Yeah, check out the teaser trailer if you haven't already, it's at http://www.modernwarfare2.com

Not much in it, but I think it's immensely well made. Never seen anything quite like it. Can't wait for this game.

Oh, and once you've watched the trailer through a couple of times, check out this link for some insane details picked up from geeks viewing it frame by frame...

Awesome. I can't wait.
Bonners87
Possibly one of the best game trailers made, i think. Does not give much away and leaves you wanting more, but still more than satisfied with what you do see. Very good concept.
PabloHoneyOle
I've never played a Call of Duty game.

I played the Medal of Honor games on PS2 and got real burnout on FPS war shooters.

Awesome trailer though.
Roman
This is going to be way better then Treyarch's shitty game World at War. Fucking hate that game. It sucks my balls. Go Infinity Ward!
Indy
You guys should probably sign up to the website or something because they might have an exclusive BETA trial like they did for the past two CoD titles.
Psy
The official site's not up yet, but when it's up, I suggest everyone signs up for the added goodies. Infinity Ward are amazing with pre-launch stuff. They had a 10 day countdown before CoD4 where they released really well made videos every day. Plus they talk to their fans a lot. To be honest they do more than Rockstar for their fans.

Blasphemy Ouchies.

I know who's not going to NY for the next GTA release.
Psy
Haha, R* are great for the webmasters and stuff, I'm not complaining about that, but apart from screenshots and videos, and the occasional competition, that's all Rockstar do for interactivity. IW have developer blogs, behind the scenes "the making of" various maps, their devs post on the forums, they make spoof trailers and videos... For CoD4 they made a video especially for halloween where they replaced soldiers heads with pumpkins. Not to mention the fact they always release developer tools so people are encouraged to make mods, whereas GTA is made as hard as possible to modify. I'm not trying to say R* are crap, they do things a different way and it still works, but IW are a lot closer to their fans I think.
DuPz0r
The trailer doesn't show you much, wich is good. It seem like the matrix O_O Computer Based warefare. Modern Warefare 2, attack of the Trojans.
TwoFacedTanner
Yeah, thats why I didn't like the trailer, I didn't know what the hell was going on.
I have a feeling, thats its going be be all Navy SEALish.
Which is alright I guess but I like straight up war better. Like when you were playing as the Marines on COD4.

Gameplay teaser video released showing about 5 seconds worth of footage. Looks awesome.

Official trailer is due out on May 24th.
DiO
Looks freaking awesome. More vehicles and underwater shit.
Benzilla
Looks like the clues make it seem it's going to be set somewhere in England?

You guys think you will play as Soap again?
PabloHoneyOle
I can't wait for this to come out so I can get COD:4 at a cheaper price.

Your going to wait for COD 4 2 to come out to get COD 4 1? That is a little bit strange...

Or economical.
The price of the game is slashed in half for new copies and the used games are sold off by gamers who think they have to have the newest version of the game to make themselves happy.

I don't have the COD4 1 now, I'm sure as fuck not going to pay $60 for it, but I will pick it up when it's $30 or less in a couple of months.

Hey, Stoic kicks arse when he's after a bargain I pity the next spotty store assistant he meets in his quest for the ultimate bargain that is COD4.1!! ohmy.gif
TheAnalogKid2112
I agree Stoic. That's why I haven't gotten it either. Although you should know that no stores are going to mark MWF down. They didn't when W@W came out.

Maybe not but there will be shit loads of pre-owned.

Game Informer Scans: Here... BE QUICK!

QUOTE
Soap is in the game as a "grizzled vet" NPC.

Single player enemies will have "customized" weapons similar to the multiplayer component of COD4.

The ice mission shown to GI demonstrated the game's open-ended approach to combat, showing how stealth can be implemented if the player chooses.

While the gameplay is open-ended, the story is "on-rails".

Infinity Ward realizes that the "invisible line" where enemies will stop coming in COD4 wasn't great, so they're trying hard to eliminate that. Also, they are lengthening the single player past the 6-10 hour mark of COD4.

