I did.
But the ingot rewards were saved first.
Then you move on to other quests.

Finish the quests, then save game.
After all game quests finished, you're good to go.

THEN, it is moving on, over-encumbered.
Only with the bare necessities of the rare finds/rewards.
Dumping any regular items of weight.

THEN go back home, stash your cool shit, then save game.

Then go back with BoS armor for the 300/300 weight capacity
to drag all the regular excess shit back home.
Because there is a TON of it available in The Pitt.

Then of course, go back for the teddy bear deal, and the ammo press deal.

The weapons available in this DLC are so cool.
Variations of auto axes, and variations of automatic rifles with scopes - the best.

More than one of each! What was it like 4 of the axe and 2 of the rifle.....cool. cool.gif

Most disturbingly, for the last few weeks, whenever thinking of
The Pitt, an old metal tune came to mind, Into The Pit by Fight.
Being a guitar player, it was the rhythm, bass, drums, and leads - not Halford and his vocals.
The tune has been haunting me for weeks. It's just a rocking metal tune.

Of course it's about the mosh pit - the best view of a band, as a customer.

It's just a fun tune I used to play with my band without vocals.
Gotta love instrumental-only versions of metal tunes.
We don't play together much anymore but we're all still gamers.

Rock on, and Game on. cool.gif

That's a killer fucking song! Thanks for that!

found the "wanderer's leather armor" last night for the first time on any file... +10 to small guns?! and the protection of leather armor?! ohh hell yes!! my female lady needs the protection and small gun upgrade quite honestly... she's having a harder time in the wastes then some of my other characters i created... not sure why really...

i guess it's her build since i am making a dimplomatic character... her skills are sorta evenly spaced out with speech, repair, sneak, barter, and lockpick the highest ones... at level 7 with a SPECIAL like 5-7-6-5-8-7-6... there's 3 bobbleheads in those special stats too... but, i am going thru ammo like crazy... i actually ran out of 10mm ammo for the first time ever... submachine guns are good at eating up ammo... all around, her adventure so far is proving to be tough on her... i'm going thru ammo and stimpacks like crazy, having to restock after fighting lots of enemies... thankfully the scavaging for money part isn't hard at all laugh.gif... i think it has to do with not using VATS every single chance i get... i'm spraying bullets around outside of VATS and generally trying to pick enemies off from a distance with the hunting rifle... but, it's still tougher than usual...

i wish i could join in the pitt discussion sad.gif...

Hey guys, I just found something fucking epic. I hope you guys haven't come across it yet: Exit Megaton and follow the outside border west. Keep going until you see a roundish rock behind 2 trees. Go up to it: "Open Hollowed Out Rock"
!!!!
Inside, I found some ammo, stimpaks, a sniper rifle, a note, and some other valuable items!
Anyone seen it?
Also, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go past Minefield! Take some Rad-X and keep going regardless of the radiation. Over the cliff you'll suddenly get a radio signal. Keep going and in a little crater is a fucking alien space craft! On the ground by the alien is a fucking AMAZING weapon called the Alien Blaster.
YahooO!!!!
bOnEs
NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!11!!!1!!one...

lol, actually we all know about those biggrin.gif... i asked for help from synch in this very thread about the exact location of the hollowed out rock... i was in desperate need at the time to repair my sniper rifle and i wasn't finding any in the wastes or in stock at various merchants...

i really wish i would of stumbled upon the alien crash site before i knew about it... i could imagine the feeling you got when you spotted the ship... but me, i kept seeing stuff about an alien blaster and did my research... it would of been EPIC to find it just wandering around like that though...

Oh, glad you found it in your playthrough. Yeah, I was pretty psyched. You know the feeling: You come across a new and exciting object, or just a huge stash of ammo, and you just smile. That's called greed, but hey, I was freakin excited. Too bad you've seen it though biggrin.gif

Have you found any of the rare guys yet?
Sam Warrick is armed with a sniper, and will be hostile to you.
Another guy is wearing leather armor, and is armed with a Railway Rifle.
I forget his name but it's pretty much the only guy I've seen carrying
that weapon that you can make yourself. Thing is highly addictive.
He is also hostile towards you. There's a whole bunch of random
NPC encounters, some will die in dog or scorpion fights and have notes, keys, etc.

