I'd just like to apologise to everyone for the recent downtime over the last 24 hours or so. I've been informed by my server provider that a system logging script was runing on the server which caused it to overload, however I have also been informed that the problem has been fixed and should not happen again. Having said that, if you've got anything to say regarding the uptime of this site, keep it shut. I don't care one bit, and I'm getting so annoyed by people complaning that I might take measures to prevent the amount of traffic I recieve. After all it's not "me" who is making the server crash, it's the thousands of visitors I get, and due to the fact I'm not hosted by some network with tons of advertising, I can't afford a server which will be way more than enough to host a site of this size and popularity.

As for what you missed while the server problems disrupted things... Nothing at all. Rather cool, don't you think, that Rockstar tell us the game has been delayed, then fail to give us ANY new information for the last 2 weeks or so... I for one have had enough of waiting around for news about a game, so you can expect other admins to be keeping the site news updated while I play the best game out at the moment, Call Of Duty: United Offensive. Obviously we're told the official site will be updated 'soon', but god knows when that will be. Stay tuned for updates, but don't expect them any time soon.

Yeah, isn't that comical? R* is yanking our chain...

I am sure that most of the people on this site understand about the"downtime"... I saw it as an opportunity to explore other web sites (as I have been spending almost all my time here).

No complaints from me, just a commendation on getting the site up so quickly biggrin.gif

Only bitches will be complaining...

As for updates, I've been busy with school, so I don't really give a fuck. Nobody's life should revolve around this damn game rolleyes.gif

But hopefully the fanboys could shutup about "The Update Is Coming XXXX" and then they could start repeat topics about "Did you see the new San Fierro update!" *sigh*

i thnk its great we have this site, downtime is annoying yes, but it would be worse without this site, those that complain need to thnk about if they would pay to keep this site on a proper server and support the amount of hits it gets, if no then stop complaing, running a website takes a lot of time and effort and money, which does not get helped by people slagging it off saying it should be online more often.

nice one Psy, you tell those whiny bitches off!! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Sure, downtime sucks, but that aint yo fault. The people who complain dont know what to do when a site isnt working......do something else. I also find it nice that the sponsors bit is unnoticiable. Fuck those who complain. Go on another site till the site is back up! or better yet, go outside and GET CRUNK!!! laugh.gif

hi psy i would like to say you are doing a great job on this site and it must be frustrating 4 you when your server gose's down on the site as for rockstar i agree with you they are not telling us the whole picture of why there has been no updates on the san andreas site 4 2 weeks and there exscuss of why the game has been delayed i think there is something rockstar is keeping from us they might reveal all the weeks running up to its relases or they might not we will see diespam.gif.This might not be ture but it might have something to do with a more quieter and smaller version of the ps2 bundled with gta san andreas which is realsed wait for it oct the 26 the same week as san andreas is relased do you think this is sonys idea of making more money out of us or a tactic due to the fact that halo2 for the xbox gets relased 2 weeks after san andreas let me know what you think pm me or anyboady else who reads this reply

In response to the post above, the PStwo is supposed to come out on Nov 1, not Oct 26th, so any conspiracy about it being bundled together is kind of unfounded, as most people who are going to buy san andreas will get it the week it comes out.

As for the downtime, don't worry about it. If anyone complains, they obviously have no idea about how much time, effort, and money it takes to run a decent website, and you manage to run a more than decent website. So, screw 'em.

In relpy to Scrotalwarts(hell of a name). The PStwo release date has been confirmed by many game mag's and gameing sites as the same date as San Andreas. The 26th. They all do say about the word of it being bundled with San Andreas. So that news is founded not unfounded.

It's a 100mb/s connection, and the site uses about 80mb/s.

Donations

GTA-SanAndreas.com grew too big to be hosted on the previous server, so Psy had to purchase his own server specifically for this site. Unfortunately it's costing a bit more than he can afford so he's looking to some of the site fans for help. If anyone out there can donate anything to the site, it would be greatly appreciated. It can be as small or large as you like however a certain target does have to be met each month. If it's not met with donations, advertising will have to be placed on the site, and it won't look as good as before. If you'd like to donate, click on the button below. Thanks.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PLAYSTATION®2 GETS STUNNING NEW LOOK Smaller, Slimmer and Network-Ready PlayStation 2 Hits Market Worldwide in November

TOKYO, September 21, 2004 Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced today its plans for the global release of a new, redesigned PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system (SCPH-70000 CB) in time for the year-end peak-selling season. The new model will be in stores on November 3 in Japan, and by November 1 in Europe and North America.

While inheriting the basic functions and design philosophy of the current PlayStation 2 (SCPH-50000), the internal design architecture of the new model has been completely overhauled, resulting in a slimmer and more lightweight form. Internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved, and thickness trimmed down to 2.8 cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around and enjoy games and DVD videos anytime, anywhere.

That's off of Sony's official site. So, you are wrong. No hint of a bundle either, is there. It doesn't make sense that Sony would bundle the PStwo with a NEW game, let alone one that's rated M, while keeping it $149.
