You can proceed to Rivet City, just not meet Dr. Li.
Meeting her knocks out the achievement/trophy, you won't get it.

A couple of friends of mine at my Fallout forum
found one behind Megaton near the hidden Sniper Rifle.

lol, i've just recently join the fallout wikia site... i'm editing articles with useful information i've uncovered over the course of the game, that no one else has stated, like the main benefit of buffout IMO... this is kinda fun laugh.gif...

For sure, the Tranquility Lane part of the game always looked better evil.
There are SO many videos of that on YouTube, and 99% of them are evil.
The evil mask is very cool, much cooler than the ghoul mask. Wear it with
Gallo's party hat or the guy you escort from Lamplight's party hat. (Sticky)
There's an evil quest for you, finish Big Town, and teach them how to plant mines.
Escort the "annoying man" from Lamplight to Big Town on his 16th birthday,
and upon approach to Big Town he will leave you and run into town.....
On to the mines that they planted. biggrin.gif

Although since you enslaved Red, not sure if you will get that mini-quest
because the guy's whole pretense is that Red is his girlfriend. (Lie)

Awhile back I joined the Fallout Wiki, and while it looks cool at first,
reality sets in later. Like being a regular member of a forum when you're an
admin on another, it's just very disturbing to have some guy delete your article
because he missed what you caught. Those guys re-wrote everything I posted
then deleted mine. I've stopped writing for them, they deleted everything I wrote up.
Other than the Wiki , the forum I referred to is Fallout 3 Zone
If you list me as your referral when you join, e-points down the line.
It's very small but easier to follow that way, they are a good group.
§ynch is my profile.

Over at IGN, http://guides.ign.com/guides/882301/
the head guy is named Colin, and he's very cool. Write to him
about your findings, and he properly updates his guides with your info.
He just updated his pages with the Anchorage DLC for Fallout 3.
All my buds are playing that right now, I haven't downloaded yet.

I first met Colin when doing Minefield, and I found that if you kill
Arkansas, he has keys to every house there, and they are
loaded with ammo (.308/.44) and tons of stuff to sell for caps.
The only key that Arkansas does not have,
you will find later in the Newspaper building in Le Enfant South,
where Mr. Gibson is. He has the key to the tiny model house in
the living room of the Gibson House in Minefield.

But Colin didn't know that because he, like you, is playing evil,
and would rather ENSLAVE people. laugh.gif

even the evil guys should know about the key... when you enslave someone, you get the option to talk the person into letting you carry their gear... arkansas gave me the key he was carrying biggrin.gif...

as far as wiki goes, i'm not joining up to post a bunch of stuff, i just noticed that they needed some photos for certain armor/gear... so i provided those, and just put additional quick blurbs on certain things... i don't really care what they do to my content really, i just wanted to contribute a little...

lol, you should stroll thru old onley up north, near the republic of dave... there's about 8 of em wandering around the town biggrin.gif... i'm actually planning on a trip to the deathclaw sanctuary for a bobblehead... i'm already scared laugh.gif...

in reality though, the deathclaws don't scare me as much as the mirlurks do... with a deathclaw, i can shoot em with a dart and take away their best trait... their speed... with mirlurks you almost have to get close to them to get a good headshot because of their huge ass shell... plus, the sounds they make give me the willies laugh.gif...

i'm more scared of one mirlurk hunter than i am of two deathclaws coming at me... and the mirlurk kings are extremely scary to deal with, especially two at a time... that's why it takes me a long time to muster up the courage to tackle areas i know are infested with mirlurks...

Hey Bones what do you think - after Moira's observer is planted in the
Mirelurk egg clutch, I always get out without killing any of them for

Not the ones guarding the eggs, but in the chambers below that you have

Yeah so on this game, I have to finish the book for her. (full quest part 3)
Then I'll go in through the pipe down below the egg hatch/spawning area.

I was never interested but this time, you know....damn Firelance might be inside.
It might have went inside the structure/interior during the crash.
I would send Dogmeat in but we all know how he loves to get killed by mutants and lurks.

Besides I found the underwater pipe entrance, and love to explore those.
I went in last week but it is crawling with Mirelurk Hunters--->quick exit. tongue.gif

In my last game I followed the friendly wastelander's note to the
Mirelurk King's fortune....and it was shit. Like I had all that stuff.

By the way did you ever read the PM I sent about the Megaton
hollowed out rock Sniper? This time it's the first place I went,
and on any difficulty setting, the rifle is there, not just the ammo.