Also Gallo is pretty rare, he's a ghoul with a bunch of Nuka Cola
artifacts like the girl in the Nuka Challenge. Get his key and there
is a locked room loaded with stuff that's good to have early in the game.
He's over by the small Talon base above the market...
Sewer Waystation I think it's called.

The Sewer Waystation is basically free money if you have The Pitt. 21 Teddy Bears inside.

Yeah that's right. 2 are in funny animal-porn position.
Another is with a cigarette, whiskey, and a gun....
I didn't grab them for Maria yet, I know that much.
My last play I grabbed them all and when you add the giant
teddy bear from Red Racer factory, it reduces back to normal size if mixed.
This play through have the giant teddy bear by itself. Not giving that one to Maria. laugh.gif

My giant teddy bear is stuck inside of a chair in my Megaton House. I can't get it out, and if I put it in my inventory one more time, it'll go back to normal size.

I haven't found any of those. I did in fact kill the guy in Minefield who had a sniper rifle. Also, there was this assembly line room in a building who's name escapes me, and in a lone room at the top was a guy with a signifigant name firing a minigun at me. That's the only unique weapon-carrying guy I've found.

Inside Red Racer Factory.

QUOTE(The Vault)
An over sized Teddy Bear is located riding a very large tricycle suspended from the ceiling above a conveyor. Either shoot it down or jump up the barrels used to find Deans Electronics. This teddy bear is noticeably larger than normal ones, and can make a nice souvenir to keep in your house.(Sometimes when you drop the large Teddy Bear, it will turn into a normal sized, small version.)

found out why i am struggling though, i bumped the difficulty up a notch biggrin.gif... not sure when i did that but, apparently i did... no wonder i am going through ammo a lot faster now, and having to use stimpacks more often... i noticed this last night when i turned off the autosave options for fast travel, wait, etc...

Yeah, traps. Also looks like at least one committed suicide.
[Skeleton with head in the toilet] If you love the plasma rifle,
there is a bunch of those traps in the game, GREAT source for
microfusion coils once you disarm the trap. I love finding those.
I started noticing bathrooms early on like at Super-Duper Mart,
as so much stuff is stashed in them.
I leave all the stall doors open so I know I've already been there,
and cleaned them all out. A lot of the toilets have cherry bombs,
but finding grenades and the .44 in the toilet tank is awesome.
The scoped .44 is in the tank of the women's bathroom in the
Vault-Tec Headquarters. Wherever possible I would jump up on
the toilet and look into the tank, while you're up there look down
over the wall to the others if you can. For the microfusion coils,
I just look for the wires running from the tank to the toilet.
PabloHoneyOle
I'm familiar with the toilet traps. I've found all sorts of stuff in the potties. I always check them. I also have found quite a few books on the floors of the stalls. Makes perfect sense.
Massacre
Bathrooms in the game are some of the best places for loot and humor. There are a few stalls that have a skeleton (or sometimes, a dead raider) surrounded by various chems. OD'd, Paulie Canatelli style.

On a side note, I've been playing drug dealer lately, selling my chems to everyone, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good dealer outfit? I usually wear the roving trader outfit whenever I'm selling things, but it doesn't work as a pure drug dealer.

It's on the freeway, the cages and fenced wire lanes. Can't miss it.
When you first encounter it, there are 4-5 raiders down there.
You can't miss the take-off cages, and there is stuff on top of them as well.
Each time you return there may be more raiders but if you kill the rats the
first time, they usually don't re-spawn. I thought the cages were some form
of trap to be avoided at first, but they are the holding pens.

I have a black female Megaton Settler doing that, but it's not from the bomb,
it was the very high good karma level. First she gave water, food, other small items.
Then she started giving ammo, grenades, and now I always wait for her to see
what is next. Missiles, 30-50 rounds of sniper ammo, it gets bigger and better.
She won't be dying in my game because she is heavily armed.

On a similar gift-giving note, I've tapped out the people of Arefu.
They don't have anything else to give.

On a role reversal, while I was always welcomed back to Meresti Station,
for some reason when I just went there Robert started firing on me.
That was strange, so I headed for Vance and the Family, they started firing on me.

I thought it must have been The Pitt download, but then I read that if the slavers
at the entrance to the Pitt tunnel recognize you from Paradise Falls massacre,
they fire on you. Of course I killed them all and opened the slave pen.
That's when I realized that I didn't do the Paradise Falls massacre until AFTER
doing the Operation: Anchorage DLC, using the Gauss Rifle.

