They all look sweet. For the second one with the room corner, the background out the window doesn't really match the camera angle. Just a small thing.
Also, do you have to create all the objects yourself or are some pre-made? Like the fish for instance. -------------------- |

Shadows on the second one don't look right and why is the rug misshaped? Still impressive though.

I remember when I was 14 using a progam that done something like that. We were making a phone. I couldnt even get the shape straight and neat, let alone add graphics that good.
Keep up the good work mate. This post has been edited by Captain.Charisma: Nov 3 2009, 05:45 PM -------------------- |

None of the objects were pre-made, i made the mini shark and the fish bowl too. Shadows on the second one don't look right and why is the rug misshaped? Still impressive though. The rug was just a quick photo texture so it wasn't in line with the model. We hadn't actually been taught how to texture yet, so i was just using my initiative at that point. I'm looking forward to some animated scenes from you, any idea when you'll get to that point?

I'm learning the basics of 3d animation next week. I've been doing a lot of 2d fundamentals atm. So maybe in a month or two i should have something cool to show.

Very nice @ all of them. I just started 3D animation in tech, (even though I missed half the unit) but I can't get the feel of the program, I find it way to complex and half the time my projects don't save...

Great work. I hate myself for not doing something artistic with my college experience. Business Management is for assholes.

You'll learn more economical methods for anim, or did you render at 1080p? Anyway props, I played around with blender a few years back (Big Buck Bunny?) but bummed out of the scene as it became basically pro. If you didn't know how to script in python and have a mini-render farm you were always playing catch-up.
First week - yeah it's your first week but shows creativity with a limited skillset 2nd is good although you could have spent a little more time on the chair legs, the table legs are nicely sculpted so it doesn't quite fit. In terms of realism the lamp seems over large, but the squat fish bowl seems to suggest realism isn't what you were going for anyway, the shadows seem a little harsh either way. 3rd: You've discovered how hard it is to make something look like it's actually underwater rather than just suspended in mid-air. Everything's too sharp, unlike... 4th: discovering motion blur, the pod racer's a little too chromatically indistinguishable from the scenery but the highlights of the hot engines are a nice touch. The focus is a bit confused though imo - it's the scenery I'd have blurred to give the effect of the camera tracking the pod, rather than as it is with a short focal length and static scenery. IIRC you've got an SLR, play with that taking photos of moving cars tracking with the car to see what I mean. wip - nice. Almost like it as is tbh =) If any of that sounds negative it's meant in the nicest possible way, like really looking for negatives in otherwise good work. Also I really envy someone with an obvious amount of natural creativity. I was into it from a game design POV, but was crap at the design bit. Then got a job (not in a related field). |

College/Uni is always worth it. Even if you don't make it all the way through, you'll learn a lot.
