So, I manage an Ice Cream Shoppe, right? I see all the bills and such that come through, and I'm amazed at how stupid some of them are. Today we received a notice that we had to be in compliance with these new labor law posters, which I'm fine with. But why do I have to pay ten bucks a pop for these things? If it's a Federal Law that I'm required to follow, shouldn't the materials be free? Sure, it's a trivial amount, ten bucks, but it expands to other areas. Even though we're not fast food, we are required by state law to have a grease trap. Shouldn't the state pay for it? Install it? Clean it? If they don't want to pay for there own laws, then why make them?

Talking of grease traps, I have a contract with a big restaurant to clear out their grease trap every fortnight and it's a horrible - well - greasy job. Ice cream shoppe needing such a thing? Who wrote that one? LOL

I work at a grocery store and we have the same posters plastered all over our break room. I've been there for almost four years and we've gone through 4 sets of posters. It isn't a lot of money but really they should just have the rules printed out on some paper and put somewhere employees can see it. As long as it is kept up to date it would be fine, but that would just make too much sense I guess.

Also I would love to taste the sweet grease of Ice Cream.
