That's some pretty hardcore shit. You never see pics like that on the news. Or maybe you do, I wouldn't know...

TwoFacedTanner
Badass.
Hopefully I'll be doing stuff like that soon.

All the first timers say that until they experience the real thing. Just watch out for snipers. Stay Safe.

Do you choose what you want to do in the military, or do they determine what you're best for? I know nothing about the military...

I guess it's not a very realistic thing for me to consider, but I was thinking scout sniper. I'm a good shot, especially with a scope, but I seriously doubt I'm miltary good, no matter how bad I'd like to be...

There's hope, the Iranians have been using the internet to try to gain information from us. If your any good at that kinda stuff, not everything in the military is about guns and being a good shot.

Not to be a dick, but those pictures seemed mixed. (The chick from the 101st with the RPG, the Hawaiians towards the end, the ACUs and the DCUs, and even some Oakleys they used in the Gulf War.)

I'll say this; if you're in one of this pictures, it can only really be one. I'll leave you alone if you tell me which.

I know, I sorta mixed them up, a few from Afganistan and Iraq. Not all are mines, just the Stryker Brigade. Remember at the beginning of the war some of us we're rushed straight from training with our black boots, lol. Hawaiians ?

Yeah, the 25th guys. Hawaiians. But even the years are weird, unless you've been at this for years.

No, I don't remember that. I remember a lot of Marines with black boots.

Further:

She's a tard. The flag is more important then some stupid ass chicken.

You're photobucket is even crazier: You have a picture of some chick with the Indian Head patch - from Korea.

Yup, As I said, not all were taken by me, you can tell the ones with the same size are mines. Not all of us had Digital Camo back then.

This is from a few years ago, tops. That's ACU with the zip cuffs on the back. (No one in the Army calls them digis, that's Marine chatter)

The only officer, because only Army Officers are given sidearms.

The end of the Gulf War, or the beginning of OIF. You can tell because all the glasses are different. The green ones are oakleys. However, they do have strikers.

A lot of these photos are confusing and odd.

2 years in Iraqi Freedom, All of it was taken in 2005, except 101st, I am not sure of the year. Were you in any deployments ?
Heartless
Yep, and it's why I say that these images confuse me.

It's a stern mixture of confusion and deep interest when you talk about the military, Heartless. I wish I knew what most of this meant.

I almost joined the British Army was going join the Fusilier. Still seriously considering it.

Haha, that naked guy in the middle of the street. Just what the fuck

Pocket that 10 grand and split it, I hope they did. Mmm.......the spoils of war
Passionate Homo Sapiens Ingester
Is it not against any kind of code to take pictures of people they clearly don't want taken and put them on the Internet? Thinking of the naked guy in the street -- I don't know how he came to be there...

Can't post any pictures, because I haven't been deployed yet. Will be next year, but that's a pretty long wait for some pictures.

Awesome photos. Glad you got back safe to tell the tale.

I wish you luck on your journey and a safe return. After I came back I was too used to all the noises and it was hard to go to sleep on a soft bed and things being quiet. It was extremely hard to control your adrenaline when you hear loud noises. Stay Safe.

Those are some interesting pictures.

A few months ago I read the book The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell by John Crawford. He was in Iraq in '04. Some of your pictures slightly coincide with some of the findings in his book. He described being on guard one night, and below were two drunk men (kind of like the naked man, he said all kinds would hang around under the OP). One of them pulled a pistol and proceeded to shoot at cars, an American guard had no choice but to fire, hit the man in the pelvis, and the bullet exited through the man's penis. And as if that wasn't enough, the guy had been married earlier in the day.

Anyway those are great photos, man. And it's good to see you home safe.

Thanks man, it seems you have a lighter version of PTSD, but I think everyone gets a form of it when they come back. Again cheers, did you leave the army after your deployments? Or are you still on the job?

No, I retired in 07, I guess I had seen enough bullshit and those young soldiers were wearing me out, I couldn't keep up anymore lol. I took over the family business in New York and been doing it since. I still got time to be a geek and play GTA though lol.

I can't imagine losing my true best friend. Poor fella. If you think that is bad you should see the aftermath of a AC-130 attack. If you ever played COD4 and played the mission where you had to be the Television operator and got to blow people apart, imagine going to the scene after that.