Mirelurk fun: Rock-It Launcher using pencils to the face. laugh.gif

i honestly believe that if you make dogmeat wait a ways back from the monument and go there, killing all the mirelurks out in the open and in the water, you can then send in dogmeat to search for you... i read some stuff about the memorial and the alien crash and all of em said they found the weapon near the statue...

i'd just save the game before you send in dogmeat in case you do have to clear out the inside of the monument... but, once you clear out the monument, they don't re-spawn... they're gone forever...

that reminds me of why i hate mirelurks so much... it has to do with my first visit to vault 92 months ago... i had just entered the living quarters when i spotted a mirelurk just ahead of me... i shot him with a dart and when he turned towards me, i capped him in the head with my xuanlong rifle... well, i must of made a lot of noise because the next thing i know, 4 or 5 of those things come flying around the corner all swatting, slashing, and hacking at me... i'm pushing the hotkey for stimpacks constantly, all while unloading my combat shotgun, reloading, and unloading again... for about 10-15 seconds i was completely scared the fuck out... i've never felt the same since then about mirelurks... it's the reason why i hate them so much laugh.gif...

i can kill em with ease now that my guy is a level 19 badass but, i still venture cautiously when i hear the sound they make that sends chills down my spine biggrin.gif... i am constantly reminded of that fateful moment in vault 92... lol, when i went there on my evil file though, i used the "white noise" flush because i didn't want anything to do with that situation again laugh.gif...

only 6 trophies away from the platinum!! here's the ones i have left to get:

1. completed reilly's rangers
2. completed oasis
3. kill all the behemoths (i've killed 3 so far)
4. collect 20 bobbleheads (collected 16 so far)
5. 50 successful speeches (at about 40 now)
6. hacked 50 terminals (at about 25)

i don't know, in maybe a couple weeks i'll have these remaining trophies?! it's kinda hard to judge since i still have a lot of terminals left to hack... but, with a science of 100 (with a certain labcoat), there isn't a terminal i pass that i can't hack so, maybe it will be the speech trophy that'll keep me from finishing this off since, i am at a point where i've explored most of the map but, am running out of places to speech people...

has anyone tried that trick i mentioned earlier where you can remove the duds when hacking? even on a "very hard" terminal, i can remove most of the choices to where i've got 4 guesses between 5-6 words... it makes hacking super easy biggrin.gif...

EDIT: i did "trouble on the homefront" last night and had an interesting outcome... i
did what butch mentioned i should do and flushed the water chip, forcing everyone to evacuate
but, i also killed the first overseer back when i still lived in the vault so, that "mack" guy was the new overseer... when i went to talk to him first, he turned hostile and jericho blasted a cherry stain on the back wall with his brains... so i did what i mentioned in the spoiler tag and now the vault door remains open permanently!! so, instead of banishment for life, i can now come and go as i please laugh.gif... a little odd... at first, i didn't think i was gonna pass the mission because it didn't close... but i did and now i can go back in there any time i want...

lol, and i checked wikia and i guess others have done the events in a certain way to force this to happen... i thought i was on to something big at first, until i saw that others have done the same...
Darth Sexy
Just found and did the Big Town mission. Gotta find Little Lamplight next. I was in the right area, but got buttraped by some Super Mutants. Also, I should really haul arse to Paradise Falls....and Tenpenny Tower. I could also consider doing the main story at some point. Still haven't gone to see if Dad is in the Memorial.

The Flamer rules in general.
I always carry the 3 fire devices
Flamer, Shishkabob, and Zhu-Rong v418.
Took the Pyromanic perk early on this time.

not i... i have just been using small guns for the most part... i'll occasionally bust out the big guns but, i just love that damn "blackhawk" so much that i really don't use much else... and with that level 20 "grim reaper" perk that instantly replenishes my action points upon a VATS death, i am a GOD out there with the blackhawk...

Got all the achievements my 2nd game.
Those 3 are called Data Miner, The Bigger They Are…and Vault-Tec C.E.O.
Terminals and Bobbleheads are easy.
Behemoths are all easy if you kill them normally, but being creative-
There's a fun way to do Takoma if you find the bus with control switch in time....

