This is how i make some of my desktops
here is what we are going to make
(sorry image got shrunk down)
user posted image

step 1) file>new use any dimensions you want

step 2) filter>render>fibers i used settings

variance:16
strength:4

step 3) duplicate layer twice

step 4) select the top layer and change it's blending mode to multiply

step 5) filter>distort>twirl use a - number i used -316

step 6) select the middle layer and change it's blending mode to darken

step 7) filter>distort>twirl this time use a + number i used +270

step 8) press ctrl+shift+e

these next steps are optional they are to get color

step 9)layer>new adjustment layer>color balance click ok and mess around till you get some colors that you like (hint: try and use lighter colors)

step 10)filter>render>clouds

now you are done

side note if you guys start making tuts we might get a tutorial sub forum

Yeah cool tutorial, would of been better with screens of each setting though, for the people who cant find each filter type you specifed. but nice work.
