So I'm thinking about putting together a new gaming rig in time for Battlefield 3. So far my parts list looks like:

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k $219
Mobo: ASUS P8H61 Motherboard B3 $99
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 $65 (does it really make that much of a difference whether I go for 1333 or 1600?)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $59
GPU: HIS Radeon HD6950 1GB IceQ $249
Case: Antec 300 $59
PSU: Antec Neo Eco 520C $67
ODD: Samsung SH-222AB SATA DVDRW Drive $22
Monitor: Acer V223HQBD 21.5in Widescreen LCD Monitor $129
Mouse: Gigabyte M6900 Optical Gaming Mouse $26
Keyboard: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard $29
Headphones: Plantronics Gamecom 367 Closed Ear Gaming Headset $39

Total: $1062 (AUD).

Any advice/scrutiny? This will be my first PC build. SSD is a bit out of my price range.

Yes I think the "fancy" Alienware cabinets are significantly rising the cost. And I personally think they are ugly too, so I wouldn't want to have them.
I don't want a PC that thinks it is a space ship. I'm not 16 any more.