So since then I hadn't been back to Meresti and the Family.
Maybe they were friends with the slavers of Paradise Falls,
so that is why they were firing on me. Man I used to score
big time with the Family store merchant. Kind of sucks, but
I won't be going back to kill them, no reason.

Awesome, I'm impressed.
One of the more subtle issues in Fallout 3, yet a big deal.
So, how did you do it man?
PabloHoneyOle
First of all, save before attempting this. I fucked this up the first time and I had to reload from the last time I left the Ranger Outpost (after killing that cunt Reilly). Then I saved right before approaching the alleyway, fucked up 2 more times, but then found a position; just at the beginning of the alley where I could snipe him without him seeing me first. I was also wearing Chinese Stealth Armor in the crouched position.

Got him, used the Infiltrator.
Since I know the area, I didn't need a guide, but I did take your advice using the Chinese Stealth Armor.
I think that made a big difference, thanks. I never knew where he was, and you can clearly see him.

First off I took ALL my Snipers: Sniper, Reservist's Rifle, Victory Rifle, Perforator, and Infiltrator.
Then I had to circle the entire block looking in windows. I thought you meant at the Mini-Nuke end.
He was above the scared wastelander's end of the alley. I came all the way around, saw him up there.
Looking north west, from the alley, I saw he was up on the second floor broken wall, over looking the alley facing south.
Took careful aim, all the while crouched in stealth, and fired a burst, it knocked him dead in 1 second.
I love the automatic snipers, now the Infiltrator is my new best friend.

Got the Mini-Nuke and all the mines. The scared wastelander now says: "It's so quiet here" cool.gif

Congrats. I wish I'd have known about that. I'm way too far now.

I was way too far as well! Just I kept some shit back.
Like the preacher, and the return to the Vault 101 mission.

For example, on this mega-killer play through, (3)
where I have EVERYTHING, and 70K in caps, I have not completed the storyline missions!

So I am REALLY wondering what to do.... (For the Broken Steele release)

Do I go ahead and do the last mission and
die
?
Then download the Broken Steele DLC on May 5th to be
resurrected
?
Or can I wait .....

I should probably just make a last save with all my stash, then do the last mission.
Then go ahead and do the download for Broken Steele next week.

One thing for sure, I want that DLC! Not just for the Level 30 cap......

War.......War Never Changes.

I'm getting this too.
I won't be home most of this week (staying at a beach house) so I'll probably get into this next week.

Synch, for the end of my game, I just saved before the last mission. I did the mission, then booted up that save and did the other things I needed too (collect all bobbleheads and explore some more). I'll load that save up again upon getting the new DLC and finish the final mission (again) just to see what happens. It will be interesting to see how they bring me back from the dead.

Thanks, good idea. I read something about it, but playing is believing.
Yup, sounds like a plan. My other two games have end-saves.
Guess it's time to fire up Prime again and finish up Game # 3.
This save will be the best so far with everything covered.

I know you killed Reilly, but after Operation Anchorage and The Pitt,
she pays for those GPS locations as well. I had discovered every
location in the game, (even Raven Rock)and when killing the preacher in the alley,
I went back to her place and got another few hundred in caps.
Still can't get to that Nuka Cola machine on the top level or Reilly's,
tried stacking shopping carts and all kind of crap.
Got a feeling my last Quantum is in there, I have 59.

Have fun at the beach house. smile.gif

I traveled to the northernmost part of the map today. Followed a path behind the mountains for 10 minutes only to find one Robobrain and a dead end. Lol.
Found & completed Oasis, my favorite mission of the game so far (probably due to the change of pace with the non-depressing environment.)

Don't know what I'm gonna do next.. I've just been exploring, following those never-ending empty triangles. I think I'll just do that for a while- Let myself collect a wide variety of quests so I can choose from them later.

Also ran into 2 deathclaws at Old Olney. UGH. I hate those bastards. Though I found a great way to kill them. You see, in my original playthrough, I tried killing them with hunting rifles/similar weapons. No. That'll take you 20 minutes. Instead, this time I used my combat shotgun and killed them each with about 5 shots. I only lost a quarter of my health. Not so intimidating after all.
Haven't gone back to that place. I ran away back to Megaton to sleep off the injuries. I'll go back tonight. May just complete "You Gotta Shoot 'Em In The Head" instead. I hear the place is filled with Deathclaws. I hate those cunts.
