I wasn't sure whether or not to put this in the "Gun Control" topic or not so i just decided to make my own topic on it but anyway the "Stand Your Ground" law means that if you feel threatened you have the right to use force or deadly force. Now i support this law to an extent. On one hand it's good to have so people will watch what they say and thus will make for nicer people because think of it, would you want to cock off to someone and have them beat you up or worse yet blow your fucking head off, I think not. Now on the other hand it has the possiblity to produce some nut cases who will go around blowing people away for no reason and using the "I felt threatened" defense. What is your stance on this new law in Florida.

Input please

Well,
Clearly that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
Are you sure this is for real?

It straight out of south park. "It's comming right for us"

So all I do is go up to the prick down the road and when no one is looking yell "I feel threatened" and pop him.

It's a great population controll method.

I read about it in TIME magazine and my mom mentioned that it was on the news so yes this is a real law that was passed. Mind you that I am not surprised about this seeing as the govenor of Florida is none other then Jeb Bush, the brother of our retarded president George W Bush.

If someone is in my house with a gun, I dont want to be contemplating whether or not I can pull my trigger.

I support any law that gives civilians more right to defend themselves in any situation where they are clearly on the good side.

Well someone in your house was never the problem. The law clears citizens to use deadly force in public.I don't know if thats a good thing.

theres another law called the make my day law, where if someone breaks into ur house u can shoot em, but if they try to run away and u shoot em in the back u can get charged w/ attempted murder
Juice
So if you feel threatened by anyone you could shoot them and you will go off an innocent man...

So lets say theres some guy in a car giving you a dirty look, You could just shoot him and claim you felt threatened, Then go off with no charge at all?

Sounds good to me! thumbup.gif
certiorari
I am sure that law will be abused to the fullest extent.

Ok then, lets say Im walking down an alley, and some guy attacks me with a knife, and we grapple, and he drops it. Then, I pick it up, and he continues to come after me. I would gladly put it in his neck. I hope everyone else has that right.

The point is criminals should get what they deserve.

sorta feels like that one south park episode where their going hunting they kill animals and use the excuse "theyre comin right for us!" This has gotta be one of the dumbest things the Bush family has done. Their all a bunch of dumbfucks.

IMO you can only use deadly force when your own life is in jeopardy. Like when someone's in your house stealing your TV, and you come down and catch the motherfucker, you should have no right to shoot him down or anything. Unless he's pointing a gun at you or trying to knife you etc. Same with someone mugging you. You should have the right to chase and catch him, but no right to fucking beat the guy into the hospital.
bobert
Murder should only be a misdemeaner it would keep prison population low and control the population of people i dont like.
Edgecrusher
If someone actually attacks me on the street, I will defend myself, but I think it's pretty stupid that you could just say you felt threatened; that's just asking to be abused. If someone breaks into my house, however, I will feel free to beat them within an inch of their life, if not necessarily kill them, and I'll probably either get sued or do jailtime given current UK law. But they'd be intruding on my property so I say; welcome to the fuckin' jungle. dry.gif

Yeah, lets wait until he points the gun at your face to hurt him................

You can hurt him, but when someone's robbing your house and is no threat to you, should people have the right to just kill him? Just put him down with a baseball bat and hand him over to the police.
Young Escobar
Well um the "deadly force" thing. I support if you are actually threatened not "feeling" that way.
