With Guitar Hero: Metallica less than two days away, I figured I'd create a Guitar Hero topic since there isn't an official one. So first off, who's getting GH: M??? I know I am. In my opinion, Guitar Hero World Tour SUCKED, but I think this will do the series some good.

Anyway, this topic is for discussion of all Guitar Hero games. What's your favorite? Which ones do you still play? Etc. My favorite one is no doubt Guitar Hero II. It's the one that got me into the genre of game and IMO has the best songs. I still play that one and Rocks the 80's to this day on my PS2.

I'll be back on Sunday to write what I think on Guitar Hero Metallica.
(And yes, I know that someone made a little GH:M topic but this one's official for the whole series.)

EDIT: ...Hell, I'll throw in a poll: What's your favorite title in the series?

Maybe. Concidering how shitty GH4 played, I'm going to rent it or play it before I get it. But personally, GH3 is the only good one. I play GH2 ocassionally, but that's just If I feel like playing a really hard song or something.

?????

GH3 is harder than GH2... a lot harder.

Anyway, i agree with Analogkid, GH2 is better than the rest, but the problem is that i cant play it with the guitar now...

Im getting GH:metallica even if its like World Tour... Its not very good but still enjoyable, and the tracks are good... thats what matters after all so i dont care that much.

Not really. The songs are harder on GH3, but the hammer-on system sucks horribly on GH2

I still have Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's for PS2, sometimes I play that shit. There's a couple good songs on there.

I play GH:2 the most, but GH:3 is pretty good too. After I got GH:3, I got Rock Band and since then haven't bothered with World Tour or any band specific release. Probably won't get GH:Metallica either; I'm saving for the Rock Band: Beatles.

I feel that World tour doesn't have enough DLC and at that enough good DLC, at times on the PS Store i find myself looking at whats new on GH,not much, and then look at rock band and Wish that i'd waited a bit longer for it. the amount of songs for rock band as dlc is amazing. I might go and buy that beatles one when it comes out, god don't I love soaking in the rich history of my hometown. but the beatles were/are still brilliant.

If you like metal, and love guitar solos, GET GH:METALLICA!

I was EXTREMELY skeptical about buying it, even though I bought it on the first day, but god was it worth it. It is so much damn fun.

i'd rather to get a downloadable track pack for rock band
DiO
I'd rather play a real video game like Killzone 2.
Mr Pink
The first Guitar Hero I played was GH2 on PS2. I followed the series and got GH3 on PS3. Afterwards I was introduced to Rock Band and didn't look back. I highly enjoyed the game and didn't even think of coming back to Guitar Hero. Although recently I decided to give GH: Metallica a shot by renting it. I thought it was decent, but this is coming from somebody who isn't that huge of a Metallica fan.

I just saw a Guitar Hero Metallica advert while watching The Goonies.

The advert was the first I had ever heard of it, it was my girlfriend who shouted "I fucking hate him!" that got my attention. She hates Lars Ulrich because he loves himself.
