of the jobs to receive this trophy/achievement.

Retail Therapy (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You unlocked the ability of buying guns from Little Jacob.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Phone Little Jacob regularly and take him out on activities. Keep this up until he likes you above 75% and you'll get a phone call from him letting you know you can now buys cheap guns from the back of his car.

Chain Reaction

You exploded 10 vehicles in 10 seconds.

20 points / Bronze Trophy
- Go to a busy intersection with a shotgun and a rocket launcher with Max ammo. Park your car in the middle of this intersection causing a block. Get out and aim your shotgun at the drivers causing them to panic and flee. Careful when shooting them in case there is police nearby, this will give you less survival time. Once you see that there is definitely ten vehicles, take a few steps back and rip out a few rockets until all is obliterated.

One Man Army

You survived a 6 star wanted level for a full 5 minutes.

40 points / Silver Trophy
- The easiest way I have found to do this is by starting a new game. Quickly drop Roman off and get your safe house unlocked. Find yourself a gun just to be safe. Now drive to the nearest bridge, and simply run past the barriers and back to the car. Drive back to the safe house and go inside, all the way up to the bedroom. Hide by the corner of the wall and wait for any police to enter. Kill as many as it takes, collect there ammo, and wait until the 5 minutes are up.

Lowest Point (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You completed the mission "Roman's Sorrow".

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- Complete the mission "Roman's Sorrow".

Order Fulfilled

You completed all 10 Exotic Export orders.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Once you have met Brucie, he will send you emails asking for you to steal vehicles for him. All you need to do is reply to these emails to initiate the side mission. Once you have collected all 10 stolen vehicles, the side mission is complete.

Manhunt

You completed the most wanted side mission.

15 points / Bronze Trophy
- Get a police car. When stopped you can access the police computer system. There is an option that says "most wanted". These are the people you must kill. There is 10 people per island. And you have to be on that island to view the specific lists. 1. Broker/Dukes/Bohan 2. Algonquin 3. Alderney.

Cleaned The Mean Streets

You caught 20 criminals through the police computer.

20 points / Bronze Trophy
- Simply grab a police car and stop to view the police computer. Start vigilantes and stop 20 criminals

Fed The Fish (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You completed the mission "Uncle Vlad".

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- Complete the mission "Uncle Vlad".

It'll Cost Ya

You made a taxi trip from one island to another without skipping.

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- Simply whistle for a taxi and get in the passenger side. Set a way-point on another island and take the journey all the way there without skipping it.

Sightseer

You have taken all variations of the helicopter tour of Liberty City.

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- At the bottom south-east corner of Algonquin there is a helicopter tour guide. There is 5 heli-pads that are used with 5 different tours on each. You must fly as a passenger on all five tours. Not all the choppers will be there every time. So you need to come back every now and then just to see which ones you have still left to do.

Warm Coffee

You were invited into your girlfriend's house.

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- When on a date with Michelle, once you take her home, try your luck, she will invite you in.

That's How We Roll! (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You unlocked the special ability of Brucie's helicopter ride.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Phone Brucie regularly and go out on activities with him until he likes you above 75%, you will get a phone call from him offering his services.

Half Million

You have amassed a fortune of $500,000.

55 points / Bronze Trophy
-Simply get over five hundred thousand dollars by completing the story missions, and side mission. You Should have over $500,000 by then.

Impossible Trinity (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You have completed the mission "Museum Piece".

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Complete the story mission "Museum Piece".

Full Exploration

You have unlocked all the islands.

20 points / Bronze Trophy
- During the story missions you will eventually unlock all the islands, Alderney is the last one to unlock.

You got The Message

You delivered all 30 cars ordered through text message.

20 points / Bronze Trophy
- Steve will send you a message asking for your help once you have completed Brucie's "Smackdown" mission. He will send a photo of the vehicle and details of where to find it. Every time you find and successfully deliver one, you will get the next text message shortly after. Collect and deliver all 30 cars for this trophy/achievement.

