Hate crime charges filed in Amish beard cutting

QUOTE
BERGHOLZ, Ohio -

Authorities raided the compound of a breakaway Amish group on Wednesday and arrested seven men on federal hate crime charges in hair-cutting attacks against Amish men and women.

Among those arrested were the group's leader, Samuel Mullet Sr., and three of his sons, said Mike Tobin, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Cleveland.

Several members of the group carried out the attacks in September and October by forcefully cutting the beards and hair of Amish men and women, authorities have said. Cutting the hair is a highly offensive act to the Amish, who believe the Bible instructs women to let their hair grow long and men to grow beards and stop shaving once they marry.

QUOTE
Mullet punished some by making them sleep in a chicken coop for days and was sexually intimate with married women in the community so that he could "cleanse them of the devil," the two said in the affidavit.

The BMW was a driving school car, and the driver was a drivers license "student" (not sure what to call it). The wheel came from an oncoming truck. All airbags was set off, and no one was harmed.

Translated with Google, it's not good English but I think it's somewhat legible:

A Russian citizen living in Germany was caught by Norwegian customs when he tried to smuggle butter. Yes, butter of all things. He had 90 kilograms of butter in his baggage.

QUOTE
A Russian citizen living in Germany was caught on Friday by Norwegian customs officers with 90 kilograms of contraband butter.

The Russian's butter party was not declared customs. He had to hand over the butter package to customs officials, reports newspaper VG.

- He said he would deliver it a place in Norway. One would almost think he had some contacts who would sell it on, or that he would sell it on yourself, says office manager Wenche Fredriksen Region Eastern Norway.

Half-Eaten butter are sold on auction sites like Finn.no, and a pound can cost NOK 500-600 [=USD 87-104]. The food safety authority is now warning against buying butter from unknown sources.

- Food should be purchased from professional and safe trading companies, not people on the home arena, says section manager Atle Wold the FSA.

Norwegian dairy Tine are not interested in people gaining butter on the black market.

- I would encourage people not to buy butter products that are posted on the Finn auctions and elsewhere, says communications manager Lars Galtung in Tine.

It is foolish to accept expensive offers when you do not know how the goods have been stored and transported, he said. ( AP)

Nuclear power plant incident in Sweden:

The management at the Ringhals nuclear power plant decided to run a pressure test before the maintenance was completed. By doing so they wanted to get the reactor up and running 40 hours earlier. The pressure test was performed without removing tools and equipment, and a left-behind vacuum cleaner caught on fire. The huge reactor hall was covered with a deposit of soot. The fire happened May 2011 and they are STILL not done cleaning up. The reactor hasn't been running since May and they have lost $ 300 millions worth of electricity. That's some expensive 40 hours.

The story was just revealed on a scrutinizing TV program, much of the incident had been covered up by the Ringhals management. A professor who was the leader of the authority appointed nuclear security committee talked too openly with media and was removed last year. He was interviewed and showed statistics proving Sweden was one of the worst in the world on operating nuclear power plants. In 2007 another Swedish power plant nearly had a melt-down. Nice being their neighbor!!! We always worry about Russian nuclear power plants, they are a risk but they are also farther away.

I just watched the documentary on TV this morning, it's not something I can link to. But there are probably something somewhere on the Internet about the fire at Ringhals.

Thanks, but I've been active at igta5. They just talk bullshit there (which is not in any way bad), and I can't be there enough to keep track of the BS. Here I can stay on top of things, it takes just a minute each day.