With achievements there's some that depend on the 3 levels, good/neutral/bad karma.
This play through reached all the levels as good. Level 20 now.
Example, 2 games but same sign-in name, from my list of achievements:

Game 2 - Mercenary
Reached Level 8 with Neutral Karma
Game 3 - Protector
Reached Level 8 with Good Karma
so yours will read:
Reaver
Reached Level 8 with Bad Karma

There has been 4 new ones added for the DLC:

Aiding the Outcasts
Completed "Aiding the Outcasts"

The Guns of Anchorage
Completed "The Guns of Anchorage"

Paving the Way
Completed "Paving the Way"

Operation: Anchorage
Completed "Operation: Anchorage"
bOnEs
i got all the good/neutral/evil karma trophies... lol, i kind of exploited those when i played... when i was about 50XP or so away from leveling up, i'd save my game... then i would adjust my karma level accordingly and then level up and unlock that trophy... reload the save and repeat for a different karma level... pry the toughest part of that was having to start a fresh new file to reach the level 8 karma trophies because i never thought about that exploit until after i passed level 8...

speaking of being creative, i am down to just the takoma park behemoth... but, in the capitol building, where one of the big beasts reside, i found a terminal that turned on the turrets in the room of the beast... lol, not only did it take down the behemoth but, they also took down all the super mutants and talon mercs as well laugh.gif... it was a pretty cool sequence...

so, now all i have to do to officially get the 3 remaining trophies are:
1. one more behemoth (takoma park)
2. twelve more terminals
3. two more bobbleheads (energy weapons and small guns)

am i safe to say that you think this is the best video game ever, synch? biggrin.gif... with well over 240 hours logged into this game, i think its safe to say that for me, this is the greatest video game i've ever played biggrin.gif... and i still can't put it down... maybe after i unlock all of the trophies i might put it down for a while... lol, or i might start a new file, again laugh.gif...

Dude, you don't even know, it's that bad.
I was never an RPG gamer, but probably played every FPS or sci-fi game ever.
This RPG + FPS combination in Fallout 3 is awesome, I'm still obsessed.
My GTA forum moderators and members are wondering when I'm "coming back".
As admin, they think I am AWOL with Fallout 3. "He'll come back".....
I have GOT to pay attention to the GTA:IV Lost and Damned DLC.

Meanwhile....... TURRETS??? Man you gotta kill the Capital building Behemoth by hand!
That was so much fun. For once Talons are not trying to collect on your head, they
are fighting the Muties and Behemoth along with you. I'll never forget that hallway
leading into the open area with the turrets. What a scene that is, gaming history.
Behemoths are some of the only times I use the Fatman or MIRV.

Yeah I got it so bad, I bought the PC format of the game.....
While I used to be a PC gamer using mouse and keyboard, years of PS2 GTA 100% completions
had me buy a USB controller in the PS2 style for playing San Andreas on PC.
Now I have for the PC version of Fallout 3 the wireless XB 360 decoder, so I can use my existing
XB Elite controller, and can't wait to try it out, when life and time will permit. (I spend too much time gaming)

That kind of explains why I like playing as a femme fatale in Fallout 3. Many years of looking at a
dude's backside while running. Gh3y. All games seem to be some dude. Sure, CJ's exo-skeleton
was pretty awesome to get buffed out and change size and clothes and all that, but it's still a dude.
Now I get to (be a pervert) play as and watch my fine chica's ass as she Black Widows every guy including myself.
Yes I know about the Japanese fighting games with those hot anime babes but this is different.
It's just the coolest thing ever. I love looking at the ladies and the character artwork is amazing in this game.
Needless to say, when not in combat mode, she is required to run around in her bare necessities. tongue.gif

i'm not a fan really of RPG's either but when i read the reviews they said its not your traditional RPG... and they were right!! it kinda has turned me into an RPG fan... so much so that, i might give em a second chance if one of them catches my eye someday...

and yea... turrets man... i killed the evergreen mills, GNR, and jury street metro behemoth with the fatman (also, really the only time i use fatman besides blowing up enclave vertibirds biggrin.gif)... i thought i'd take it easy for once and let the machines take care of the capitol building one biggrin.gif...

i am seriously gonna buy fallout 3 for the PC when i get a new one, one of these days... i want to download that GECK editing program so i can create my own little side quests within the game...

and STILL finding new things!

More un-accessable stuff:
1) Rad-X in a bucket, the bucket stuck half inside a wooden shelf of the National Armory Bunker.
2) A copy of Grognak the Barbarian out of reach behind a crate in Vault 106
3) 2 crates can't be accessed under a railing in Mama Dolce's factory

The weirdest thing...if you don't steal or touch anything in Megaton,
on a good karma game, none of the citizens disappear. Can't believe it.
Level 20 and they are ALL still there - Simms, Walter, Nathan, Colin, even ya boy Jericho!