"Special Forces Mode" is a major part of MW2, a series of missions in the spirit of the Mile High Club from COD4. It will also have co-op in this mode. Gears-style bleed-out-and-partner-revive will be used.

Co-op apparently won't exist in Story Mode.

Riot shields will be implemented in the game.

Zakhaev's former associate, Makarov, is the "new face of global terrorism."

Snowmobiles are used as a form of escape in the demonstration. Unclear whether or not the player will drive, shoot, or both.

Players will alternate using the two triggers to climb ice-walls.

Movable turrets will be used in SF mode and Single Player, no official word on online use.

IW wants to implement an accomplishment system to online, as they want to make their players famous.

Online mode will use a "Live-Patching" system, where IW can manipulate spawn logic or certain parts of a multiplayer map without doing a full-blown patch.

Another demoed area shows an enormous desert setting where Task Force 141 drops into a wasteland and must navigate a "lengthy trek" to a fully-rendered valley with scattered caves, reminiscent of Iron Man.

IW is focusing on details for the COD4 sequel, citing iced-up tire treads in the Russian level.

The game will run in 60fps (duh).

OMFG ERECTION.

2nd trailer out

Looks pretty good, defiantly gonna get it on launch.

What I want out of a modern war game:

1. A real setting. Not Makebeliefastan. Islam is the enemy, just as Nazis are in the rest of the genre. (Sometimes the VC too.)
2. A large shitty crowd of non combatants with one guy in the middle lobbing grenades and shooting off an Ak-47. Oh, and you're penalized for killing civies.

Yeah, all that cutscene footage tells you a lot about how good a game is going to be.

Not doubting that it will be an awesome game, but there's nothing there you can judge it on.

Well of course. But if Modern Warfare 2 will be half as good as COD4 was it'll still be a kick ass game.
TwoFacedTanner
What the fuck I just watched the second trailer.

That doesn't even look real.
It looks like a god damn action movie.

And could someone please tell me what this game is about?
Im still not really following.

This Game is going No.1 on my list.

Of Games that suck ass.
Mr Pink
Here is some info I scooped on Modern Warfare 2, it's not much but here it is:

- Russians are the bad guys. Some terrorist organization springs up and your tasked against them.

- Soap from COD4 has been promoted to captain and is in the game which means the SAS is in the game. Which is of course great news because we all know it'd suck without them, just look at WAW campaign..bleh.

- No co-op for campaign, but there is co-op for "Special Ops" bonus mode which is going to be a lot like the Epiologue mission from COD4

- Campaign is going to be short again. Apparently they didn't think spreading the story out to far would of been a good idea..has a point i suppose.

- Fixing the infinit respawn they used in the previous games.

- Level involving ice-climbing to assault a russian army base.

Like the ice climbing bit. biggrin.gif
I've done that exact scenario several times (training, not actually real Ruskies).

Hmm, I'm still undecided on whether I'll get this or not....most likely not..
PabloHoneyOle
Holy shit, check out the Prestige edition of this game; for $149 you get the game, the original COD and FUCKING NIGHT VISION GOGGLES.

I'm not going to get it, but if I can snag one late next year for under $100, I might just do so.

Real, functioning night vission goggles? Yeah, I'm getting that one. It's not a bad deal considering that the cheapest pair I've seen was $80.
PabloHoneyOle
I'm not sure what I would do with NVG other than fuck with my wife at night while she is sleeping.

Example: NSFW
Massacre
Here's what I've been looking at. They're actually $90, not $80.

They're a lot more compact than the ones that come with MW2, but I was going to buy the game anyway, so why not?
DiO
NV goggles would be pretty awesome but I can't justify buying some. lol.

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will cost 54.99 GBP on all platforms when it is released this autumn - and that's just for the standard edition, not the super-special-OMG-comes-with-nightvision-goggles-edition.

Activision claims that the weak performance of the pound, combined with record development costs, have forced the cost of the game to be raised to 54.99 on all platforms.

I'm not paying 55 for a PC game at all.

How can they justify 55? They're preying on the fact people will buy the game no matter what.

The same will happen for Diablo I bet, as the article says, I doubt when the gets stronger I doubt prices will start going down.
