the other morning i was flickin thru TV channels and i came across 'the flintstones'. i watched it and it brought back memorys of classic cartoons.

when i was a kid i loved: tom and jerry, the looney tunes, wacky races, stop the pidgeon and many more. but my all time favourite was scooby-doo.

what happened to these programs. kids nowadays are missing out on alot, modern kids shows are crap.

id hate to see the day when these cartoons can only be found in the darkest corners of the internet.

...for real homey... there's not any new cartoons out there worth watching... spongebob square pants is the newest kids cartoon that i like, and that came out a long time ago...

my personal favorite cartoon was bugs bunny & friends... pepe le pew, elmer fudd, coyote (poor wile e), porky, daffy, sylvester... ahh, those were the days... do they even play looney tunes any more?!

I would no doubt give my left nut to see Rocko's Modern Life come out on DVD. That's probably one of the best shows ever aired on television.

sadly not, ive not seen them in years. i heard they banned tom&jerry because its too violent. kids nowadays have so many problems that a good dose of looney tunes wouldnt cure.

lol i sound so old fashioned but im only 15 and in my earlier years i refused to watch modern kids shows, i never once watched cartoon network.

we have to bring them back. its horrible, kids will have ruined childhoods and bugs bunny will no longer be a house-hold name.

Lies! I watched tom and jerry like yesterday on cartoon network at like 2 in the afternoon, Jerry was painted white and fooled Tom into thinking he was a ghost, they were hiting eachother with a claw hammer, now theres some damn good violence *bing bing* As for the cartoons of today this is true they lack any character, heres so and so and heres the wild antics they get into like going to the school science fair dressed as a bear or some other stupid random shit. But the one cartoon i watched when i got high from school was recess shits the bomb!

I used to love the Cartoon cartoons on Cartoon network

Ha. Johny Bravo, for the win.

These days, other than Sponge Bob, it's all crap. Although, there is one show that pretty creative, with a home full of imaginary friends, or something. Don't know the name, though.

i have to disagree. i hated johnny bravo and dexters lab.

as the guy above sayed that tom and jerry was on the other day. im glad these shows are still aired, i dont have Sattelite TV anymore so i dont have cartoon network but i remember a channel called boomerang and it was just all the classic toons like tom and jerry, whacky races, looney tunes, scooby-doo and many more.

these shows were amazing but modern kids dont appreciate them anymore and films like "high school muscial" are just destroying kids

Yeah, that's it. The voice acting isn't over the top like some kids shows, and is a very creative idea for a show.

yup... i've seen tom & jerry recently... one of the better cartoons and, one of the most violent... i'm surprised cartooon network even plays them... if parents really think cartoon violence is bad then, why is tom & jerry still on? lol, the simpsons "itchy & scratchy" is a parody of that show... ahh, the poor kitty always gets fucked over by the mouse biggrin.gif...

anyone remember rin & stimpy? lol, that was a cartoon for the kids who took LSD laugh.gif...

now, as far as cartoon network goes, adult swim definitely has the cream of the crop... but, those cartoons are far form kid friendly... i like moral oral (if that's still on), boondocks, futurama (not there anymore... comedy central's got em now), ATHF, and sealab... robot chicken rocks too...
HongKongPhooey
Futurama just makes me feel good when i watch it. And Boondocks? Ive been a boondocks fan for like 7 years man when it was a cartoon strip in my newspaper it was the only funny i read. High School musical.... god damn musicals, if i could kill the guy that put the whole sound of music shit i would, only musical i like is southpark movie and sweeny todd "violence rules"

All i know is when i run into kids on the internet they seem like seriously retarded, they and read and write but they cant like comprehend what they are reading or distinguish what they are writing. I dont know how many times i get messaged on my ps3 by some kid thats pissed off that i wrecked him in one fucking race, and he talks like a retarded baby, I called one inbred the other day and he didnt even know what that meant.

Kids shows were always pretty bad, but I swear they are worse now as they are also politically correct crap.

Yah, they're in season 12. It doesnt matter when you started watching them. They arent geared for children like said old cartoons and new shit like pokemon.
DuPz0r
Most modern kids cartoons are usually little people with large heads, made out of pointy badly drawn vectors, with annoying voices. The story-lines are also crap, with low amounts if humor. i agree cartoons these days suck arse.

Adult cartoons on the other hand, have got better.
GLC
wait should this even be in entertainment?were talking about cartoons NOT being entertaining,so shouldn't it have gone in R&R or something.then again now people are talking about cartoons that are entertaining so i guess it belongs here now.my brain hurts from asking questions then answering myself.Goodnight.

Totally agree, even the remakes of classic cartoons are shit these days, I saw a updated version of transformers a little while back and thought WTF. My all time fav Masters Of The Universe, and even though it wasn't a cartoon Fraggle Rock always made me happy.
HongKongPhooey
fucking fragle rock, that shit was great when i was a kid, i even had the cheap like shity toy cars of them.
aussie_b8ler
the shows that i remember as being enjoyable as a kid include:

roko's modern life
rugrats
captain planet
aaaaaahhh! real monsters
swatcats
banana man
gummi bears
street sharks
and there was this random aussie show called johnson and friends.
Linkin Parkinson's
Dragon Ball Z and Rugrats own whatever cartoons are mentioned in this thread.

