A Rather Interesting Glitch Options

Firstly, let me say sorry for the lack of updates over the last week. As you will obviously know GTA San Andreas was released, and I've spent all of my free time playing that, but I've said all along that as soon as I finish the game I will be making a large number of new pages for the site, as well as writing an insane number of walkthroughs for various things. This news update was just something I felt I should share after I discovered it a few hours ago.

The glitch shown in the screenshot below basically makes you never bail from a mountain bike. There was ways to do that in Vice City with motorbikes, but as far as I know, no-one has found a way to do it on SA yet. Until now. Of course, the special thing about this glitch is the fact that you can do it almost anytime for as long as you want with the added feature of having a parachute open above your head for the whole time! Wondering how that's possible? Well it's really quite simple. It all involves 'The Chiliad Challenge', which for those of you who don't know, is the name of the race on a mountain bike to the bottom of Mount Chiliad.

What The Hell Do I Do?
Well firstly you need to make your way to the very top of the mountain, unfortunately this glitch can only be started during the times the race is open, which is between 07:00 and 18:00 (although as soon as the race has started, you can do it for as long as you want), so there's no point making your way there if you don't wish to wait a few minutes to do it. Once you're there, find the parachute, which is floating around the big pile of rocks with the peak of the mountain. Once you've got that, select it as your current weapon, then get on the mountain bike and start 'The Chiliad Challenge'. Don't move after that though, as the last thing you care about is the race. If you look to the left of the mountain, you'll see an American flag, as well as a little wooden ramp. This ramp will come in very handy. Speed towards the ramp, and bunny hop just as you touch it. You should fly over the railing and make your way all of the way down the mountain. As soon as you can, although give it a few seconds so you don't splatter against some of the higher rocks, bail from the bike, and pull the cord of the parachute. If done right your bike will fall all the way down while you glide slowly to the bottom. But wait... When you get halfway, the mission script automatically spawns you right at the top of the mountain! What the mission script doesn't do is remove the parachute you were using, so you're now at the top of the mountain, on your bike, but also on a parachute. What this basically means is you have the animation of a parachute (that's all it is though, an animation, it doesn't actually stop you falling quickly) as well as the fact that you can't be removed from the bike without hitting triangle twice. You can now jump off Chiliad using the wooden ramp spin and flip as much as you like, and you'll be spawned at the top of the mountain with your parachute still attached while picking up easy money from insane stunt bonuses! If you wish to keep the ability to never bail from the bike, just make your way down the challenge and lose the race. Who cares? You can now go wherever you want with a bike parachute and the ability to never fall off! Enjoy.

This happened to me too (the parachute-bike glitch) and before I read this. I was ontop of Chiliad and wanted to parachute down, but wanted to make it cool so I was going to hit the jump, bail and chute down. So I get the chute on, climb on the bike and the mission started. I figured 'oh well, i'll just do it later' and headed for the jump. Bunnyhopped off, bailed, pulled the cord, floated for a second and got respawned. I was like 'WTF'.

This reply is for you ok Psy, well for everyone but, mainly you. Add it to that new glitch update page. Tell everyone not to do the glitch with oozies or tech 9s, anything like that. Because you know how it awitches onto them when you get on a bike or motorcycle or car, well it does that on the glitch. I did it, and my hand weren't on the handle bars or anything. They were floating above my head like he was holding a parachute but he was on the bike. and the parachute part that connects to ur back went off his body into the air. Watch try it with tech 9s or something, so you can know exactly what I mean, then add it so a lot of people don't do the same thing. Btw nice glitch, Ima do it again with my oozies. Sweet glitch Psy, seems like fun. My damn Wal-Mart is STILL sold out this is getting annoying .... I'm just waiting for the clip to load so I can watch it. It's taking forever I've been playing SA @ my friends place and it kicks ass

Heh the first time I tried it I slightly underestimated the time it takes to respawn you to the top, failed to open my chute, resulting in a dead cj slumped on the mountain bike... you can still ride around for a short while as the 'wasted' screen hovers away...
Great glitch though, hope all goes well with the walkthroughs and such, cant wait.
