can't think of one off the top of my head that's not from megaton or rivet city except for the beggar outside tenpenny tower... but, you might of killed him off too, lol...

I've killed off everyone in and around Megaton/Rivet City. I'm fucked, aren't I?
bOnEs
not if the beggar in front of tenpenny tower is still alive... i just checked the wiki site for good karma rewards and found nothing renewable outside of rivet city and megaton except for in front of tenpenny tower...

you last best hope is the one in front of tenpenny towers i do believe... maybe synch or massacre know of another that doesn't involve the DLC's... you might have to reload a save from before you killed everyone in megaton laugh.gif... because, i am sure the trophy is more important than losing a few hours of work since, it's all that stands between you and a platinum...

After you start giving the beggars Aqua Pura, they all die.
Micky dies in the Megaton side quest for the Scribe anyway.

Giving any of the 3 scrap metal guys metal for free - good karma.
You can try saving the hostages around the wasteland.
I think I have saved like 17 now. If you want (+) karma.
There are plenty of opportunities in the DLC's for good karma.
QUOTE(TheAnalogKid2112 @ Aug 20 2009, 01:46 PM)
So I totally overestimated the DLC cost thing. First of all, I HAVE a job.. so fifty bucks isn't that much.. ESPECIALLY since the DLC's are going to be released (I would assume) a couple weeks apart. Even though 50 dollars isn't that much, especially since all the DLC is pretty much the size of a full game, I'll still be spread out. That was a major Jew moment for me. Fuck that, I'm just gonna buy the DLC seperately.

I don't know about $50 but mine were like $8.99 each., or so.
Both on 360 and PC drive space not an issue.
All of them well worth it, I am chillaxin' for awhile before doing Zeta.
Point Lookout was just TOO good.

The only deal at Paradise Falls I ever went for
was the 20 Chinese Assault Rifles given to Pronto.
Then of course you get them all back plus the key
to all the gun shop when you clear out the place.

Protector Casdin, who you probably killed, takes scrap metal,
but he is more into rewarding, I've never really donated anything to him.

Since you haven't done the DLC's yet it never hurts to start a new game.

==================

After Broken Steel the selling takes a real turn.
I knew this from 360 so when I started my PC game I saved every camera I ever found.

After the end of Broken Steel I made 10,000 caps in one move just from cameras.
Then it's off to kill the re-spawning mutants and overlords for their blood sample.
At any one time I have 100 fingers and 100 mutant blood samples in the fridge waiting to collect on.

Now the highlights are making Moonshine, and killing for collecting mutant blood samples,
and fingers from Talons, Smugglers, Swamp Folk, Enclave and Raiders.

Ah, I killed him after breaking into Fort Independence. I thought a Laser Rifle was worth more than 5 Stimpaks.
TheAnalogKid2112
Well fuck then. Plus I've killed probably 20 Outcasts wandering the wastes, so chances are they're hostile towards me by now.

Oh, on my accont I've got all the achievements, except the 4 Storyline ones, and the bobbleheads achievement. Went into Dunwich to get one of the achievements, and I must say. I bloody hate Feral Ghoul reavers.

Got all 1,000 achievement points, and have started to do Broken Steel.

dammit i want broken steel sad.gif... i wish it was already late september...

i went to the LOB enterprise building for the first time the other day... sort of an interesting place... it probably had the most loot of any building in the wastes... there was lockers, desks, and cabinets all over the place... it took me 3 hours to fully explore the place!! and man, i've never seen so many sentrybots in one location!! that's what made the journey a little longer because, i was busy studying the routes of the robots to take my best approach... i had charon with me and i didn't want him to go out there and kill himself by getting surrounded by a couple sentrybots and a mr. handy... he left my side at one point because i went somewhere he couldn't reach... sure enough i hear him across the way getting into a conflict... him vs. mr. handy... he won the battle but, i am sure if there was another robot in the mix, he would of surely died because i watched him try to take down a sentrybot with half health and he nearly died...

fun place though... interesting government takeover, and don't forget target practice after work!! the unique weapon is pretty cool... not much power but, the fire it inflicts helps the battle a little bit... low AP consumption too...

i mezzed angela staley last night in hopes of putting sexy sleepwear on her... finally got it to work lol... i had to mezz her hidden, then immediately talk to her and switch out the wasteland outfit for the sleepwear... but i learned that you HAVE TO take a stealthboy immediately afterwards because, they turn hostile after that and if your invisible, she won't attack what she can't see... she'll appear hostile and your status will say "danger" in red but, she won't attack... wait for the alert to die out and then your good to go... tried to do the same with bittercup but, it still wouldn't work... i tried her a long time ago and it never mezzed her, just made her hostile... same thing happened last night...