Dare Devil

You completed all the unique stunt jumps.

30 points / Silver Trophy
- There are 50 unique stunt jumps scattered across Liberty City, and you must find and execute them all successfully. I suggest using an NRG or a PCJ motorbike for these stunts, just because some of them require a lot of speed and tight jumps. There is also two that require a boat to complete. Good luck finding them!

Assassin's Greed

You completed all 9 assassin missions.

20 points / Bronze Trophy
- Once you complete Phill Bell's mission "Truck Hustle", you will get a blip on the map appear, which is The Fixer phone booth side missions. There is 9 missions to complete and an amour and weapon behind the fence, behind the phone when you start each mission.

Endangered Species

You collected every hidden package in the game.

50 points / Silver Trophy
- There is 200 flying rats infesting the city. You need to hunt and kill all of them for a reward of.....drum roll... Absolutely Nothing! Well, you do get a nice little trophy/achievement, but nothing I'd call a real reward. Good luck finding them all!

Under The Radar

You flew under all the main bridges in the game.

40 points / Bronze Trophy
- I suggest waiting until you unlock all the islands for this one, unless you want a 6 star challenge. Anyway, pick up a helicopter, you can get one from the helicopter tour in the south-east corner of Algonquin. Now you need to fly under every bridge in the city. This includes bridges that cross water, not the freeway systems.

Dial B For Bomb (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You unlocked the special ability of Packie's car bomb placement.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- You need to phone Packie regularly and take him out on activities until he likes you above 75%. He will ring you offering you his services and you'll be rewarded with the trophy/achievement.

Gracefully Taken (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You completed the mission "I'll Take Her".

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Complete the story mission "I'll Take Her".

Liberty City (5)

Your friends all like you above 90%.

20 points / Silver Trophy
- Self explanatory really. Just go out with all Niko's friends (Roman, Packie, Brucie, Little Jacob, Dwayne) and get your "like" status up to 90% with them all.

No More Strangers (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You've met all the random strangers.

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- You must meet all of the random characters at least once to receive this trophy/achievement.

That Special Someone (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You completed the mission "That Special Someone".

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Complete the story mission "That Special Someone".

You Won! (Secret Achievement/ Trophy)

You have completed the story.

60 points / Silver Trophy
- Complete all of the story missions.

Liberty City Minute

You finished the story in less than 30 hours.

30 points / Gold Trophy
- Complete the story in less than 30 hours. The best way to do this is to concentrate on the story missions and forget about side quests and niko's friends and you'll have no problem doing this.

Key To The City

You completed GTA to 100%
100 points / Gold Trophy

- Complete all mission and side quests.
- Story Missions 60%
- Most wanted 2.5%
- Exotic Exports 2%
- Brucie's Races 2%
- Activities 2% (pool, darts, bowling, qub3d)
- Stunt Jumps 2.5%
- Flying Rats 2.5%
- Stevie's Car Thefts 2%
- Random Characters 5%
- Jacobs Drug Deliveries 2%
- Assassinations 2%
- Friends 10% (do all activities and get your like status up to 75% with Jacob, Packie, Brucie).
- Vigilante 2.5%

Team Player

You killed 5 opposing team members.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Simply kill 5 opposing players in a deathmatch or team deathmatch in one round.

Cut Your Teeth

You were successfully promoted up a rank in multiplayer.

5 points / Bronze Trophy
- Collect cash by winning online games to level up your rank.

Join The Midnight Club

You won a multiplayer race without damaging your vehicle too much.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Easiest way to do this is to race in a match with 1-2 opponents so there is less chance of crashing, and beat them. Try not to crash your car, or bash other opponents too much.

Fly The Co-op

You completed "deal Breaker", "Hangman's NOOSE" and "Bomb da Base II" in time.

15 points / Bronze Trophy
- This is quite hard. You need to get a good team for each of these co-op missions. Because it takes a lot of team work.

