So, everything on here is unclickable for me, from the top of the page down to the General Discussion tab on the forum index, and it does this on every page, meaning I can't click the topics in the new posts index or anything else on the top half of any of the pages on the site. It's kind of like an invisible version of the problems with the rollover ads on the top of the page. I'm not sure how else to describe this...

It's kind of off and on, but it's always the Alan Wake ad when it does happen. Fuck it, this ad business is never going to stop.

I don't seem to be getting that specifically. My browser has been a little wierd lately where I go to click a text box and nothing happens (no flashing line to start typing). If I doubleclick, the whole page goes blue as if I highlighted the entire viewing area. Refreshing fixes it until the next time it happens. Can still click links though and the advertisement doesn't seem to matter.

I'm using IE and updated java a few days ago. Wondering if java may have something to do with it.

And did you mean to lock this?
Massacre
Well, I assumed it was related to the ads, and nothing ad-related ever gets fixed, so I closed it.

Like that was a reason to lock it? I was preparing a reply when I realized it had been locked. rolleyes.gif

Why are people not using an ad-blocker? I have never seen one ad here so when I read about ad problems here I go "wtf - ads, here?".

But I looked in the log file and I find SEVEN items blocked each time I load the main forum page.
I use the Norton ad-blocker, but it's possible to use the HOSTS file too.

Here's what my ad-blocker blocks on the main forum page:

I am guessing adding any "doubleclick" domain and the google adservers to your HOSTS file would help.

I'm using the HOSTS file as well, and it is probably blocking some stuff too, but what is blocked there won't show in the Norton ad-block log file.

This website is really kinda going to shit. I mean, i can't even use the quote function, and despite several attemps at talking to the webmasterbator >.> I've gotten no help.

See if you can use the "Low bandwith" version of the forums...

this whole site is adware...if it were on my PC adaware would have stricken it from my computer a long long time ago.

Sorry QD, but I'm not having any problems with the site on any of the PC's I use, including my phone, my home pc, and 2 work PC's running browsers as far back as IE6. You've obviously just got stuff wrong with your PC.

As for the topic, I'll mention this to the server host AGAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. I'm pretty close to just taking the ads off because all they do is cause problems.

It's the same problem. WHen i press the "reply" button the page goes to the reply with the quote, but the cursor doesn't show up and ends up above the quote box and theres no way to make it go below the quote box.

Which browser (and version) are you using, and which plugins do you have installed? Any adblockers?
Qdeathstar
I've had problems mostly with firefox, but occasionally also IE (which ever the latest version is, i just got a new computer). I don't have any adblocks on IE but i have them on firefox. On firefox i've got colorful tabs, IE tabs, and a weather extension. Everything works fine on every other site I visit besides this one...

Please don't say "take your adblock off lol". With out it this site is as unusable as it is with the links not working. Ads take over the whole screen with annoying sound effects asking me to check out which backstreet boy is the cutest or wanting me to buy cheap pills. free-porn sites have less adware that this site.

Not only that, but if you ever hope to get more members ad-whoring isn't the way to do it imo.
Psy
The ads pay for the server. I can't take them off. The only ones which I put on manually are google ads and they are safe and cause no problems.
ENVi3
i use Adblock Plus and subscribe to the "EasyList (USA)" and I have not problems with ads anywhere.
Qdeathstar
I know, i'm not blaming you, i'm just saying it sucks.

Also, we have less active members than we did when you were hosted on a server with less advertising (or as i remember when joining GTA-SanAndreas.com, none)....

I have some problems, but not the ones listed here. (Maybe my Mac is too stupid?) I can still click links, it just takes a few hits to register, and when it does, the icon doesn't morph into the Disney glove thing. Yah, I'm jabbering and this will only make sense to two people, three of them inactive, but still.

FUCK.

This place needs more members.
Massacre
It's just me. I'm having loads of problems with my PC all of a sudden. The thing ran like a dream up until last week some time.