LOB is great I always clean the place out.

The research and concept of the Zhu-Rong v418 is what make it cool.
I only use it for gas-filled rooms like at the National Archives.

I think the Lady of Hope church and the hotel have more stuff.
Same with National Armory and Bethesda Ruins East & West.

Hard to say which has more but the place with the largest concentration of
Abraxo Cleaner is Takoma Industrial factory.
bOnEs
i remember the hospital and hotel but, while it was the BIGGEST building(s) to explore, there wasn't nearly as many lockers and desks... and bethesda ruins has some loot but, again, not nearly as much... i mean, LOB had lockers and desks EVERYWHERE!! i literally mean EVERYWHERE!! i must of looted about 2,000 caps there from just the lockers and desks laugh.gif...

i can't think of another place like that... i think the hospital/hotel comes close though... it's a good mention...

Bethesda buildings were LOADED. 8 trips back and forth WITH Fawkes.
Then there are the Bethesda Underworks, smiliar to the Old Olney Underworks.
There is plenty, maybe you're only exploring a little.
Fort Constantine, Fort Independence, Vault-TEC HQ, Springvale Elementary,
Hubris Comics has about 100 desks, National Archives, National Armory,
Wilson Building, Red Racer, even the Nuka Cola Plant had loaded offices.
Now I take Fawkes with me to triple check buildings I may have only explored a little.
Now that I'm at level 30 his killing enemies is fine with me, but he is a pack mule.

At least 20 trips with Fawkes back and forth to the Adams AFB in Broken Steel.
I use the shortcut on the west wing of the Capitol Building, which was loaded itself.

Also in Point Lookout there are two loaded mansions.
One you can ignore for later but the main one you have to loot it before game end,
just like the Mobile Enclave Crawler. The mansion does not have the rare items that
the crawler does (I got them all) but you will easily pull $5-7K out of it.
Both mansions I kept returning to a certain vendor to sell, as he has a unique 100% repair skill.

That P.L. vendor is SO good I went back home and grabbed any rare items for him to repair.

just saw an interview with todd howard of bethesda... he discussed the fallout MMO (which was nothing really... would love to here more on this), new vegas, and of course the PS3 DLC... he said the plan is to release broken steel in "EARLY" september... and then operation anchorage, the pitt, point lookout, and mothership zeta all within 7-10 days of each other... hooray!!!

so, this means i can play each DLC with my two files (good and evil) and then immediately turn my attention to the next one... this is AMAZING news... i just did a backflip and broke me neck!! ohh and analog, i guess this means that the GOTY edition is probably still planned for late october if they plan on releasing the DLC this close together...

One thing many of you will find interesting, is that after Broken Steel,
there are changes in the Capitol Wasteland. Permanent changes.

So if there is any base/root/original exploration you have yet to do,
do it now before the scenes change. It's little things but you will say
"hey that wasn't here before". Even close to home in Megaton, not so much
in Tenpenny Towers. There are lists of some of these on the Fallout Wiki.
Basically certain people are fighting over, or protecting, the water.
Near Megaton, there will be a new location that is just different once you
take on a certain side quest. Of course it's all about Project Purity.

This wasn't the case for Operation: Anchorage, except for the 2 new locations.
It was a simulation so nothing changed. Same for The Pitt, just new locations.

With the Point Lookout release, there are very subtle changes, but you will
appreciate them if you become a bootleg moonshiner like I did. Now, any
food vendor you encounter such as Brass Lantern, Joe Porter at Canterbury,
or Gary in Rivet City will have certain new food items that are used for moonshine.

You guys are in for a real treat with the expansions, you will love them.
bOnEs
yea, i read about those subtle changes a while back like, a sort of base of operations for the merchants right outside of rivet city, which was never there obviously... i hope when they say early september, they mean september 3rd early laugh.gif...
Massacre
Well, I've fucked myself over royally after playing Mothership Zeta. When the time came to leave the Engineering Core, I took whatever I could carry with me; all the unique items, a ton of fully repaired alien weapons, scrap metal for Walter, and what was to be the newest additions to my gnome and teddy bear collection. I took these things with me to the next area because I'd read that part of the ship is inaccessible after beating the final quest, and I assumed that this area would be one of those parts. Much to my dismay, it was actually the area I moved my things to that became inaccessible. not the area I moved them from. Needless to say, I lost everything. The only items I have now are my essentials (what I always carry), and what I picked off of the corpses of Toshiro, Paulsen, and the numerous aliens from the bridge. The only saves I have are right before the final battle, and in the Capital Wasteland, before I even started. I wish I could make my Vault Dweller put his Infiltrator in his mouth and pull the trigger... I feel sick.
TheAnalogKid2112
I know that feeling to a certain extent, Massacre. What I mean is I've lost a lot of those custom weapons by repairing over them. I've lost sooo many. The most recent loss is Ol' Painless. But yeah, sucks for you sad.gif

not really... if you use the blackhawk a lot like i do then, there's not enough ammo to go around when it comes to the repeater... i love 'ol painless though with my good file... i can pick off enemies from a distance due to it's zero spread...

i don't know how you can save over the unique weapons analog laugh.gif... i never did that once... i always made sure i wasn't...

