King of San Andreas, I've decided to go for it! Options

Since there isn't alot of information on it I've decided to use
this thread as a blog of my journey for anyone interested.

I am playing the original version of SA for the PC, no cheats.

I found this list defining the scoring.
It doesn't seem 100% accurate, as according to this list,
my score should be even higher than it is, but it provides the essentials.

$5000 = 1 Point
Killing a civilian = 1 Point
Completing a mission = 5 Points
Blowing up a vehicle = 5 Points
Blowing up a helicopter or plane = 30 Points
Getting Busted/Wasted = -3 Points
Using a cheat = -10 Points

I searched for rankings on this site and came up with one list,
but I guess it is either inaccurate or for a console system
as it doesn't seem to apply 100% to the PC version.

-5999 - -4000 = Bitch-made
-3999 - -2000 = Off-Brand
-1999 - -500 = Scandalous
-499 - -1 = Player-hater
0 - 19 = Vic
20 - 49 = Square
50 - 74 = Civilian

120 - 149 = Dry Snitch
150 - 199 = Transformer
200 - 239 = Punk-ass Bitch
240 - 269 = Sucka
270 - 299 = Poot Butt
300 - 329 = Buster
330 - 369 = Mark

So far my experience is:

50000 - 64999 = Ghetto Star
65000 - 79999 = Monster
80000 - 99999 = Big Homie
100000 - 149999 = Boss Hawg
150000 - 199999 = Shot Caller
200000 - 299999 = OG
300000 - 499999 = High Roller
500000 - ??????? = Godfather

My guess is it will be:
500000 - 749999 = Godfather
750000 - 999999 = Four star General
1000000 = King of San Andreas

I have just passed the 600,000 mark.
(It should be 646,145 points as shown below. Haven't figured out why not.)

My rank is still "Godfather" as I expected.

I thought 750,000 points was one of the breakpoints at which you move up a rank.
Now I'm not sure what to think.

On the bright side, I'm in the home stretch. Less than 8,500 more aircraft to shoot down.

im going for it as well although it will take me a long time. after 100% and conquering all gang territories over the whole map + nuff kills and the rest i was on just 30,000, with about $37/8 mill mainly from roulette.

i did vigilante in a rhino and got up to level 45 or so, and passed th $40mill mark. recently i got up to level 101 in a hunter and went from 45 - $65 million, but was still in hoo rider territory.i did it up to level 128 in a rhino and made $97mill (fucking thing flipped before i could reach $99), becoming a 45,000 point gangsta.

Go to either of the two Horse racing betting parlors.
You can bet up to $1 short of 10 million per race with up to a 12:1 payout.
Save your game at the house near the hospital.
One of the Parlors is south of the parking lot under the northern central highway junction,
just a block west of glen park.

Bet the max. If you lose, restart from the last save, in that house.
You can make $1 short of one billion dollars as the max.
$5,000.00=1 point, so you can make a max of about 200,000 points with money.

If I go by the chart in the first post, its supposed to give you 5 points.
I got that chart from another thread on this board.

But I just tried it and you're right no points for land vehicles!
I guess that explains the expected points difference.

Oh well. No need to up my land vehicle count anymore

EDIT Just tried shooting both police, and civilian and checking my scores individually.
I didn't get any points for that either..

PS: I think using manual with a gun, gives you more crinimal rating points.

You get the same number of points for shooting down helis with a mini as you do with a sniper rifle.
And all my tests on civilians were with various weapons, mini, silenced pistol, and the weapon you
can use while riding a bike.

After you kill people you need to save your game in order to see an increase in your rating. Or did you already do that? If there is no change then I dunno what the problem is.

I don't play SA much anymore since I got Scarface. But my rating is only 62,000, ghetto star. I was able to get it from 17,000 to 62,000 in a day but I eventually gave up because it took too long.

I wondered what you lost when you got busted, because you get your points for dropping choppers
as you go. Now I know, and (as they used to say on saturday morning TV) knowing is half the battle.