Fuck watching Scooby Doo boring ass. Their jokes were terrible. Tom and Jerry was ass too the fucking cat always loses and it pissed me off. At least in Dragon Ball Z there was a possibility of the bad guy winning for once so you keep tuning in to see how in the hell they are gonna get beaten.

When I was around 6-11 years old I watched:

Toonami
Rugrats
Johnny Bravo (he never got the girl which kinda pissed me off)
Rocket Power (it pissed me off how they always made Otto Rocket get owned by someone)
All That
Kenan and Kel
Cow & Chicken
Dexter's Laboratory
WCW and WWF
Rocko's Modern Life
Aaah! REAL FUCKING MONSTERS!
Fresh Prince of Bel Air

sometimes power puff girls

they also had a super mario cartoon but it came on like as soon as I left to go to school... I wish I could have been out of school so I could watch that shit, I watched it a few times and it was awesome.

I agree. Also, when I've flicked through the channels and turned over to BBC1 between 3:30pm to 4:30pm, the kids programmes (by the way, I never watch them) look so retarded. I wonder why so many adult actors dent their careers acting in so much crap and they could be doing something worth their while where they can get a bigger name each like acting in a soap or any films. The kids programmes always seem to have stupid things happening like a bottle of Fanta as a weapon or something. What the hell...

I used to watch the same as you did. I used to like others like Spiderman And His Amazing Friends, Crackerjack and Roadrunner. There were many more. I enjoyed the quizes such as Blockbusters and Screen Test.

Duck Tales was my shit (I always wanted "Me Money Bin") and Inspector Gadget too. Dr. Claw's voice was the most terrifying thing I knew; I still think he was responsible for 9/11.

I remember watching the Muppet Babies, I liked how they tied in Star Wars or old horror movie clips (especially when opening the door to the closet).

As far as the Jetsons and Flintstones, I watched those alot too. I remember watching a Jetson's movie on VHS (the plot was something like George gets shipped out to this distant astroid to make sprockets for Mr. Spacely) and that ruined the Jetson's forever for me.

That is my shit. I always remember watching Dragon ball Z when I came home after school. That was like 10 years ago. I remember watching it when DBZ wasn't even out. Ahh yes... the freeza days, those were awesome. TOONAMI IS FUCKING PIMP!! WHY DID THEY TAKE IT OFF THE AIR??? WHY??

Edd Eddn Eddy is an instant classic for me. I'm so glad it's still on TV, not much though.

Courage the cowardly dog will always be my #1. That show is so funny. I still watch it too this day, they had 3 eposides on yesterday and then they put the shitty cartoons back on.

Captain planet was legend, I remember that show so well. I remember watching it when I was like 5, Lol.

Thundercats is another, and X-men!!

And one of the best cartoons I have ever watched would be Teen titans. That show came on in 2005 when I was 13 years old. Although I was getting old that cartoon was too good to pass up. I can't beleive cartoon network too that show off the air, THAT SHOW WAS FUCKING PERFECT!!!! Some of the eposides were truly epic.

1: Courage the cowardly dog
2: Edd eddn eddy
3: Teen titans (although this was probably the best cartoon I ever watched I watched #'s 1 and 2 when I was a kid so I can't top those with a later cartoon. )
4: Captain planet (or X-men)
5: Powerpuff girls

not true. i was born '92 and i loved the classics (i probably watched what my parents watched). you gotta love the 60's drug references in 'magic roundabout'. somehow as a very young kid you couldnt get me to watch modern shows, i also like the classics when it comes to music.

i hated dragon ball Z. to me it was just a bunch of constapated japs flying around, throwing mad blue shit at each other.

i wonder if the deterioration of kids TV is causing more kids to have have mental problems. if you watch that modern shit for 2 seconds you'll most likely become insane.
SlickCriminal92
Yeah the shit they have on cartoon network these days is crap. It's for like 2 year olds. Maybe it's for the next generation of kids. Either way it's babyish stuff. I remember a while back they said they didn't want ''violent'' cartoons on. Cartoons like my beloved teen titans or tom and jerry.

It's been about 2 years since I last watched teen titans. I checked out a youtube channel with all the vids. I must've been watching eposides for about 5 hours so far. I miss that show, the voice acting was incredible in some eposides. The characters are the best.

PUT ALL THE DAMN GOOD SHOWS BACK ON TV AND TAKE THIS CRAP OFF!! WHY DO THE GOOD THINGS DIE OUT EARLY AND REPLACED WITH SHIT? IT'S LIKE MAINSTREAM HIP HOP, IT DIED IN 2000. NOW WE HAVE SHIT.
