X06 Confirms New GTAIV Details Options

Before you "console enthusiasts" (the politically correct term for 'fanboy' and 'dumbass') chomp at the bit over this piece of news, let me inform you that Sony themselves have not released any info regarding their versions of episodic content for the game. Until then, you 360 owners can divulge into this tidbit courtesy of the X06 event held at Marcelonia, Spain...

Rockstar and Take-Two announced they will provide Xbox 360 gamers with exclusive access to two downloadable, epic episodes of “Grand Theft Auto IV” via Xbox Live, each with hours of entirely new gameplay and available only on Xbox 360 just months after the release of the title.

I think they dont say anything about the PS3 because there isnt a lot of information about the Playstation network platform (i think thats the official name)

Surely it will come out on PS3 aswell, apparentley PS3 is bigger and better than the 360 in every way, so I doubt they would fail to include downloadable content in GTA (Playstations most popular game) while the 360 allows it.

yah, billy can throw money around pretty good. so many tittles have came over to xbox. not complaining, good for them. xbox owners can now enjoy them aswell. hope that something turns up as to more sony-gta related news. as i said before tho, i wouldnt want to pay extra for this stuff. and i also dont want to pay monthly for xbox live. i think its a bad move on R* part cuz most gta fans are also sony fans.

Could be optimist fanboy thinking comming from the Q-star, but:

Playstation 3 uses BD rom, which has capacity of 50 gigs.
Xbox360 uses HDDVD rom, which has capactiy of 30 gigs.

A lot a space, sure, but if Rockstar wants to wow us,could be used.

My theory

Xbox360 will need the eposodic content, because the PS3 version of the game will be over 30 gigs in size, too large to fit on Xbox360's HDDVD rom. To compensate, Rockstar will give them the two episodes later on, as they can download them to hardrive, and not have to worry about the 30 gig limit, which they will need so they dont have to compress art work, ect which causes image quality to go down.

Either that, or rockstar is selling out. If they are already announcing they HAVE THE EPISODIC CONTENT, and it will BE realeased JUST two months after the game, that means they ALREADY have the shit done, they just want people to have to pay extra for it. WHich is BULL SHIT.

Take the game to the next level, not JUST your profits.

It's common that developers and publishers do this. Oblivion, GRAW and Kameo have all had content released months after the game has been out. It's almost a year on and Kameo STILL has fresh content coming out to keep people playing the game.

I guarantee that Rockstar would have released this content for download on the PS3 if Microsoft didn't beat them to the deal. Disk space mean's nothing, There are some huge games out on the 360 that don't even fill a DVD9 yet (Oblivion and Just Cause)

You can't expect this stuff to be free, Rockstar aren't gonna work for nothing

Anyway, I hope these two episodes won't just be one mission per episode. A whole new mini story-arc would be cool.

Im the exact same, I think this is a big dissappointment, and ultimately a money spinning scheme.

I wont be buying these add-ons either, I hope others do the same. Once you buy these, there will be more and more things you need to uy to get the complete article, tbh.

Rationaly, there is no way to compare X360 to PS3! PS3 is better for sure. I think Microsoft needs at least 10 years to reach the popularity of Sony in videogame industry.

Fanboy talking. Have you not seen or heard everyones discussion? Everyone agrees sony is going downhill, espically with the ps3. The blue ray in the ps3 costs $200-300 alone, thats the overal cost of the whole 360. Sure you may say its good as its better quality, but its costing them more and its said they will loose $90 on each ps3 sale. Its estimated they will loose $1.8 billion or so in the first year of the ps3 sales. Think about it when the ps3 joins the ranks of sega. Im not saying it will happen, but theres a good chance.

Why are people bitching about the PS3's price? It seems that ever since that 600 dollar tag has been marked on the PS3, everyone is just flocking away from anything Sony. I remember my auntie bought a PS2 when it first came out for 500 dollars in 2000, At the time that was alot of money and still is, but did that hurt the PS2? No, it went on to sell 100 million PS2's worldwide. My advice? Just shut your bitching pieholes and buy a PS3 when you got the money.

As for Xbox 360's GTA 4, I don't think I would like to play it in sections, It kind of cramps the mood of the game.
