Always enjoyed good Horror movies. Wanted to know if there are any others interested in the genre.

It's getting very hard to find proper movies, it's a very demanding subject, pretty much all the movies Hollywood spits out are either remakes from other countries, or just plainly suck. Just in for the bucks.

Still, I watch pretty much anything, even the cheap stuff.

So lets see, a small list of movies that have impressed me positively from the top of my head:

-Audition (1999)
Japanese. I have no interest in the asian culture, I don't like anime bullshit nor do I find anything kawaii. But I have to give it to them, especially Koreans, they defo make the best movies in the genre.

Audition is a special movie, it's very psychological, a must in every good horror movie. There is a torture scene in the movie that leaves a mark. The story is pretty well told, top movie.

[Rec] (2007)
Spanish. REC takes a shot at the zombie act, with a bit of twist. It's very thriller-ry, and has great action. The end scene is fantastic.

Don't be put off by the label "Zombie" I just used there, even though I have a thing for Zombie movies, even the cheap ones (don't ask, i just find it more entertaining than cheap comedies or dramas or whatever other genre there is.), REC is very refreshing.

I believe Hollywood remade this movie, I haven't watched nor do I plan to, the original is fine.

-Funny Games (1997)
German. I might be going too far here, this isn't exactly HORROR. Still, it's a movie I like to recommend.

If you are so inclined, you can also watch the american remake version, I was impressed, it's almost a direct copy for those that don't like subtitles, and some of the acting, was superior.

-Shutter (2004)
Thailand takes a shot at horror, and it's a great start.

This one has some awesome scares, a well designed plot, and it's overall pretty good. Heard there's an american version now, heard it's pretty bad. Most asian movies might leave you feeling like the story doesn't make sense sometimes, and the dialect, even after nice translation, is very different from what we're used to. You will have to watch asian movies with an open mind, and understand the culture is vastly different.

That's all from now! Looking for nice recommendations myself!
Unfortunately, my film horizons aren't that wide, not because I'm not interested in seeing thousands of horror movies, but because I don't have the chance to talk about it unless there's a forum topic. So, thanks for that.

You know of any movies similar to Manhunt, other than Running Man (Which is just awful, btw...)?

Manhunt? The game?

What kind of plot are you talking about?
Yeah, the game. A "good guy" killer being hunted by gangs of other killers.

Hmm, well, there is this one movie i watched recently that was alright, it's not exactly what you might be looking for, but it's the closest I can remember recently.

The movie is called "Ils" (Them), it's a french film about a couple that just moved to Romania, in the outskirts of Bucharest. The movie is all about the couple trying to survive a gang of attackers, with a small twist, I'd be giving away too much if I talked about the gang.

The acting is pretty solid as well.

That could work, although the couple doesn't look like they're doing much in the way of self defense. I'll check it out.

I don't know how such masterpiece could have passed me like this.

I just watched Martyrs and felt the need to post away and recommend this to all the genre fans here, which are none.

I don't really have words for this film, it gets better and better every minute, the last 30 minutes or so are cinematic brilliance.

Get yourself a decent version of this, and none of that English dubbed piece of shit.

Massacre, I know you live the life of a psychopath, this one is for you.
I need to see this film.
Have you seen the Human Centipede movie?

No I have not, I was told the acting was pretty bad, should I watch it?
Daniel Tosh says yes. I'm willing to take him at his word.

I have another good suggestion from the last few days.

INSIDE (└ l'intÚrieur) is another French movie (France is actually making pretty solid horror stuff), it's about a pregnant woman being stalked by someone very interested in her baby. There's a lot of gore, sometimes rather excessive (but that's an opinion), it's overall a pretty decent movie.

I'll be checking out that Human Centipede one.
Just watched Martyr, that was good.