Give a guy's secret love letter you can find, to his wife, she freaks out,
and goes and kills her husband and his lover.
(The blonde woman who can be found in a different man's bed every night.)
Then the jealous murdering wife gets killed by Tenpenny Towers Security,
thus eliminating 3 out of the 4 residents that you have to convince to let the ghouls move in.
No karma loss, can still get the achievement. Shit like that is just unbelievable.

Uncle Ted continues to appear a different place each game.

"Uhhh, Hello, Little SISTER!"...

"Uhh, maybe...you don't know...where we come from....Super Mutants, that is."

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki <-- it'll save ya $20 laugh.gif... although, a guide might be pretty useful for this game since it will be walking with you instead of you walking where the game takes you, then looking it up... but, that website is jam packed full of information that more than likely won't be found in the guide... maybe it's best to buy a guide, and frequent the site too...

I just got my copy today with my 360 elite.
Im loving this game already!

I've only taken down one Behemoth so far. Might have to travel to Evergreen Mills. Last time I attempted to enter the Capitol Building I got slaughtered before I reached the stairs.

Vault 106 was also fucking confusing. Took me about an hour to find the goddamn Survivor with the +5 science coat. The bobblehead was easier to find, though.

That big guy can be fun, Sexy. Try to sneak in from high up on the wooden plank over head.
There's a nice combustible generator conveniently next to the cage lock Jumpy.gif Watch the Raiders fly.

Don't forget to check out the bazaar afterwards - Smilin' Jack, his "Terrible Shotgun", and your next bobble head.

smiling jack's terrible shotgun is my main close quarters weapon on the big enemies... it can take down a sentry bot in like 4 shots, which is pretty cool... none of the other small weapons can deal that kind of damage to a sentry bot... the only problem is you have to get pretty close since the bullet spread is pretty wide...

you forgot one, synch laugh.gif...

what did you think of the drug induced flashbacks? check out vault 108 next and get to know gary laugh.gif...

i am currently navigating vault 87, but not saving at all... i need to get to the energy weapons bobblehead to complete the bobblehead head trophy, and to earn the platinum trophy... that bobblehead is all i have left biggrin.gif... hooray!! and yea, taking down the takoma park behemoth was pretty damn fun with that artillery switch laugh.gif...

I've done all the sidequests (except for the stupid nuka cola one, fuck that 30 bottles is too much work) and most of the main ones, not much else to do in this game. Already got the T1b armour etc.. and killed all the behemoths. The rest of the trophys is for stupid shit like finding all the bobbleheads etc..

Got a lot of hours out of this game, was quite good. Haven't had a very long good single player experience since GTA 4, and that wasn't that long, but it was fun

On my current game I haven't done Nuka Cola Challenge yet, but explored plenty.
Wanted to save up the Quantum and right now I have over 40. She'll need 30.

Won't be doing that side quest until I have both Nuka Grenade schematics,
that way when she gives me my last (third), every time I use a valuable
Nuka Quantum it will make 3 grenades.

i screwed myself out of that last schematic by giving my quantum to ronald laugh.gif... twas a funny sequence back in the shack once he went in there... sierra was totally oblivious to his advances, lol...

but, i've got about 15 quantums still and about 8 nuka-grenades, even after giving 30 of em to ronald... i've also got 3 quantums littering my tenpenny suite too... but those nuka-grenades are awesome!!

Just throwing this out there. I absolutely despise Mirelukes.
TheAnalogKid2112
Mirelurks are bastards, but once you figure them out, they're not a problem. There's just too many of them. I use a hunting rifle to the face and it takes them out in 2 shots.
Darth Sexy
I somehow ran out of .308 ammo. I still don't know how.

The ghouls have taken over Tenpenny tower...is it possible to still get the Tenpenny Suite?

not if tenpenny died at the hands of roy phillips... you would have had to kill him yourself, or reverse-pickpocket a different better suit... or if you had started the "gotta shoot em in the head" quest, killing tenpenny would of been one of your goals... but, once the ghouls take over, tenpenny will be removed completely from the game, and so will his... ...wait a sec, your talking about the tennpenny house, aren't you? laugh.gif if you already have the megaton house, you can't have the tenpenny suite... the game won't let you have both... you can still sneak in there from the balcony but, it rather pointless...

lol sorry...

you and me both... the sound they make sends chills down my back laugh.gif... i posted this a while back but, here's the main reason why i hate mirelurks... this and that damn sound they make... *shutters*
QUOTE(bOnEs @ Feb 4 2009, 03:52 PM)
i hate mirelurks so much... it has to do with my first visit to vault 92 months ago... i had just entered the living quarters when i spotted a mirelurk just ahead of me... i shot him with a dart and when he turned towards me, i capped him in the head with my xuanlong rifle... well, i must of made a lot of noise because the next thing i know, 4 or 5 of those things come flying around the corner all swatting, slashing, and hacking at me... i'm pushing the hotkey for stimpacks constantly, all while unloading my combat shotgun, reloading, and unloading again... for about 10-15 seconds i was completely scared the fuck out... i've never felt the same since then about mirelurks... it's the reason why i hate them so much laugh.gif...

