![]() Don't panic, PS3 owners! According to Eurogamer, a source close to Rockstar North claims that exclusive content will be made simutaneously to go with the respected online services for Sony and Microsoft's systems. The article goes onto a speculative route and says that said content will include new mini-islands to connect to the mainland of GTA4. "Think of the world as a large island - the new downloadable areas will be like smaller islands linking into it," the source explained. (Which is a structural analogy, rather than a suggestion that the game is set on an island, we hasten to add.) Sounds wicked. Thanks to Kotaku/Eurogamer for the news. -------------------- ![]() Add Me on MySpace if you're so inclined... QUOTE (Heartless on GTA4.TV) Unlike the mainstream forums, we're gritty, crazy sociopaths. And still approved by Rockstar. Most GTA Sites cater to a younger, softer audience (Zidane?), as opposed to this forum, which caters to bi-polar grandmothers with too many cats (Pyro?). |

Adding more and more locations with each new download?
That sounds fucking orgasmic. Rockstar have actually listened to gamers this time and are giving us what we want. Fucking hell, I need to either get a 360 or PS3 just for GTA IV; if I don't get to play this game I will actually kill myself. I mean imagine the possibilities - rather than having that one island exclusive to the download, once downloaded it saves to the HDD, then can be played more and more without having to load the neccessary download content. The map could end up being bigger than Just Cause - that would be no bad thing. Cheers for informing us, Pyro. |

Haha! I'm too lazy to quote a previous post of mine that disturbed some X360 dumbasses. When PS3 is released, Microsoft will wake up from her illusions thinking she's the boss. Sorry to be this fanboyish, but it's rational.

I'm still hanging in there for a PS3 though. Personally I hate M$ and Sony in equal measure but I still think the PS3 will get the better GTAIV.
There was an interview with one of the developers making that game MotorStorm for the PS3 and he said that as far as downloadable content is concerned buying the game initially is just the start of a much much bigger world that will open up and be downloadable over months and indeed years after that. GTAIV will be the same, the game you get when you buy the disk this time next year will just be the tip of the iceberg, I reckon after a couple of years it will indeed be an entire GTA world sitting on your hard drive. It'll be amazing, there will be no need to EVER leave your home EVER again |

You do realise that the new content is coming to both PS3 and Xbox 360? Therefore, Microsoft don't have to worry about anything - please stop trying to create a fanboy war in a decent thread.

This doesn't suprise me in the least. I predicted it months ago, and it's now true. Still, nice of them to confirm it for us.

Tbh it really should, PC and 360 are supposed to be getting "closer" with Live Anywhere... this would be a perfect oppurtunity to use it. :/ QUOTE Rockstar have actually listened to gamers this time and are giving us what we want. I want to make a few things clear...
Numero Uno: There is no need for any game console/company side-taking in this topic. The article is just to inform the future PS3 owners that online content will indeed be avaliable if the source is actually not full of bullshit. (Then again, common sense tells us that DLC for the PS3 version is inevitable.) Numero Dos: No where in the article did it say that additional islands were actually confirmed. It's speculation among the editor's part. Again, common sense tells us that additional islands is a possibility. Numero Tres: There needs to be a numero tres. -------------------- ![]() Add Me on MySpace if you're so inclined... well, even though its just speculation, having new islands randomally appear is ... pretty stupid. Where did the land come from, did it just randomly appear.

Rockstar plan to release this downloadable content for free. When, and if, EA start to charge people for downloading content then they can expect many a letter telling them where to shove it. Why should people have to pay for medioka downloadables when you can get top-quality downloads from Rockstar, and be assured that what you're getting will be truly awesome. Pyrohazard; I am doing nothing but merely speculating and dreaming on the possibilities of GTA IV and the downloadable content that could become available. |

Where did they ever say it was going to be free?
To be honest, I don't think any developer should even start talking about downloadable content before they announce anything else. All we know is the release date at the moment and they are talking about adding stuff on two months after the game is out Reading the Eurogamer article, They speculate that each platform (X360 and PS3) will have it's own 'exclusive' content. Then they also go on to speculate that they will probably release the other consoles exclusive content on the rival platform, I'm thinking something like a timed exclusive. Don't see why they release it all at the same time, Unless they want to get people to buy both versions of GTA4...And knowing some people they probably will. I had absolutely no plans to wire my new PS3 online.
...no router, cables, whatever. I wonder if downloadable content can be loaded onto a pc,then burn a DVD to load the PS3, or a usb memory...I really would like a dvd load...then I'd keep the dvd with the game disc. My PS2 is running HDLoader so I have the online adapter in place but I only use it to hold the hard drive. I'm not much of an online gamer...it doesn't fit my lifestyle(whatever that means).I only would be online with my PS3 if that were the only way to get GTAIV content...but it sounds like a further expense. I wonder if RockStar would simply sell the download on dvd...much like the maps for MGS came on PSM's(a magazine)included demo disc. as for free?...I would rather pay for a disc than a download -------------------- .....
