GTA IV: first details emerge
Monday 12-Jun-2006 10:07 AM First cast and crew details pop up on the hugely awaited San Andreas successor Halo 3 aside, the undoubted star of Microsoft's conference at this year's E3 was the bombshell GTA IV announcement, in which the Redmond giant boldly proclaimed that the next GTA will not only be on 360 from day one, but that it would feature ongoing episodic content delivered over Xbox Live. It was not only a great coup, but gave Peter Moore a chance to add to his impressive tattoo collection, but of course such an announcement could only leave us panting for more and the shutters came down swiftly as they'd risen. Well first solid details have trickled through this morning via an IMDBlisting for the game, with Rockstar President Dan Houser and GTA and Manhunt vet James Worrall being named as the principle writers. Also rather strangely listed on IMDB as 'crew' are Lazlow Jones, who wrote for GTA III and Vice City and starred as voice talent for Liberty City Stories and San Andreas. The final entry is writer Navid Khonsari who starred as the Porn Host in Max Payne 2 and has voice credits on all the GTA series as well as Manhunt. Although the details are a little scant, it seems like Rockstar is getting on board some of its finest and most experienced writing and voice talent for GTA IV, which can only be a good thing. That's your lot for now, but more details will no doubt dribble through as the game progresses. Source: Computer & Video Games Credit: ManBeast -------------------- |

Cool, they really have to pull something out of the bag though, as it isn't going to be on the same engine and so the graphics will be completely differnet therefore meaning it isn't as familiar as the other 3D GTA games.

QUOTE IMDB has made "predictions" like this before, and they've usually been proven to be true so expect some familiar voices in Rockstar's upcoming hit. http://ps3.qj.net/Grand-Theft-Auto-Voice-A...pg/49/aid/54865 Cant wait for this game. i do hope Lazlow is in it though, hes pretty funny. Guys, this isn't official. Plus, IMDB is notorious for being a pack of lies as well.
Take it as a grain of salt. -------------------- ![]() Add Me on MySpace if you're so inclined... QUOTE (Heartless on GTA4.TV) Unlike the mainstream forums, we're gritty, crazy sociopaths. And still approved by Rockstar. Most GTA Sites cater to a younger, softer audience (Zidane?), as opposed to this forum, which caters to bi-polar grandmothers with too many cats (Pyro?). |

I'm taking it lightly. Like Pyro said, IMDB is lame when it comes to having reliable news.

This is what I'm most intrested in, 'ongoing' episodic content. It will be like playing a TV show, hah. -------------------- ![]() |

It wouldn't suprise me at all if it were correct, its likely those two will be in it, amongst others.
Yeah I agree with psycho, the pressure on R*North to deliver on GTA4 is massive. They're going to have lot more competition this time around, All Points Bulletin looks like its going to be amazing and the first real challange to GTA's throne. Saints Row, looks like such a blatant GTA rip off and doesn't look that promising if you ask me, they seem to have good explosions worked out but thats about it.. However Just Cause looks like it could be pretty amazing, and according to this months Edge magazine really does deliver on the graphical promises thrown up by the trailer and stills. Just Cause http://uk.media.xbox360.ign.com/media/819/819377/imgs_2.html All Points Bulletin http://www.apb.com/ check em out. ps I think APB probably has the biggest clues about the direction of GTA4. Mabe they'll finally reveal Lazlow's true identity. -------------------- ![]() |
