That last one is pretty awesome. A mini-Mustaine to talk to when you're feeling blue.

And I know someone in Hungary who says the Metallica concerts are excellent... And he's a proper metal enthusiast, unlike me who is just a casual listener.

Metallica are sellouts, man. They care too much about their image. When they came on, they had this huge, glorified choral intro (same one they had in their guitar hero game [sellouts]) while the others simply came right out and rocked! And guess what, Megadeth and Slayer were way better. (I'm not blowing smoke; we did try to sit through at least 2 songs but left in the second cause it was a shitty song.)

Honestly, how can you compare sets when you didn't even sit through all of them? It's really hard and it mostly sounds like you already have an idea what you're going to say no matter what. That being said, how is a choral intro considered vain? To me it sounds like the extension of what they want to do, epic things. I would love to have that kind of shit done with any music. Metal is all regurgitated classical anyway... most modern music is melodically.

First of all, I've seen Metallica live many times and am just expressing my opinion that they aren't what they used to be live. I just think the intro was too showy but that's just me.

A lot of metal is 'regurgitated' blues as well. Just nitpicking.

Darn tootin!

I'm quite the fan of metallized 'regurgitated' jazz myself.

Speaking of which, tis good to hear Coroner MAY be reforming next year for a one-off concert. I wouldn't touch Switzerland with a ten foot pole (neutral bastards), but i'll be there in spirit.

I understand. One bad show normally turns me off for years for any band.

Currently listening to the new Danzig album. It's actually pretty decent so far.

Listening to "The Final Frontier" atm. I did the right thing and waited until it was released. It's not bad so far. Sounds a bit like Dance Of Death to me, but less catchy. Satellite 15 is an awesome intro, though, and i kind of wish the whole album sounded more like it.

Also, i quite like Blind Guardian's "At The Edge Of Time". It's a big improvement on "A Twist In The Myth" and "A Night At The Opera" imo. However, when did Hansi cut his hair? For shame.

Edit: Everyone, especially Darth Sexy, if you're out there, download/buy the bonus disc version of At The Edge Of Time. It's got an awesome cover version of John Farnham's "You're The Voice", complete with bagpipes like the original! Also, the demo versions on it are in some cases better than the album versions.
