Hey guys,

Not sure if anyone has brought this topic up before but just would like to ask for your opinions regarding running GTA 4 on a laptop. I know wikipedia may not be the most accurate source of information but it is stated:

The Windows version of the game was praised for its improved graphics compared to the console versions, but on the other hand there were reports of many customers who were unable to play the game due to incompatible ATi Radeon graphics adapters, no SLI support, DRM issues, and other unaddressed issues, such as the Windows XP Service Pack 3/Windows Vista Service Pack 1 requirement. There have been many complaints that the game was unable to install, due to the fact that the players are unable to get the Vista SP1 to install on their computer. There were also multiple bugs and glitches that were reported.

My Laptop:

HP Pavilion Dv7

Intel Core 2 Due processor P8700 (2.53ghz)
640gb Hard Drive
4gb Ram
Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit) with Serivce Pack 1
nVidia GeForce 9600M GT with 512mb dedicated graphucs memory

Do you guys think I will have a problem running this game?

Thank you to all in advance.
It should play pretty good, not great. The RAM and CPU are more than adequate. The GPU is okay. You can get another 500 MB of RAM for the GPU from system RAM. That should help things. You can actually borrow more than 500MB if you want, but I don't think its necessary. Make sure the laptop is plugged in. I'll bet this game can drain a fully charged battery in half an hour.
Thank you for the detailed reply. Really appreciate it.

The Awesome One
