Haven't finished yet, but since there's another DLC coming out, my guess is you're free-roaming after.

I better make sure to not finish, just in case.
If the new scribe boss handing out missions truly wants water at every province, and town,
that could take forever by brahmin. I haven't started those yet. If it's true, you're security escort.
bOnEs
i heard that it continues the game... broken steel is suppose to lift the level cap to 30 and allow you to continue rummaging through the capitol wasteland after the main story is completed...
DuPz0r
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS! I pissed myself when i heard about the DLC on PS3. Can't fuckin wait for that shit!

Yeah, that shit goes quick since all skills are almost 100.
There hasn't been any fear of death in a long time.
Almost to Level 28 now. I think Barter and Melee are the only
ones left that are not over 90, everything else maxed out.
Now to make the final perk decisions.

I think it's going to be like The Pitt, free-roam after.

I've unlocked the new locations and creatures and toys.
Looks like anything remaining has to do with all the water.
I'm still not finding any more Enclave, while roaming the wastes.
Looks like I wiped them all out at Adams air Force Base.
That could be a problem for those who love the armor and laser tech.
bOnEs
yea, i've maxed out a few skills but, giving me 10 more levels to gain will definitely get my stats to 100 for most categories... i'm close in quite a few categories too... but, boosting my SPECIAL stats to 10 would take some more work, thankfully there's a perk that brings all stats not at 9 to that level... i'm only above 9 in two categories i think... luck and perception... and that's using modifiers like the lucky shades, magic 8 ball, and the sheriff's hat...

looking forward to creating the ultimate character but, he's already a badass without the additional leveling... he can whoop some ass right now, and boosting his skills even more just turns him into a GOD...
§ynch
Well, if having no more quests available means we can still play
after the end of Broken Steel, I think I'm there....

Haven't found any new quests, but haven't gone to key places
like the Citadel, Rivet City, or the Jefferson Memorial looking for new work.
So far completed all 3 missions, and still playing / free-roaming.

1) Death From Above
2) Shock Value
3) Who Dares Wins

There is also a set of 3 quests given out by a guy
who I would have never found had I not ran into the
ghoul salesman in the Museum of History.
After his dialog you are instructed to talk to a scribe.
The scribe basically has at least 3 mini-quests.
One about the ghoul, one about Megaton, and one about Rivet City.
Done all those as well.

Darth Sexy
I'm still bobblehead hunting, so I'm yet to start Broken Steel even download The Pitt.

Good place for him. Mine's chillaxin at Le Megaton Luxuriou Suite as well.
Dog was good for making sure I missed no alien stuff at the alien encounter site.
Other than that he will die when anyone looks sideways.

Now my biotch Fawkes has to stay home as well seeing how I want to level up to 30.
I wanted to go with Charon but he is more psycho than Fawkes.

Death and killing in moderation. cool.gif

Massacre you finish Broken Steel yet?
Lots of shit in there you will have loved already by now.....
Massacre
Yup yup, finished it the day after I downloaded. Still leveling to 30, though.
bOnEs
i'm thinking of starting a diary once i get all the expansions... a daily/whenever-i-play updated story that reflects what decisions and locations and outcomes my character deals with... and with a little bit of story involving what my character thinks of the current situations he's involved with...

he's gonna be one mean son-of-a-bitch too so, some of his reasoning will most likely be, "because i can, and i hate the wasteland" biggrin.gif...

For you evil guys there is a specific option in Broken Steel.
To me it's more ridiculous than leveling Megaton with the bomb. laugh.gif

The end result it's the only way to get the Callahan Magnum, so that's good for you if you're evil.

Funny, I tried using my Blackhawk against Super Mutant Overlords and got pwned.
It's a pea-shooter. Went back to my fire weapons instantly. Flame On!

I wish they would introduce an online multiplayer addition to the fallout world It is brilliant alone, but mutliplayer DLC would be so good, if you could use your own characters, and fight side by side in a co-op style mission.

Eh, I agree. Don't know how it would be implemented and maintain the same level of realism, but it would be great to be able to show people your 'My Megaton House' and ridiculous collection of teddy bears.

Also, DLC related question.

