I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS2, but any Photoshop should be able to do it, and if you know PSP then you should be able to translate to your program.Step 1
File -> New
Enter in the size of your sig, needs to be quite big, but not too big so it breaks the board rules
The important part is make sure Background Contents = TransparentScreenshot Step 1Step 2
Click the Text Tool
and drag out a text area, into this type your text. Make it a large font and choose a thick font like Arial Black so you can see more of the image.
to get the move tool to position the text where you want it. If you increase the text size and you can't see it anymore, decrease the text size and expand the text area, then re-increase the size. It does not matter what colour the text isScreenshot Step 2Step 3
and click on the Layer Icon screenshot
. This should select your text. As show in the screenshot below.
If it hasn't try again, make sure you click the layer icon whilst holding control.Step 4
Find the image you want to use inside the text.
I will be using this one
Copy the image
Go back to your image and make sure the text is still selected. Go to Edit -> Paste Into screenshot
You should get something like thisStep 5
to move the pasted image to where you like it. Press CTRL + T
the image to fit. Once you have it positioned you should get something like.
Yours should be better if you chose a better imageStep 6
Apply effects to the layers as you choose until you get an image you like, such as strokes, bevels etc.Step 7
all the layers into one.
to move the image to somewhere with lots of room underneath for the reflection.
Now Right Click
, Duplicate Layer
Then go to Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertical
to move the reflection to where you want it.Step 8
On the reflection layer set the Opacity to a low number
, I use 35%
Then go to Layer -> (Add) Layer Mask -> Reveal All
to choose the gradient tool and make sure it is a linear gradient. The drag from half way down the layer to the bottom and let go.
When you have something you like go to File -> Save As
and make sure you use either GIF or PNG
to preserve the transparency.
And there you go
This shows you the sort of stuff you can make using this technique
