Well, it's finally here. After being delayed for a year or so, GT4 hit American shelves today. I don't think the game was a let down at all....the grapics are superb like always, there are 650 cars, and the ton of new tracks are excellent. One dissapointment is the lack of an online mode. As you may know, it was planned to be part of the game but was pulled shortly before release. I did read somewhere that they might release an online mode disk that you could buy and install if you have a HDD. I am not sure if this is just a rumor or something Polyphony is working on. As for me, I spent most of tonight watching my dad play since it was his birthday present...but I got to play some as well and it's a shitload of fun. What makes things even better is that I have the Logitech Driving Force Pro steering wheel. The wheel's 900 degree rotation really makes the game so much better. I think this game is going to be a huge success and am glad to say it was well worth the wait.

Final verdict- 8.5/10 <would be 9/10 if it had Online mode.

Yeah, the game was always stunning. But the new GT4 is very sleek, smooth, and stylish.

I like when you finsh the race, the camera angles are very good. Love playing around with that. biggrin.gif

I heard there was a photo mode, where you can take pictures of your race, i was just wondering if this is still true. I heard this on a Magazine DVD. I hope its true (crosses fingers)

Yes there is Photo mode. There is a list of locations you can pick from such as Time Square and Grand Canyon. You can choose where to put your car and where to put the camera, change the angles, use filters, and a couple other effects to make your pic look good. You can then save the pic to your memory card or a USB storage device. I'll be posting pics of my cars on here soon! wink.gif

ooo, can't wait, i have to wait another 12 days till it comes out here in the UK.

Ok here are my first two pictures of my first car.

It is a 1986 Toyota MR2 Super Charged. This was my first car in real life which is why I bought it....only mine was a '87 and it was red. Hope you like!

Ah yes, the power of...superchargedness. Mr2s are good cars, congrats Gfx. Would Gran Turismo nearly be as good without the wheel though?
HHH
How many camera views are there in races? Is it true theres the 1st person view, the 'hood' view, and 3th person view? I really would like to have that camera so u can see trough ur window, seeing ur hood (like nfsu2)..

Yea the game is good. I got all the licenses, 'cept the super, and a nice collection of cars already. At first I was slowly gaining money in my '95 Impreza, but then I found (2) races where the car you win is valued at about 250K. I now own a 2005 version of the Ford GT 40, a Lotus Esprit V8, some 900 hp+ Nissan that I won...and some more nifty cars. I wish I had the needed equipment to upload the pictures.

Here is another pic i took. Its of a Ford Typhoon (Australian model)

Game looks amazing, I have to either rent it or buy it fast
HHH
is it true u can load ur licences and money from gt3 into gt4? cuz i have like 20 million in gt3 and 40 best cars, all licences... would be nice, but i think ill start all over again
FreemanXtreme
You can transfer the A and B licences and up to 100,000 credits but thats it. I actually think its good they dont let you transfer your cars because that would make it too easy and take some of the fun out of it.
DonkeyTits
I think it's better to start over. the license tests are different then the previous Gt's and you earn cars by doing them. It doesn't take long to get 100k anyways.
Randomly-Insane
awesome pics.

Must. Buy. This. Game.

There is an Impreza and a Supra. The supra isn't the star of this edition of Grand Turismo though.

This game, i am buying.
:drools: The level of tweaking in this game will waste so many hours of my life.
(Gear ratios last time took up hours in GT3, but i always had the perfect car)

Well I just did all the classical races under prfessional mode. the prize car was teh 1886 Mercedes 1 HP car. The top speed is 12 mph in second gear. There is one mod for the car, you can get teh frame stiffened for like 30k or something.

Edit: I also unlocked the last race in professional mode and I must say, the gap in difficulty jumps from about 5 to 10 from every other race to that one.

If anyone has beat the last group of races on professional mode, please let me know what car you used!

meh id still rather nfsu2 although the graphics are excellent.

I'd suggest sending a PM to GFX, he seems to be the local GT4 guy.

I merged the two GT4 topics. Next time use the search button shroomies878.

Well, for rally races you only race one car, there may be other certain races that only allow you to race one car but none that i can think of off the top of my head...just rally races.

Hudson- I think the cars sound better than they did in GT3. There is more of a difference from car to car than there was in GT3 where it sounded like they used the same sounds for multiple cars.
