Red Dead Revolver sucked balls compared to GUN. Redemption looks like it will be much better than GUN, basically everything GUN had AND all of the things it was missing.
I'd love to see a western game on the same level of GTA4 as far as size, length and replay value. It says it will be released Fall 2009, I'm betting SPRING 2010. -------------------- |

cool! i enjoyed red dead revolver for what it was but, felt the game was lacking something... i think it's the open-world touch that it was missing, it was pretty linear... this has the chance to be the western video game i've been wanting to play...

This should be very good, they are using RAGE engine after all. I've never played the original, or GUN.

Ok back from work, I posted this topic when I was at work, so I directly took GUN out of the shelves and started to play it.
It plays alright and very smooth, I've played to short to write a whole review, but I will play it in a couple of months to get in the mood for RDR. Going to work on a cool start-post this weekend. This post has been edited by W1ckeD: Feb 4 2009, 07:04 PM -------------------- |

QUOTE(W1ckeD @ Feb 4 2009, 02:03 PM) Going to work on a cool start-post this weekend. This is a good enough one for this site. Just because you rushed to create a post doesn't justify creating another one with the same topic. QUOTE Rockstar today announced their San Diego studio is set to follow up their 2004 classic western, with Red Dead Redemption; an adventure that is set to take players across the American frontier at the turn of the 20th century.
"The team at San Diego have massively exceeded our expectations with the sheer depth of experiences in Red Dead Redemption," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The seamless combination of breathtaking beauty and intense action, all woven together with strong plotlines in a massive vibrant, rural environment is mind-blowing. We think this game helps to push the limits of what an open-world gaming experience can be." Red Dead Redemption, of course a follow up to Red Dead Revolver, will fully utilize the RAGE engine, as seen in GTA IV & their Table Tennis title, and will embroil players in an open world environment for players to explore "including frontier towns, rolling prairies teeming with wildlife, and perilous mountain passes - each packed with an endless flow of varied distractions." "Along the way, players will experience the heat of gunfights and battles, meet a host of unique characters, struggle against the harshness of one of the world's last remaining wildernesses, and ultimately pick their own precarious path through an epic story about the death of the Wild West and the gunslingers that inhabited it." Fucking right. So much for this being a PS3 exclusive. Didn't think it was going to.

QUOTE(Destruction-Overdrive @ Feb 5 2009, 02:03 AM) So much for this being a PS3 exclusive. Didn't think it was going to. Exclusivity is dead. Sony and Microsoft have ties in just about every company that produces 'exclusive' games for each console. Money is more important than exclusivity and the gaming market for each console is too large for third party game developers to ignore. -------------------- |

Is this a PS3 exclusive game? I haven't been keeping up with the development.
I just hope you can kill Indians. That was the best part of GUN; taking away their video game land and lives. -------------------- |

This game looks promising. The trailer shows the game has a very R* feel to it.
