Well, GTA fans, the moment you've all been waiting for since the beginning of March has arrived, the absolutely stunning trailer of the latest GTA title, GTAIV. After a good bit of bandwidth bottlenecking and waiting for downloads to finish up, we finally got a glimpse at this amazing looking trailer.
I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These screenshots indicate that GTAIV will be set in present-day New-York-esque Liberty City, with such landmarks as the Chrysler building, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge. The main character is a Russian immigrant, and can be heard during the latter part of the trailer- "Life is complicated. - I killed people, smuggled people, sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different." Confirmed: Location: New York City (many landmarks including Times Square and the Statue of Liberty), under the guise of Liberty City (one of the cop cars in the video says LCPD, and a boat at the end also says Liberty City) Protaganist: Eastern European, male, white, moustache Graphics: HD and Incredible. Some quotes from this last hour from our incredible forums: "The graphics look amazing, The character design on what I presume is the main character is excellent." "The city itself looks amazing, its only when you see the peds that it suddenly looks like GTA. " "Think about it.... The guys indeed from Europe... with any luck LC.. or basically NY will not be the only place it is set in!!!" Some links: * YouTube link * ZIPped WMV file from Official Site * IGN's review * Official site * Our report, as it happened Stay tuned folks! -------------------- |

Looks utterly stunning, but Liberty City AGAIN? My hope is that they're redoing all of the previous GTAs only alot more like their real-life counterparts and adding another two or three cities on top of that to keep it sweet.

I definitely won't be surprised if they reveal more cities to come. That said, I won't be disappointed if they don't. This looks to be an incredible game.
The time-lapse of the trailer reveals a lot. Especially if you take it frame by frame. -------------------- ![]() |

Wow. I have a feeling this will be a taste of what's to come.
Sadly, there's no mention of other cities that may be in the game. *is hoping for Russia/London/European setting* -------------------- ![]() Add Me on MySpace if you're so inclined... QUOTE (Heartless on GTA4.TV) Unlike the mainstream forums, we're gritty, crazy sociopaths. And still approved by Rockstar. Most GTA Sites cater to a younger, softer audience (Zidane?), as opposed to this forum, which caters to bi-polar grandmothers with too many cats (Pyro?). |

I'm still surprised they haven't started with more of a clean slate. Personally I sincerely hope they don't revisit all the old cities, i want new material. |

Woah, Albino making an official proper news post. You know, i just gotta congratulate you on a non-drugged up finely crafted peice of er...forum post thing. Screw Pyro. Make this guy the news guy.
And who's to say he's gonna stay with a moustache and that hairstyle? I can tell you this. They ain't gonna get rid of the customisation features that were in SA. |

only a minute long??! wankers.
The game looks banging. I'm disappointed they put it in New York though, but maybe they'll have a London-Moscow thing going on given the European character. I just hope they didn't chose a European character to appease us and put it in the US to appease Americans. |

I downloaded that ZIPd file with the trailer and when I went to play it my computer went into super low quality and resolution and I had to restart it, anyone know why this is?

This looks REALLY good! any guesses as to minimum specs?
QUOTE('Pilot Lazz @ Mar 29 2007, 06:38 PM) I meant III, VC, SA and some new cities all in one game, actually. With hugely increased storage space using Blu-Ray and HD-DVD I'm sure it's possible. Maybe this 'episodic content' stuff will be the new cities, or possibly the old ones. Id been thinking of a mod like that. Id call it GTA-Home Invasion, kind of a WW3 thing, Cubans and Some Central American country's army(Nicaragua/Columbia, maybe?) attack Vice City, Koreans/Russians attacking San Andreas, Russians and some Slavic allies attacking Liberty City. Would have to redo vehicles(Rhinos shells wouldnt have such short range, vastly improved flight controls, ect). US would be allied with China(Russias commie competition), meaning the Triads are on our side(Wuzy, those guys in Liberty, forgot name). Also more types of planes, like F14/15, Mig-25/29s, SU-27s, usable sub(need sonar, torpedo tube specs, ect). Think itd be as awsome as the trailer looks. -------------------- JT:"I encourage folks to read Psalm 35, a Psalm of David, which is brilliant in its entirety (since God Himself wrote it)"
Jack Thompson? I knew he was out of his mind, but this is fucking awesome. Shine on you crazy God Warrior! |
