Full Version: Red Dead Redemption Limited edition items, who will use them?

As we know Red Dead Redemption is shipping in both standard and limited/special/collectors editions (pro tip, they're all the same thing). Now the limited edition is coming with the following:

The Deadly Assassin outfit
John Marston's "Deadly Assassin" outfit causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed. With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.

The War Horse
There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher than the exclusive War Horse. Whether storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness for hidden treasure, or outrunning the law, the War Horse gives gunslingers an advantage in nearly every situation.

The Golden Gun Weapons
The player who wields the exclusive Golden Guns receives more Fame for each kill. The more Fame you get, the more in-game side missions become available. So there will be more opportunities to duel, more kidnapped townsfolk to rescue and you can bribe lawmen for less.

My question to you all is, will you use these items from the get go on your first play through, or will you save them for the second time around? I myself may well leave them until the second play through as in my eyes they offer the player too many bonuses and abilities from the start. I'd much rather play the game without my super strong horse, or an easy way to get fame. Not to mention the Deadly Assassin's outfit will really make the gameplay so easy to start off.

So who else feels the same, or am I the only one playing the game for prosperities sake first time around?
ViceMan
I'll use them later in the game of course, but to begin with i'll just use the standard items, so I can get a feel for everything, although I may use the outfit.
PabloHoneyOle
I'll use the outfit. Don't think the US is getting a full package with the outfit, guns AND war horse.

Kuwong you getting the 360 edition?
Kuwong
Yeah I found that pretty great in America they have to pick one of the three I think depending where you pre-order it.

And no I'm not sure which system I'm getting it on yet, I do like the 360 as the controller is comfy as fuck compared to the PS3 controller, but free online play with the PS3 is swaying my mind.

This, minus the outfit, for me. Me and Kuwie were talking about this a few days ago and he holds a good point, shit with perks are mainly an after thought most of the time, the idea of just going alone with out the help of golden guns, the outfit and the horse, how a real John Marston might, seems great to me. Though I will be riding the war horse now and then for funsies.

all i am getting is the outfit... but, i don't plan on using it until much later in the game... probably after i've beaten the story missions... i would actually like to save the outfit for my evil playthrough since it looks kind of devilish... but yea, i don't plan on using it until after the story is complete... i'll enter the code to unlock it though but, i won't equip it unless i am fucking around after a save...

My Limited Edition must have been on pre-order getting on 2 months now, I won't enter the codes until I've finished the story though.

Sounds like the war horse would be the best one to get, if it is in fact the strongest and fastest horse in the game.

I don't know, doubling the rate at which you refill your deadeye meter sounds useful.

Honestly, I'm probably going to rock my Assassin's Gear all the time. It's not like I'm cheating, it's just that my shit is more awesome.

From the sounds of things, I'll be able to change clothing at my leisure. These will just be my kicking ass clothes until I find something I fancy more.

It does look pretty bad ass. A sophisticated murderers outfit. I reckon I'm definitely getting LE now. I know bOnEs does this, I don't know if anyone else does, but I'm so going on a massive rampage after saving the game, I'm wiping fucking towns out with my War Horse, Golden Guns and Deadly Astastin Outfit. Bitchez be screamin' mah name.... beggin' me to stop killin' their dogs.

I preordered at gamestop, so I get the assassin outfit. I'm using it. It comes as an unlockable feature in the game. If I unlock it, I'll use it, just like any other feature in the game.
