I have played GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, but still can't seem te get a hold of that stupid flying planes.

I had some missions in SA done for me, because i just can seem to get hold of flying with a keyboard.

Never been able to finish Vice City because of some stupid mission called "flying dodo". Perhaps i will have some one do this mission for me and i will be able to continue the storyline of VC.

I hope they leave out flying missions in the next GTA!!
CygnusX
I hope there will be MORE flying missions in the next GTA, flying is easy and is one of the best things to do ingame.
Toge
It's easy to fly in the Ps2 version, imo. I'm not really into the Pc versions of the GTA games, so it's hard for me to fly with the keyboard controlls.

I agree. I couldn't finish Vice City either. I hate flying in these games they should either make it fun or drop it. They should never have made it necessary to do Flying School to finish the story missions, I did it eventually but it was more like working than enjoying yourself! At least in VC you could finish the story and just forget about the flying. wallbash_red.gif

I totally agree with CygnusX, flying is so easy and fun as well. thumbup.gif

The more flying the better i say, bring on the next one. cool.gif

This is my opinon:

Flying in SA: clap.gif
DeKo
flying in VC is great.. i love flying over people in the skimmer in vcmp...

i havent had time to try flying in SA yet, my graphics card is still fucked..
Emperor
Flying for me is very easy on the keyboard, though I have a saitek joystick as well.

I used to and still do play flight simulator 2004 a lot, so that may help me a bit.
bubba
Have you tried flying in a sandstorm. A touch tricky...
SwedishMafia
...Even trickier: stunt in forests with a shamal ...or try to dodge heatseeking missiles with one after flying over restricted area.
arP1987

Even tried landing in one ?
SwedishMafia
Keyboard + mouse: sucks, as you say arP1987

Turn of mouse steering and then fly with keyboard alone.

only keyboard= rules
Axonis
Yes. Control speed and direction with WSAD, control Pitch and Yaw with Up, Down, Left & Right.
The Butcher
maybe i will buy a joypad....
Akumu
I'm glad you guys who are actually enjoying this flying crap on the PC like it, but its utter hell to me. I HATE flight sims, and have never had any interest to fly. Once I got to the Zoltan or whatever (David Cross) mission, and had to fly that stupid remote control plane, I was totally pissed and almost quit playing the game until other people told me that mission wasn't important to continue playing. So I went back to enjoying the game, and skipped that mission. Now am at the stupid mission where I have to do the dumb air-craft training and have been trying for three hours without getting very far. This is totally infuriating at how backwards the controls are - its like being mentally retarded and asked to write an essay in cursive.

wallbash_red.gif

If I can't make it through this - or I make it through and there is too much more of it I'm going to be very disappointed. The game is great besides this. GTA: SA for the PC is my first GTA experience and I was completely loving every part of it until this flying crap! I've spent over $300 this month on new games, that are just sitting on a shelf collecting dust, because I keep coming back to this game, but now this is just getting to be too much.

Since when did this become GTA (Grand Thief Airplane) anyway? You people who like flying planes so much should go play MS Flight sim. sad.gif
Kleaver
Oh, your first GTA, that explains some of it...not that the flying is comparable to other GTA games though...but you can just give us your savegame and im sure someone will atleast get all bronze on the flight school.
the_chosen_one55
Akumu just buy a ps2 usb adapter and download a prog called saac 1.2, when I had everything configured correctly I was like omg all the keyboard gamers must be clinically insane, in conclusion ps2 usb adapter + mouse = the way to go.

or you can download a 100% save file.
Punner
Flying truly is the best way to waste some time.. flying upsidedown under bridges on a highway.. thats a challenge smile.gif
The Butcher
No thanx, just give me a car or a motorbike!
AngryChicken
I only fly when I need to get from one end of the map to another.

If I take a motorcycle or car, chances are I'll trash it. tongue.gif
rarararar
PC flying is easy

both hands on the keyboard, wasd and the arrow keys, use q and e to rotate and keep it steady with arrow keys, just takes a little practise.

also remember some have landing wheels, use 2 to make them go up and down, as it affects flying
The Butcher
i just don't have the patience to learn to fly...

I didn't find flying on the ps2 version very challenging, but the PC version is even easier if you've got a good programmable controller. I've got a Saitek P3000 which you can set up exactly how you want it.
SEB Soldier
I agree with people who hate flying in SA... I myself am an okay pilot in the game, and some missions in the game like N.O.E were wicked... But it ain't easy to learn to fly. And it pissed me off alot too in the beggining. Just keep trying butcher, and ul get the hang on it... It's pretty fun when you can fly properly smile.gif

Just Keep Trying

it's doing my nut as well, having trouble in the circle and land training mission i always line myself up badly for the runaway and fail with a crap landing. I'm used to flying games but always use my joystick something i wish i could do with this.
The Butcher
I am only using my keyboard, ad i hear everybody about controllers.

Is it much easier with controller than with a keyboard?