Can I play 'The Pitt' after playing through 'Broken Steel' or will it not be available? (I thought I read somewhere that the Pitt must be done before the final mission in the regular storyline.) Thanks.
bOnEs
i heard that broken steel allows you to continue after you've beaten it so, it seems like any quest that you haven't finished, should be available once broken steel is completed... i don't think it would restrict you...

also, on the online gaming... i heard a rumor that bethesda picked up the MMO rights to a fallout universe so, it's more than likely in the works right now... but, this will more than likely be a PC thing...

Is there a story you'd like to tell us? biggrin.gif
bOnEs
i'm guessing he wandered into old onley, not expecting to see so many of em... he sorta ran thru after killing a couple and next thing you knew, there was 6 of them chasing him laugh.gif...

or lets try this (happened to me): he was too busy shooting enclave soldiers to realize they also had a deathclaw in the area... a few swipes from behind later and he died biggrin.gif...

...or: after teasing one, by shooting it with a dart gun, then beginning to finish it off, one of its deathclaw buddies wanders by to join in the fight after the action points were used up... instadeath!!
Massacre
Yeah, we've all had that moment on our first playthrough... Excuse me, I need to go cry.
TheAnalogKid2112
Well, it was Olney, but I knew exactly what was coming. It just pisses me off because I want to find the Nuka Cola Quantum truck but those cunt bats always find me, even with a stealth boy activated.
bOnEs
try approaching from the south... you don't HAVE to go through old onley to get to the truck... you can actually walk along the west side of the town also, from a safe distance, and eventually reach the truck that way if your approaching from the northwest side... just be on the lookout for the major road that enters onley from the south... you can't miss it... if i remember correctly, on all my files, there's usually a couple giant radscorpions near by, which will give you a marker that your close... plus, i think all the roads around there have sorta been rooted up from the ground, or are destroyed, lying across the ground...

Even with a stealth boy, they can still hear you. You need to either move slowly or take the silent running perk.
DiO
I might get this when that New edition comes out with all the DLC for the price of the just the regular game.

Technically it's Chaste Acres Dairy Farm (road) not Old Olney.
Just approach from the Republic of Dave, or MDPL-16.
No need to wander around Olney until you are stronger.
...and when you do, don't forget to check the Medic Armor in the underground.

I've completed Broken Steel already, and just went back to the Pitt to press more .308 ammo, so that worked.

I would say for 360 it should not be a problem. Just make sure you get distress signal.
But to me it made more sense to do the Pitt first, then finish the game, then do Broken Steel.

Heard about the various glitches, most were for PC, about DLC's wiping each other out.
Not the case for me, but I don't remember all the logistics. Use common sense, save games.

My ONE regret for Broken Steel is I didn't follow my usual saving pattern like with O:A and the Pitt.
So I cannot retrieve all that stuff I lost in the final area which becomes inaccessible when you finish.
That's probably why they have Tesla Cannons out on the airport tarmac in re-supply crates.
If you get any rare weapon in this game series, that's the one to grab. I still have 4 or 5 thankfully.

DuPz0r
I just started playing it again, going around finding side missions i havent done yet. what was the release date for the ps3 dlc again?
bOnEs
all i've heard is a late june release... with each remaining DLC released after a 4-6 week period per DLC..
TheAnalogKid2112
Note to self: Never shoot a plasma grenade out of a Enclave Officer's hand when you want to search his body later.

Lawl. I couldn't find the guy afterwards. His body flew hundreds of feet!
DuPz0r
I just took on a group of enclave with a shotgun and a ripper, and no health items. one had a flame thrower and the others had plasma rifles. I had only half health, but i thought meh what the hell, i'm gonna go for it. I ran out shotguned the first rifle guy, then devoured his body while the other shot me. I ended up with the same amount of helath as i did when i started. Then i hid behind a rock and waited for the next rifle guy to come tp me. He came over and i rippered him in the face and then devoured his body. Then last, i ran out, shot the flamer in the head with the newly aquired plasma rifle a coupe of times, then ran out of ammo, and then i just ran towards him with the ripper while he toasted my arse. I killed him but i was left with next to no health. But i loved every minute! I collected all their amours and repaired them into one stronger one, and then saved it and turned it off.

