I just received mine from you! Woooohooooo!!

I've just been informed by the missus that these are the toy of choice for Christmas and she has to go on 'operation find the yellow one' tomorrow.

I'd never heard of them 'til 5 minutes ago.
TreeFitty

Ford Ranger.

Are the US versions the same as ours?
TreeFitty
didn't know they had them over there.

Mexico has them under the Mazda or something name with slightly different exterior features (look of the head/tail lights).

Yeah, don't see many though because it's normally seen around building sites. Not really a family vehicle.
TreeFitty
Well, that's a cultural thing in a sense. Lots of people in the US have pick ups as regular vehicles (usually with a use for them but many just like trucks). What are the SUV's like over there? I've seen plenty of small little ones more like compact station wagons but are there bigger one's like the US?

All vehicles are tiny over here compared to the ones you have and the Ranger here is probably a scaled downversion of yours, engine no bigger than say probably 4.5L and that's considered a huge gas guzzler here. Now that we're on the subject - I'm sick of seeing stretched Humvee limos round Liverpool there's fucking loads of them - our buses aren't that fucking big.
TreeFitty
Probably same size overall then. Think my engine is a little bigger. I always wanted to take an International CXT with a big American Flag flying off the back and drive it around the UK. Just to be an American dick.

^that one was my favorite. For scale, it's about 6ft to the top of the hood (where the windshield meets).
The Awesome One
I want Chelsea at the top of the table, another Elephant and a brand new car.(3rd December I can drive again!)

Elephant on wheels ^ CC would love that for Christmas.

I want a home cinema system too, I set up my shitty pair of pc speakers with my TV for the surround sound effect. It works a treat when I'm playing GTA without blips because I can hear if a gunshot comes from my left or right.

@TF - Ranger UK version.
bOnEs
i got one but, i used to watch movies with the volume at 24... 5 years later and i have to turn it up to 40... yea, i think it's about to die... i might as well ask for one for christmas biggrin.gif...

Basically the lowest-cost ford truck model. But they are nice as they fit into car spaces and you can still put shit in them. I have one biggrin.gif

eew, that thing looks faggish.

I already got money and a tv as an early gift but I really dont want much more. I do want to get my mom and family stuff though.
I plan on getting my dad that series 'the war' and maybe some other things.

I only wish I had more time to shop for my family....the place I am stationed is a tiny town and I dont have many places to go out and look around.....

scarface1616
My girlfriends getting me a Zune HD and a replica of the rosary wornby the brothers in The Boondock Saints. My dads getting me a 37' HDTV for my room. I think my grandma is giving me money for books for next semester. I'm going to try and get them all something but I'm not sure what yet. I'm getting around $200- $250 for my xbox so that'll be my gift buying fund.

I was going to suggest that.

Dunno what I'll get, don't really care. I hate Christmas. Probably do the usual family dinner/lunch (all 6 of us), although I'm going to try to work on Christmas day as the pay is stupid.
DANNY B0Y
I'm getting a few more 360 games to whore the fuck out of its Gamerscore and Achievements and probably a few LPs.
Bain
Oh yeah I didnt mention I plan on doing internet shopping.
Marney1
I might go poaching for a goose on Lord Derby's estate because I don't like dry turkey.
DuffMan
I didn't ask for anything, but I suspect I've got/am getting stuff for my car, stuff for uni, clothes, chocolate and sweets of various varieties, and many things that are Top Gear or Family Guy branded. The joys of being an only child with parents who think I'm very young.

I'm doing all my shopping online this year. Fuck going out in the cold and wet in the busy high street not being able to find what you want with foreigners planning jihads in every doorway.
TreeFitty
Shopping for my parents is usually simple. Gift card for my mom, tools or something along those lines for dad.
Marney1
I'll be getting the missus Take That SingStar and the bluetooth mics to go with it and a coat she likes. Other members of the family can have a card but my dad is really hard to buy for.

How old is he? If he's younger than 60, I'd go with a hooker. I've had the worst time finding gifts for my dad since he got old...
TreeFitty
why not a hooker after 60? heart attack issues?
Marney1
He was born the day before Hitler died but he loves crosswords and he's a retired joiner.
TreeFitty
I think there's all kinds of crazy new-style cross word puzzles. Or maybe some other books-worth of word games.

If I could find a book of really tough cryptic crosswords that would be great but you usually just find average ones, he has a very high IQ.
Massacre
You know what, you should still try getting him a hooker. As long as he doesn't have ED, he'll be happy.
trathen93
im glad its not too hard finding something my dad wants. i generally go out, see something and buy it. he never complains.
my mums the awkward one, its like she judges you on every aspect of the present. its normally the wrapping she judges more than anything (extra points for a bow on top, but i normally pick a shop who wrap gifts for you). by the time shes got to the present inside, im in the kitchen checkin out the turkey.

St. Johns market for you then, they always have that wrapping service where your donation goes to some charity.
Bain
Get old people coffins for gifts. Or diapers.

I wish I kept my PS3, I couldve of got my wife Singstar:Take That. Maybe Take That tickets will compensate?

Sure. If she's into that stuff...

I'm reliably informed by the missus who went to see them at Wembley that they have no plans to tour again at the moment. If she like Take That then get the DVD - Take That The Circus Live.
koneko
Cookies, nothing, nothing, and nothing. I'm still decorating though.
Ex-PS Fanboy
I'm going to ask for a Nine-Ball Seraph model kit. Then I'm going to try to get my parents to buy me an ounce. If not I'll probably just get some clothes.

As for giving. I'm poor. I'm going to ask what people want and decide later.

I want the pretty hello kitty ornaments instead of having to punch holes in her mint tins. Also some more origami paper, and one of those squeezy-handle sifter things.
Massacre
Oooh! Ditto on the ornaments!