-------

haha, so... i did that one mission where you try to free the little lamplighters from paradise falls... i usually just buy them off of eulogy, to save the trouble because, i don't want any trouble in there... however, this time i followed through on squirrel's plan of reconnecting the wires to the old terminal he talks about... and distracted forty by telling him he should be making more money... well, got squirrel and sammy to leave but penny wouldn't leave... she told me to rescue some mungo or she won't leave herself... failed the speech check of telling her to leave him behind... so, now i gotta free rory... and i do so but, i can't get him out of paradise falls without someone killing him... so, i tell him to wait in the bathroom and then i leave him laugh.gif... i went back after like a day in-game and he's still in there... i wonder how long that'll last biggrin.gif... if he stays permanently in the bathroom i might start dropping supplies and stuff around him so, he at least looks like he's living in there...

also, after getting into lamplight, i decided to escort sticky before i even explored lamplight any further... figured i'd get that out the way... but, it got me to thinking because, i hooked up red and shorty with some decent armor and weapons back when i did the big town quest... so, i gave sticky some good stuff as well... then i decided to grab up a few better weapons and armor and went to big town... sticky rejoiced about being in big town and i went around reverse-pickpocketing good armor and weapons on the other big town residents... now it looks like they're all well-equipped fighters biggrin.gif... kinda made me feel good inside knowing that i just helped that town out tremendously (even though there's nothing to even worry about after the big town quest)... they now look like a military town, except for flash... i gave him businesswear and a pre-war hat so he would look like the mayor biggrin.gif... he's got a limp too so, it looks like he's pimpin' around the town when on patrol laugh.gif... i think i might sprinkle some items about in the town too to make it look like it's not a deserted hell hole... lol, why not, there's nothing else to do with big town anyways... might as well have fun with the place, right?

You can always re-download it, should be free.
Thanks for the head's up, I've been putting MZ
off after some incredible new glitches or findings.

I don't know if it was Point Lookout that re-loaded
old places, but some glitch has happened, and I'm
not complaining. It's like re-living early horrors.

From the Springvale Elementary School, to the
Rock Creek Caverns, many interiors that I previously
*completely* looted 100% in the beginning of the game,
are now re-loaded. That was wild. This included locked
doors, skill books, and bad guys, as well as the tons of loot.
I don't know how it happened, like the school I always
gut that place early on - everything intact including ants last night.
Mama Dulce's - same, Chinese soldiers, food everywhere,
and like 4 skill books. Rock Creek Caverns - both safes
re-locked and re-loaded. That's fine with me even with
.44 magnum, .308, 10mm, and 5.56 rounds into the thousands now.

So I'm gonna re-check out the entire Capitol Wasteland again
before downloading Mothership Zeta, as obviously something is
re-loading many places. Weapons packout are the Burnmaster,
Double Barrel Shotgun, Xuanlong, Tri-Beam Laser, Plasma Grenades,
The Fertilizer Shovel (Melee) and Lincoln's Repeater FTW.
Massacre
That's a pretty hefty arsenal, Synch. I only carry, the Dart Gun, Infiltrator, Silenced 10mm, and now, the MPLX Novasurge, one of the few surviving weapons from my "incident" last night.
bOnEs
i gotta cut down on the weapons i carry too... when i unload everything i don't need into the lockers, i can get myself down to only carrying about 85 lbs... and that's fine when i have a guy like charon to use as a pack mule while out looting... but really, i only use the blackhawk, terrible shotgun and 'ol painless... no need to carry the SMG, xuanlong or zhu-rhu pistol... i always bring 20 grenades and all the pulse ones i have (which isn't much)...

when it comes to armor, i always bring the 101 utility jumpsuit, lesko's lab coat, naughty nightwear, red's jumpsuit (for my loitering outfit... her names' valentine so, it works perfect) sheriff's hat and three dog's glasses... i'll mix it up between the wanderer's leather armor and combat armor... one stealthboy and one purified water... other than that, not much else with weight...

not really sure if i can cut down the weight... if i lose the weapons i mentioned, that's 14 lbs... and a 10 lb difference between the two armors i alternate... maybe i can get it down 60 lbs if i go with the leather armor but, i need a little more protection now that the enclave are on the loose...

