Severus Snape
Good morning all. I am always looking for new and improved ways to beat the missions in the game, and was wondering if anyone found any interesting ways to beat things. For example, in the mission where you sneak into Jizzy's club and then chase him through the streets, I tried a few different things in an attempt to see if there was an easier way to beat the mission without actually cheating. I found that if you destroyed his car before going into the club, he ended up jumping on a motorcycle. If you popped the tires of his car, he would still get in his car but it would function with popped tires. You could also almost destroy the car (have it smoking), thereby making it easier to destroy the car during the chase. And this is just one example.

I am now currently working on Toreno's Last Flight to see if there are any other ways to help finish this mission apart from just using the given rocket launcher on the freeway. And I am wondering if anybody knows if it's possible to destroy or damage the helicopter BEFORE the cut scene showing it taking off? I have tried using the RPG on it before it takes off, and either I'm not hitting it or it's indestructible. I do know that using the RPG before the cut scene will kill everyone on the helipad (which is a bonus), but I'd rather just pick them off one by one with the sniper rifle from a block away.

So does anyone know of any ways to help finish this mission without using cheat codes? I know - get the RPG, get on the bike, follow the helicopter on the freeway, get off bike and shoot at it when you're a little ahead of and to the side of it, blah blah blah. I'm talking about interesting ways to get this done as opposed to following the robotic, linear users' guide way.

Tyres works well for me. If you blow up the car and Jizzy goes with it you lose the phone... Mission Failed.

I use the HEAT missile launcher, not the supplied RPG.

Yeah, I've beaten the mission. But I've got 3 saves of the game, 1 of which is after beating the mission and 2 before doing the mission. I have the three saves for:

Save 1 = following the linear story
Save 2 = trying new things and new ways to beat the mission without cheating (also to get a 100% rating)
Save 3 = cheat file so as not to glitch up either 1 or 2

I've beaten it with Save 1, and now I'm trying Save 2 to find a different way of beating it (like Jizzy's car). I'll mess with Save 3 once I get done with Save 2.

Hope this clarifies!

What you might do to save the save slot.
Go In and change the File name like putting (a number in parentasis) Keep a list of the #s you have with what the status of the save is.

i.e. GTASAsf2.b renamed as GTASAsf2(monster) meaning it is the save following the Monster truck mission.
Or/ GTASAsf2(002).b with a listing someplace saying it is the First save with Medic/Fire/Tags missions done.

the game won't read these as saves unless/until you remove the added charactors. You can save hundreds this way.

Ok heres what u do grab the heat seeking missile launcher from th air port is San Fiero before you start the mission, when you get to the helicopter and it takes off quickly lock on and fire a missile at it if done correctly the heli should turn the corner and you will hear it blow up and you will pass the mission (Note: this is very easy to as long the rocket launcher is already selected whet the cut scene starts)
Severus Snape
That is an interesting way to beat the mission. I was going to try that with Save # 2, but whenever I have the RL selected (before taking the RPG), the heli has no health bar in it. Which tells me that it can't be beaten until you pick up the RPG. But I'll give it a shot.

As far as which save is which, I am using the PS2 and not the PC. So I can't just edit the save files. smile.gif

And the best "cheating" way to finish the mission (with Save # 3) is the cheat to destroy all traffic loaded into memory. Man, the streets are just LITTERED with blown up cars!
Weasel
Yah, on the PS2 the only way to keep files is to have extra Cards.

Hey bro,
I have a bunch for you.
You never need cheat codes.
I'm 100% complete seven times in SA,
can help you out for any mission.

You know about the Pleasure Dome,
shoot the tires is nice, and he spins around.
I also like to push the vehicles right there
into the water.
[BEFORE entering the Pleasure Domes Club]
Makes it completely easy.

For the Toreno mission, the HS-RPG is always the
way to go, stock up on ammo, and have good bike skill.
After the cutscene, ignore all the guys shooting at you and
jump on that FCR and gun it for the mid-freeway, past the
Wang Cars. Hang a U-turn and wait for the chopper.
It only takes maybe 2-3 shots with the HS-RPG.

Another one is in the beginning of the game,
where CJ needs to load up the van with crates
of ammo "Robbing Uncle Sam" while Ryder
gets shot up by weekend warrior security guards.
This is very easy. Just don't let Ryder into the
first gate. Jump the wall, shoot the guards,
then move the crates out into the area where Ryder will be parking.
Open the warehouse, get those guards, and those crates.
As long as they are all neatly stacked and waiting,
when you finally open the gate for Ryder, it will
only take a few minutes of simple loading the close by
stacks into the van.

Another is also for Toreno, and this is very easy.
It's an alternative to "Outrider"...
After the cut-scene drive Mike and T-Bone to the destination.
Exit the vehicle, but don't collect the weapons or jump on the bike,
instead, run across the railroad tracks to the Firehouse. Get in the Firetruck there,
and drive it over to the van with the Rifa in it, which have replaced Mike and T-Bone,
and pin him in. This will now allow you plenty of time to do the mission
at your own pace, instead of the hurried traditional methods. Keep in mind the exact location.
Now gather the weapons provided, and any you wish from your Garage nearby that you may need,
(providing you have all the snapshots' rewards) after getting on the Sanchez and starting the mission
activity. Drive to the roadblocks, and take them out, located on your maps. Each one can be sniped,
molotov'd or rocket launched from a safe distance. AK-47 works for the standing guards very efficiently.

They're basically the same, keeping in mind the guards over head on the landings,
where the AK-47 will make quick work of them. Since you have pinned in the Rifa Van,
it is no problem to retrieve health or armor if you need it. When all of the road blocks
are taken out, return to the site where you last saw Mike and T-Bone.
The Van should be in the same locked in placement you left it.
If it's not, and it's down the alley stuck in the tracks, go across the
tracks and retrieve the Firetruck again, and physically move the Van so it can now drive.
Once it takes off, escort the Van to the destination in Doherty. After arriving, you will receive a
three-star wanted level, so run or drive up the street to your Doherty safe house for a change of clothes.
Otherwise you will have to seek out the Pay-N-Spray at Wang's, or use the police bribes in the area.
^Since that SF fire truck doesn't have a water hose, I was convinced in 2004 that it was there
*specifically* for this mission, and it worked great.

Don't forget the "no-wanted" level missions for gathering tanks for your hangar,
those 2 difficult oysters in Easter Naval Base, and anything else you can think of...
I use the Woozie mission "You've had your chips" for this.
Just shoot all the guards at the plastics factory, but not the machines.
Have at it. Free-Roam, no wanted levels. Just be back in one piece to finish the mission
and save afterwards. It's easy to get side tracked having fun, remember
when you come back, shooting the machines will bring more guards to fight.

In this game it really helps to be fire-proof. Get the firefighter missions
done as early as possible. No gang members or enemies can handle fire like CJ. cool.gif
