Committing a crime while high does not mean that you committed the crime because you were high. Nobody smokes weed for the first time and then commits their first crime. There was a predisposition to crime already, marijuana was not the cause.

But why are so many criminals stoned when they do a crime? Answer this and I'll give you a carrot (with some green stuff attached).

Weed is pretty common here, but speed and meth is almost totally absent. Weed is the big one, but some few use coke or heroin.

The majority, maybe 75-90%, of weed smokers are not doing other crimes than smoking.

Marijuana has been de-criminalized to a certain extent, in California.
(Which I miss, and am homesick to the maximum level)

There are no crimes involved, it is a natural, herbal remedy for many ailments,
and is also been linked to aiding in the pain of chemo-therapy in cancer patients.
Hence the multitude of medical marijuana dispensaries in that state.

Living on the east coast working for the man, to save money,
I still haven't found a decent weed connection out here yet.
The few I have found, charge three times the amount as back home.

I'm torn on the whole marijuana subject, a part of me don't mind it being legal, another part of me wants to keep it illegal. For now the "keep it illegal" side is a little stronger but it wouldn't surprise me if I change my mind at some time later. But I won't change my mind unless I believe it's right, and I'm not there now.

It irks me that it has to be California of all fucking places that wants to legalize marijuana. You can't own and/or drive an electric car, but it's cool to get high. Pssh.

I personally think that they should legalize weed across the country. Tax the shit out of it like they do cigarettes and try to use some of that money to pay down the national debt.

The war on drugs can never be won, but we can't afford giving up on it. It's a never ending battle. I think every country is too soft on drugs, even the countries that kills drug offenders. Just dying as punishment isn't punishment enough in the case of the big heads in the drug industry. I believe only cruelty works so I want to see labor camps on isolated islands. And for fucks sake, I don't talk about weed now, I talk about real drugs. But this is a topic on its own I guess.