Yep, cool. For stealth, yes I use basically your packout:
Chinese Stealth Armor, Silenced 10mm, Dartgun, Perforator or Infiltrator.

With like 10-20 Frags or Plasmas. The thing about stealth is I love it, but
my character is so bad ass at this level that she really doesn't need to fear
anything even Albinos, Overlords, or Reavers. Truth be told I think the
Reavers and Albinos are much tougher than the Overlords. When I noticed
the Overlords switching to Gatling Lasers from the Tri-Beam, I started
carrying the Precision Gatling Laser from the Armory Master of the Enclave
Mobile Crawler but it is really over kill, that thing kicks ass though.
But yeah big guns and no fear currently re-exploring what has been
mysteriously re-loaded, this is very weird but very cool as well.

On a side note as a pyro, the 2 rare flamers from Broken Steel are cool
but not as effective as the Burnmaster found in the regular game.
Slo-Burn and Rapid-Torch, they are okay, but like the Heavy Incinerator
they need repair too often, I just use the Burnmaster.

I hope you met Haley in Point Lookout, he's the best and I got him up to
a full 100% repair skill, and take all my rare weapons to him.

My total setup (minus the items that are weightless):

Dart Gun
Infiltrator
Silenced 10mm
MPLX Novasurge
Chinese Stealth Suit
Ghoul Mask
Lucky Shades
Geomapper Module
Lucky 8-Ball

I think that's it. I might be forgetting a couple things.

Try fighting 3 Reaver's at once, I must have gone through about 30 Stimpaks to beat them.

hmm, maybe it's a bad idea to go through the museum of history after broken steel then... ahh fuck it, i like a good challenge biggrin.gif ...

This was on the last quest
where you have to get the airforce base and blow shit up
Miss Launcher ftw

i'm thinking the gatling laser perhaps, making quick work of the weaker ones and saving VATS for the reavers... i don't really know...

i'm kinda curious as to how a feral ghoul reaver is more stronger than an overlord biggrin.gif... i'm waiting on scaving through the museum of history until i get broken steel because, i want to face these fuckers in the pitch black...

The Reavers are highly irradiated and throw a bomb at you.
Their attack with their hands is like that of a deathclaw.
Also, don't bother looking for them in the Museum, they're not there.
BUT a side quest will be there if you want. "Aqua Cura Challenge"

After Broken Steel, Reavers will be in places like the secret area of Takoma
where the ghoul study was taking place, and various other places.
Also they are in the tunnel where the Burnmaster is found.
Just wear the ghoul mask, unless you're doing the Adams AFB mission or leveling up.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No one carries the food sanitizer and geomapper module?
My basic weight with no items at all is 9 lbs.
In stealth mode can leave the house around 50 - 60 lbs.

Bobby Pins - 310
Food Sanitizer
Geomapper Module
Lucky 8 Ball
Keyring

Rad X - 350
Radaway - 750
Stimpacks - 2500

2 things I haven't gotten rid of yet, the Deathclaw Descrambler
and Junders Plunkett's finger. The finger's not an inventory item, so
I have to find the related side quest, or just go to the Regulators and
see why his finger is so special. He also came with "Junders Valid Points"
which are colored spiked knuckles. Found him in the Arlington house
where the Abe shrine is, he's like another random NPC.

I think the buildings and places being re-loaded is due to Broken Steel,
they want to make sure you have plenty of chances to level up to 30.
Now it's already getting old, all these locks have to be picked again.

nah, i might carry the food sanitizor on my next play through because, i plan on eating junk food when i need health scavenging, saving stimpacks for the heated battles... and i haven't done reilly's ranger quest yet so, no mapper...

reavers throw acid bombs? and pack a punch like the deathclaw??... well now, that does sound kinda dangerous laugh.gif... ahh man, no reavers in the museum... ohh well, maybe i'll still wait until broken steel anyways... i'm in no rush... i got lots of quests left to do and i am almost level 18... i'm stopping at 19 and doing "garden of eden/take it back" as soon as i get broken steel...

i hope my game doesn't reset buildings like yours synch sad.gif...