I didn't run out of .308, I ran out of .32, or whatever the fuck it is which goes in the Hunting Rifle.
bOnEs
that ammo might be the most abundant ammo out there... since the majority of super mutants use hunting rifles and raiders use both the hunting rifles and the .32 pistol... lol, i am guessing the hunting rifle is your most used weapon biggrin.gif... if that's the case, did you ever get "ol painless" from dave in the republic of dave? just pickpocket his key and use it on the safe when he's not looking... ol painless shoots like a normal hunting rifle but, outside of VATS, the bullet spread is 0 meaning, wherever you aim, is where the bullet goes...

there's only a couple of weapons in the game with that kind accuracy outside of VATS... the other is "lincoln's repeater"...

---------

EDIT: hey synch, i forgot to mention this crazy situation in my game... you know ted strayer, the guy you need to get a key from... well, earlier in my game i had tried killing rivet city security guards so i could get armor to repair my tenpenny armor... sometimes, i had witnesses who would flee the scene... ted strayer was one of those... but, the funny thing is, ever since then, even when i needed to get his key, he would stand in one of the hallways, crouched over, fleeing... and he's been in that same position, location, and mode ever since... he's trying to flee... lol, everytime i go to rivet city, i see ted strayer in the hallways attempting to flee in his underwear laugh.gif...

i only got the key (and everything else he was carrying) off of him because, there are split seconds where he gets out of the fleeing mode where you can talk to him... but, if your not fast enough, he gets back into that crouched position for another few minutes... lol, i am thinking about turning him into the slavers just to get him the hell out of the hallway laugh.gif...

Ted is the "dude" dude. On good karma game he goes along with anything you say, no problemo.

Like when Granny Sparkles, Moira, or Crow is "fleeing", sometimes she/he will come up for air.
That point is when you can deal with the NPC in question.

Darth Sexy
Yeah, I have Ol' Painless. Still have no fucking idea how I ran out of .32 ammo. Considering I have 300+ Microfusion Cells, and use them a lot more.

Going to Vault-Tec Headquarters, then I'm going to Vault 92 to get the violin for Agatha. The bitch better put out, after all the effort I'm going to.

I finally received Fallout 3 yesterday in the mail (shitty timing with the release of the GTA4 DLC) but played through the beginning while the DLC was downloading last night. I managed to escape the vault and I have to say; I am already addicted. I spent all my time exploring the vault; collecting items; killing the guards instead of making my escape immediately.

I can tell I am really going to enjoy this game.

one small word of advice for vault 92... look for the sheet music in the bathroom stall (unless you already have sheet music from another location)... when you get back to agatha, ask for a reward, otherwise she won't give you the blackhawk... have fun with the mirelurks biggrin.gif...

it's pry best to save right before you talk to agatha in case you miss out on the dialog to get the blackhawk... it's very particular with your dialog options, and only one choice grants the blackhawk... just don't overuse the blackhawk unless your willing to pay dearly for repairs, or use a ton of scoped .44's to repair it... it deteriorates at a rather fast pace... almost as fast as the "terrible shotgun"...

i've invested 1500 caps into two different trade caravans (crow and lucky) so when i fast-travel to megaton i usually have someone fully capable of repairing it to about 80% for a hefty chunk of my bottlecaps...

lol, doc hoff is dead... i found his corpse just south of jury street metro... no clue how it happened but, i noticed him when i was heading down to the abandoned train cars to battle a behemoth...

So I've put off playing TLAD in favor of Fallout 3. Fucking amazing. I'm almost to Level 6 and loving every second. The exploration; the fear of tunnels, buildings and the wasteland; it's all so great. I'm taking my time with the quests and have completed a few. Looking at my World Map, I've barely scraped the surface. I played for 5 hours straight last night and didn't even realize it until I had to get up to pee and saw it was 330AM.

I've been on the Fallout Wiki all day at work today just getting background information, I'm trying to avoid major spoilers and just play the game as it comes. I can whore out for achievements on my next playthrough.

My biggest disappointment is the lack of.. goriness from Fallout. No dismemberment or beheadings :[