Hangman's NOOSE: 2:32

Best to do with a team of two or three. Start off by killing the police in the area. Wait for the police enforcers to drive in both sides and kill them. Grab the enforcer near to gate from the airport entrance. Pick up your friends, drive round to Petrovic, pick him up, then drive round to the north side of the airport to grab a helicopter. Park close the helicopter to make swift work of transporting Petrovic safely to the getaway vehicle. Now fly straight towards to marker. Descend towards the marker at full speed as if you were going to crash into it to save time. This will trigger the cut scene. If all done correctly and swiftly, you should get the quick time.

Deal Breaker: 7:04

I recommend two player for this. At the start one player should take the car to the checkpoint and the other should go to the house round the back across the street with the helicopter in the garden. Take the helicopter to the checkpoint but land on the top floor in a safe area behind the giant tanks. By then the other player should just be arriving and taking out all the bad guys on the bottom floor. Both work your way through killing the dealers and collecting the packages. Once all packages are collected, one group of enemies should leave. 1 person go down and grab a bike and the other grab the helicopter. The person on the bike needs to kill the remaining getaways while the helicopter driver tails them waiting to pick them up. Once they are dead, jump in the helicopter and fly straight back the house and jump out then walk into the garage, mission complete.

Bamb da Base II: 5:34

For this co-op mission, I suggest four players. At the start, two in one car, two in the other. You are only going to get this mission in time if you get the van spawn location at the nearby bridge. Race after the van, kill the guys in the two cars and then shoot the van until it stops. All four of you get into the van as quickly as possible then take it straight to the next location. Now the helicopter part is import. The driver must land on the front end of the ship and let two people off to take care of the middle deck and the lower bomb while the driver and the other person have to fly up to the top deck and plant the first bomb as quickly as possible. Jump down and go inside the boat to rejoin the other two who should be shooting the tons of guys guarding the stairs. Two go down and take care of the guys downstairs, leave one guy alive for now. One of you plant the bomb, while the other kills them self purposefully to respawn outside. Everyone else must leave the boat while the bomb is being planted. Then ounce complete run round the corner and get your self killed to by the remaining guy to save more time. Then jump off the boat to meet your friends and complete the mission.

Take It For The Team

You were on the winning team in all multiplayer team games.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- Help the team win each of these match types:
- Team Deathmatch
- Team Mafyia Work
- Team Car Jack City
- Turf War
- Cops 'n Crooks (As both Cop and Crook on One for All, and All for One)

Top Of The Food Chain

You successfully killed 20 players with a pistol in a deathmatch.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- The easiest way to get this is to make a custom deathmatch with pistols only in a small area where players respawn nearby quickly, like colony island. Kill 20 players before the time is up and this trophy/achievement is yours for the taking.

Top The Midnight Club

You won 20 different multiplayer standard races.

20 points / Bronze Trophy
- Win 20 races in the standard race mode only, not GTA race.

Wanted

You achieved the highest personal rank possible in multiplayer.

20 points / Gold Trophy
- Reach rank 20 in multiplayer mode. The quickest way to do this is by playing the co-op missions over and over, especially Hangman's NOOSE as it's only around 2:30 minutes long.

Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic

You won in all variations of multiplayer games.

30 points / Bronze Trophy
-This is by far the hardest of all GTA IV trophy/achievements. Because unlike the rest, this requires you to do everything possible on multiplayer. It is a good idea to look through your stats to see what games you have won because you will need to win every type of game and with races every track on both race and GTA race. Here is a quick list of what you need to win:

Let Sleeping Rockstar Lie

You killed a Rockstar in multiplayer.

10 points / Bronze Trophy
- You need to kill a player that has been infected by the zombie virus. Basically kill a half naked zombie wearing yellow R* briefs.

Taking A Liberty (Secret Trophy)

Sorry for taking liberties with your time.

Platinum Trophy

- This is a PS3 achievement only. To get this you need every other Trophy. Good luck my friend.