I love those situations when you have little to survive ono, but you still manage to get through it. They are the best times i have on this game.
bOnEs
love those moments too... the last one i can remember was when i went to fort constantine(?) (talon base) when i was around level 8-10... i must of made a lot of noise when i was trying to kill commander jacobs(sp?)... seems like everyone left in the fort met me in that hallway... i'm surrounded by talon mercs, i'm thinking about 10-15 of em... all of them shooting at me with their combat shotguns and assault rifles... pushing the stimpack hotkey as fast as i could...

by the time i was done, you couldn't even see the hallway floor, just a bunch of dead guys... my armor was completely destroyed (merc grunt), my stimpacks were down to next to none, and it took 6 trips to loot the place... gotta love those moments biggrin.gif...

I know what you mean. I totally didn't expect how strong that guy was. Luckily, I had killed all but one merc before facing him. It was ridiculous, cause I was using a weak weapon in VATS shots of 1 at a time, expecting him to die already. Didn't need a stimpak til afterwards though.
TheAnalogKid2112
Finished the game last night. Quite awesome IMO. I made that bitch Sarah go in. Hahaha. I should have done all the trophies before beating it. Shit. At least I got all the side quests done.

woah... it's like a whole new game!! it's like a horror game set in the fallout universe!! and visually, it definitely looks different from the wasteland... i think bethesda might have a winner with this one... i can just imagine the unique weapons... pitchforks and torches laugh.gif...
Massacre
There are axes, shovels, and a new shotgun in the game, I'd love a torch, though. It really has a Resident Evil 4/House of 1000 Corpses look to it, that music actually sounded similar to an instrumental version of the song The Devil's Rejects.
bOnEs
i wonder if there will be flannel armor laugh.gif.. but seriously, this looks like it will be the best expansion... but, i haven't seen any mothership zeta info yet, and that sounds very interesting too... i just searched and watched a little clip of bethesda's E3 booth and all they were showing was point lookout and some rogue warrior game...
Massacre
This looks like a new outfit:

It'll look great with my eyeglasses and Chinese commando hat. laugh.gif
bOnEs
overalls?? yes!! biggrin.gif... this expansion i suspect will have the coolest unique items...
Massacre
One thing I'd like, and I know this is a longshot, is to get a house somewhere in Point Lookout. I hate making multiple trips back and forth with my loot. If I can't get a house, the least they could do is give me a locker or trunk that I won't have to worry about anyone stealing from...
TheAnalogKid2112
Yeah. I had a save file from before the end, but it was in Raven Rock right before I speak to Eden. Waaay long ago. Damn. I'm close to my terminal trophy. I have the BEST luck with hacking. 90% of the time, my random guesses are correct. I don't even think or pay attention when hacking. I just choose a random word.

I thought about it, and have some areas to do it in.

-Vance & Family - massive negative karma if you kill them.
Also robbing Scribe Bigsley and his safe, killing all the scribes in Project Purity
That would be for the evil.

-Roy's old place, and a few known scavenger's places to rob.
That would be for the neutral.

I don't know that's not really me. It is a VERY funny story about Level 29.99,
as I was just about to cross over. I had been killing every Raider, Albino Radscorp,
and Super Mutant Overlord I could find, then went home for the ending.
If you remember the surrounding area of Megaton has the 3 Raider re-spawns
outside of the school, and then above Moriarty's girl's place is the Enclave camp
with the parked Vertibird so I went for that one. There are Raiders on the overpass
above that area. Cleared out the Enclave, and a Raider shot at me from the overpass
so I shot him with the Tri-Beam Laser Rifle and heard the level up music......I was so excited.

This is very funny. Then I faced the Vertibird, and waited to get crowned. Waiting, waiting,
I heard the drums so I know the Level 30 menu is coming. I must have looked like a dork
with a goofy smile and toungue hanging out and as I stared at the Vertibird waiting to get crowned....

I got crowned....by a Raider XD.png
She was knocking be about the helmet with her knife, on my left side, and I went "What? Oh."
and took her down, followed by the 2 that followed, faced the Vertibird and got the real crown. biggrin.gif

All skills were already maxed at 100, so could choose nothing there.
Took the "Almost Perfect" perk which raises all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. skills up to 9.
bOnEs
that sounds like an awesome perk... considering that all your skills would be at 100 anyways, that perk can easily turn you into a MACHINE!! and if you saved the SPECIAL bobbleheads for last, you could easily get your character to 100 in every category, and 10 in all special skills biggrin.gif... that's something i might shoot for with one of my playthroughs...