Synch, Junders Plunkett is a special NPC that only appears if you have the Lawbringer perk. His finger is worth 1000 caps. Personally, I just kept it next to my other treasures.

it stays in your inventory though... if your sold it to the regulators, it still stays there, like a memento... at least it did on my current file... i sold it to her, and later noticed i still had it... can't drop it, and can't sell it to her again... but yea your right, he's not a side quest, he shows up when you take the perk...

on my next evil play through i'm taking both the lawbringer and contract killer perk biggrin.gif... i want the caps, and i'm gonna be killing evil raiders (as always) and good guys like the brotherhood... might as well make some money off of both sides of the coin... can't wait to get my hands on all expansions so i can start all over biggrin.gif...

Cool, thanks Massacre. I hadn't bothered to look him up.
1,000 caps will work. I'm at over 130K now. Guess I should buy something.

lol, buy what? there's not much out there once you've seen everything... more armor? to what, store in your locker, next to all the other ones just like it? laugh.gif... lol, i'm just messin' around... but, there's not much to purchase once you have all the housing upgrades, armors, weapons, etc... i might start reverse pickpocketing money onto other people because, i'm pry the richest person in the wastes with my 9,000 caps... might as well spread the wealth when i'm good... once i start that evil file, all bets are off laugh.gif...

i found the perfect place(s) to call home once i start my next play through after i get all the expansions... i mean, i haven't played the DLC's so, i might find something better but, i recently checked out a bunch of places the fallout wiki mentioned had non-respawnable containers... and i liked a couple of them biggrin.gif...

1) this one is inside the first metro station you enter if you follow the story... there's that one location with a locked gate and about 3-4 feral ghouls behind it... anyways, in the room adjacent, you'll find a safe, locker, desk, shelf, and a cot in the corner... sounds like a place to use for a while... plus it has a personal storage area past the ghouls down below (which requires a hard lockpick skill to open if i remember)... i think it's just shelves and a toolbox but, maybe a place to store your prized possessions (which means nothing of course but, feels real in a fallout way)...

2) eventually, i'll be moving to the tepid sewers though... there's place just a ways in where rocksalt and his gang of raiders call home... but, once you wipe 'em out, they don't come back... anyways, in there you'll find lockers, shelves, beds, a refrigerator, tables, and even a personal storage room... there's lots of places to display stuff and store stuff... it can get a bit dark in spots but, i'm so sick of the megaton house and tenpenny suite... i'm ready to mix it up and try something different...

...like stoic calling the lighthouse home in point lookout, mixing it up... i fucking hate the robot in your house... i killed him on my evil file and now he lies next to the medical table in my tenpenny suite laugh.gif... and i killed him on my other evil file that got erased in the megaton house... i waited until he got into the spare bedroom and blasted his ass... i closed the door and never bothered to open it again (but then it got erased... damn i loved the start to that file)...

Another place I like to post up is the Family's hideout inside of Meresti Metro Station.
Haven't been there in awhile. Probably something to do with the pain of being a vampire.

I killed the Family a long time ago after completing their related missions. I propped their corpses up on the benches like they are my audience. I can go preach to their corpses whenever I feel necessary. Brianna the Whore's corpse is laid face down on one of the center counters, bent over, incase I have any necrophiliacs making a social call.

It's also my dumping ground for all the Gore Bag contents I've collected. There is a pile of legs, a pile of torsos and a pile of skulls. Quite the morose place.

I have a shitton of Assault Rifles and assorted handguns in the little shop; a meaningless armory of guns I won't ever need. There are also a few other piles of weapon components I was hording. Thought about making a ton of unique weapons; introducing them into the retailers and caravans and seeing if I come across anyone with one of my custom jobs.
Massacre
I've got a pretty ridiculous amount of gore bag giblets myself on my evil file. I dumped them in my old home, the Arlington House. The basement in that place is filled with body parts, I mean filled. My villain can't bear to skip over a mutilated body part. He also keeps a reconstructed body in his bed so he has something to cuddle at night, and I took both the Contract Killer and Lawbringer perks on that file after getting Broken Steel last night, so the bathtub is slowly filling with fingers and ears. The funny thing is that I don't really stay there too much anymore, I just dump my gore there. laugh.gif

man, i always forget about meresti metro... i don't even think i've been there since the quest... it does have a nice setup though, with the private quarters in the back... does the bed become usable after you wipe em all out? because, i'd also like to use wilhelm's wharf too but, even after i kill grandma sparkle, all of her storage, the bed and even the door are still labeled in red...

I love Meresti, but for a living reason, Karl always has money and stuff to trade.
On my PC game he seems to have way more stuff than on 360.

If you killed Granny Sparkle good luck with the caravan quest in Broken Steel. laugh.gif

Maybe the PS3 will still have Split Jack there with his gang even without her.
I love having to knife fight that guy, a great one on one fight.
