Simple really. I'll be voting for Ken Livingstone and Lindsey German.

Why?

I read the policies of the BNP. Quite frankly their campaign is subtly racist.

UKIP obviously are a bunch of Europhobic nutjobs.

Brian Paddick's policies are essentially Tory.

Boris Johnson is an absolute mug. He hardly even lives in London, he doesn't know what it means to be a Londoner, he's simply counting it as a political position. He's made nearly as many racial hiccups as the Royal Family. His policies are ridiculous, wanting police everywhere (how will he pay for it), and contradictory (he claims to be attempting to improve public transport and the environment but is also anti-congestion charge. DO NOT VOTE FOR HIM PLEASE. The

The Green Party seem to have a lot of good social policies, but I was put off by their statement that they wouldn't allow any airport expansion in the South-East. I live in Hounslow, under the flightpath of the world's busiest international airport and I can honestly say i like the planes.

But it has to be Ken. He's a Londoner through and through. He's not a fan of the ridiculous changes Labour has undergone under the Third Way. He's managed us very well through 8 years, we're now becoming the world's most important city. He was a great leader through the Olympic campaign and through 7/7, to the extent that I'm not to bothered by alleged corruption.

Lindsey German I'd also like to see well, because she represents true 21st Century socialism.
Mekstizzle
I haven't actually been following it much. I'd say London could do with a dose of conservatism. None of that far right nationalist BNP/UKIP crap, but yeah. I'm getting sick of alot of the Socialist shit fuck shit. So I won't be voting Labour or anyone associated with them.

It's always going to be a choice between a turd sandwich and a giant douche.

I'm gonna vote Boris and Paddick.
The_Technician
Well i don't mind who gets in, but this PC over the top bullshit needs to stop.
Austin
I like Ken Livingston.. not afraid to speak his mind.

Boris is a bafoon.. don't like the Lib Dem guy.. has no charisma whatsoever.
Sharpie Fetish
Im totally voting for the BNP!

Am i balls i dont live in london

I would vote for ken livingston though he seems to have balls
Mekstizzle
Bump.

Today was the day.

I voted Bojo. smile.gif
BIG FUCKING SPIDER
Ken is out biggrin.gif !

That said, Johnson is a fool, but the lesser of two evils has prevailed IMO.
gingergenius

TommyVercettiPizza

I'd rather have a guy who's done a great job for 8 years but is maybe a bit corrupt & arrogant ahead of an absolute clown who's made nothing but cock-ups throughout his political career.

How does this look? One of the most multicultural cities in the world has got a Mayor known for making racist remarks. One of the world's greenest metropolises has a Mayor who doesn't understand the environment. The gap between rich and poor is increasing daily, especially in London, yet we have a Mayor who doesn't know anything about the world outside of his luxurious butler'd existence. And London has a Mayor who ain't a Londoner. Anyone has voted for him has been trapped by the vicious anti-Labour propaganda spouting from the Evening Standard, Mail, Sun etc. and also by his image as a likeable fool. He's got nothing going for him other than his image... I hate democracy cos it means people who don't agree with me get to win...
Mekstizzle
Please, Labour and Ken have had their time. 10 and 8 years respectively. They haven't really done much at all, they've done more damage than good. It's time for a change. Perhaps BoJo's unorthodoxy might do some good.

Good job on watching Have I got news for you wink.gif

Labour are going down, in a few years it will be dominated by Conservative and even Liberals could go ahead, funny watching Gordon Brown destroy what Blair built really.
Austin
Tony Blair shouldn't of given in to Gordon Brown.. he only stepped down because Gordon wanted his job so badly.. I didn't like Blair but I'd rather have him in power nationally than the conservatives any day.. because at this rate that's going to happen.

He's had 8 years, and hasn't accomplished much good at all, it's high time for a change. Who was it back in 2000 who said "I don't feel anyone should be London Mayor for more than 2 terms, because too long in power corrupts an official"? Yes it was Ken himself; and that sentence is one thing I wholeheartedly agree with him on lol!

Ken apparently 'made racist remarks' in that he likened a Jewish reporter to a 'Nazi concentration camp guard'. Boris, like all of us, makes many questionable remarks, some racist, some not; the racist ones are no worse than the others, such as when he denigrated Liverpudlians, but we won't go into the hilarious stupidity and short-sightedness of people who believe that racism is the worst evil in the world lol. Everyone makes slip-ups with what they say now and again; it doesn't affect their ability to be a good Mayor.

And London has a Mayor who ain't a Londoner.

He has a house in London, and as a well-educated person he has extensive knowledge and understanding of the whole country, especially London. He is even going to give up his Henley constituency to move to London and devote his time to London.

Anyone who voted for him is a politically-aware adult, and as such is intelligent and responsible, and capable of weighing up the candidates and making a responsible decision based on his/her analysis. As for the image thing, a likeable fool is far better than a corrupt, slimy, whiny, evil-far-left-Venezuelan/Cuban-despot-hugging Commie lol

That's funny, because I love democracy because it means people who may not agree with me, but are chosen by a majority in a democratic public election, are able to take power; why should any one person, eg. you or me, decide autocratically who wins/has power? The idea sounds very fascist to me; hardly in keeping with your Socialist leanings.....
Mekstizzle
Boris can't be racist. His great grandad was an Ottoman, and he says his kids are a quarter Indian (according to the BBC) - He's just been lapping up Leftist Propoganda, and thinks that Conservatism = Racism and all that, they're not fucking GOP Neo-Cons like in America...

QUOTE
But he is no stereotypical aristocrat - he was born in New York and was a US citizen until recently, his early schooling was in Brussels, he is descended from a minister in the Ottoman Empire and his children are, as he put it, a quarter Indian.

Thats the best line ever said, because everyone knows the Sun supports Labour heavily and they were one of the main reasons they got into power originally, good job wink.gif

Ken hasn't accomplished much? Sorry, this government is fiercly pro-regions. Yet Ken's managed to get them interested in the Olympics, which means London gets funding to regenerate one of our poorest areas. And it boosts the profile of the city. As do other coups such as the Tour de France starting here etc. Congestion charge, which reduces traffic.... He's expanded the public transport network and it's much better now than 8 years ago... what more do you want him to do?

As for the concentration camp guard, that's not racist at all. I could call you a concentration camp guard if you won't leave me alone. No concentration camp guards were Jewish anyway so what's the guy worried about. It's no different to the 'race card' played by the Militant Black Guy except that standard journalist took himself seriously... Anyway I'd argue in a city like London where blacks and muslims feel the authorities oppress them (rightly or wrongly) then it's necessary for the authorities to appear colourblind...

You can live well and still know London... but not by attending gentlemen's clubs and knowing nothing outside of the Westminster sphere... and as for the cycling, that's a gimmick. I'll reference Cameron and his bike with the England flags during the world cup.

Johnson said he wouldn't give up being an MP so... wrong.

Learn something about fascism before you make accusations like that, its two architects were Mussolini (prominent member of Italian socialist party in his youth) and Hilter (whose party were literally National Socialists). Democracy is hugely flawed, I'm not saying we should have another system necessarily but I could go on forever about the problems with democracy.

BRKS you're a mug. Come with something to add and i'll slew you.

Pieface if you want to hark back to Sun election campaigns check out 1992 which swung it for the Conservatives. 1997 New Labour is a long way away from Ken Livingstone.
