What was the buy in for the 136 seat tourney... 17 for fourth place seems low....
It was only a $1 tournament. First place got about $64 i think. At the moment im only playing with for small stakes as im a wee bit skint.
I play poker on wptpoker.com (or whatever it is)... i\\\'ve one 20 bucks a couple of times.. they have it set up so that you pay 20/month then buy into tournaments for \\\"tourney chips\\\", they give you 500 a day and most tourneys cost between 100 and a 1000 to buy in.. makes it legal in the US...
Yeah i went on the PKR wiki and it mentioned the reason why American\\\'s were barred is because of a new law they brought in.
My biggest mistake so far is I had pocket aces and first position raised to 6 times the big blind (standard raise @ the table) which 2 people called before it got to me. 6x4=24 in the pot so i bet pot which was 25 bucks. The early position raiser called and everyone else folded..
Thats the worst mistake with a pair of bullets. Alot of people on PKR seem to think their invincible. Personally id rather have AK as you can make two pair and more easier. Whereas with a pocket pair you are limited to the two cards in your hand and then have to get lucky you hit another pair or more on the board.
I play at the Brighton and Hove Grovesner casino every now and then but tend to play mostly at the famous London Victoria one but not that often as i prefer the stakes at my thursday night game. The prize is generally around £700. Won it a couple of times. Basicly you pay £12 to enter and a £10 rebuy for the first 8 blind level.
Its an illegal game but they way we get around it is by not leaving the money on the table we give it to the the owner of the pub to hold whilst were playing. Its a loophole in the law.
EDIT: QD i was going to ask where you were based but its in the US, i was going to say if you weren\\\'t then id offer to give you a few games on PKR. There are ways around getting past the IP ban but they also have stopped accepting American credit cards too.
Another EDIT later: Heres a few screenshots of some of my big money places in tournaments on PKR. I tend not to play cash games as you can lose your money too easilly.
