When you are done raging against the machine about GTAIV not having planes and unicycles, go check out Rockstar's "MCMXCVIII - MMVII" video which is a 10 year retrospective of all the games Rockstar has produced. (and why they have a sudden fixation for Roman numerals...)
Also, a post by Adriaan over at GTAForums has brought up yet another company that is/was working with Rockstar Games. Image Metrics is a company specializing in facial animations and 3D modeling. A likable theory suggests that these same people are working with Rockstar on the animations for GTAIV. Nothing's confirmed, but it wouldn't be surprising the least bit if they were involved with the project. Although somewhat unrelated, the Manhunt 2 site got huge update including new screens, a trailer, and "Patient Files" in the main site. It looks more psychotic than the first game in terms of thematics and characters. Read an article about Image Metrics in Develop a couple of weeks ago, looks like the shiznit. It'll make a nice change from all the bollocks facial animations we've had for the previous 3 games.

Well, actually, if you go to :Clients:Games you'll see that R*'s been using Image Metrics since GTA:SA (so that includes Bully too and all the LC/VC Stories)  |
