Don't think there's been a thread like this before so thought it would be an interesting subject..

What's it like where you live? sleepy village or vibrant town etc etc?

I live in a large town in the north of England, called Chesterfield imo it's one of the best towns in the country.. we have the best of both worlds in terms of urban and country life.. Chesterfield is on the edge of the Peak District national park so the great outdoors is only 20 minutes away at most, but we are also a large town as I said and have a medieval market place and everything a normal town has like cinema, large leisure centre etc etc and we are also famous for the Crooked Spire, which is renowned for it's guess what, crooked spire.

Chesterfield rocks cool.gif

i live in Stevens Point; its a city in central Wisconsin; SP is a college town so you can imagine that there are plenty of bars; also there is a place downtown called "the square" which has a whole bunch of bars like literally right next to each other and in the shape of a square (hence the name); it is notorious for excessive drunkeness and fights; there is one major coffeehouse where i live called The Mission Coffeehouse; bands from around the area play there every friday and saturday and it is also the home of an open mic night on every first and third wednesday in which i take part in; it is also a good shopping town even if the mall sux cock; we have a few major events that take place during the summer such as Riverfront Revendevous (sp?) on the 4th of July weekend, a Rock the Brewery concert in which some major act from around the country comes to play, and a Brews, Brats and Bands event which is pretty self explanatory smile.gif

I live in a small town in North Carolina, Shelby. I guess you could call a typical southern small town.

We got the 'historical' town square with the Old County Courthouse and stores from the turn of the century. A small mall, and a highway bypass that runs through town going towards Charlotte.

It's near Kings Mountain.

I live in a small town near Nashville, TN. It's called Leipers Fork. It takes approx. 1 hr 10 min to get to school in East Nashville. There's nothing AT ALL to do. NOTHING.

http://www.leipersfork.com/

Okay, so maybe I live a little further from there, but still. It's the closest nothing.

I live in Tucson, Arizona, USA... it used to be cool like 10 years ago until a bunch of shitheads moved here... now it's overflowing with people. We almost have 1 million people living here now. It's quite boring... nothing really to do.

One of the oldest towns in the US. Gun Wavin' New Haven, Connecticut. It's mostly urban or pseudo-urban. Only suburbs you'll find are around the edge of the city. There's a Green in the center of downtown. Not too many businesses around here. But you'll find a lot of little shops and a good amount of clubs and restaurants. Yale basically dominates downtown, for the most part. Anywhere outside Yale's reach is hood. It's one of a group of cities of New Haven County that are just surrounded by forest, so you see a good amount of forest animals and insects around. It's not too much fun, but you do get the occasional excitement. I like it. :\
