I'm not really sure if there is much difference at all. I don't think there are many games, if any, that take full advantage of a 64 bit processor. Most games are developed for a 32 bit OS so it doesn't make any difference as of now. I had Vista home prem 64bit on my gaming PC that I sold, and it worked great with all the games I played. Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 4, and Crysis, to name a few. I don't think you lose anything by installing the 64 bit version. You might have a harder time finding drivers for certain devices, but if they are all major brand name products they most likely will have 64 bit drivers. One thing you could do before you buy either one is check the manufacturer website for all your devices to make sure they all have 64 bit vista drivers. If they don't, then go with 32 bit vista. You won't really be gaining anything with a 64bit OS anyway. Maybe when windows 7 comes around 64 bit software might become more common. Right now there is barely any software that's designed to run on 64bit.

I would just go with the 32 bit.
pretty much what FrankCastle said, and I've experienced it first hand ... about 1/4 of the people in my graphics class can't use SolidWorks because the student version doesn't support 64bit Vista, so they have to use the slow shitty computers at school.

The EyeToy doesn't work with 64Bit yet either. That's a shame... Not sure about PS Eye though. I've been using that to record some little movies on my laptop recently, I love the thing.

the difference is that the 32bit won't read memory above 3 gigs, while the 64bit will...

not many games take advantage of 4 gigs either, so your generally right, no point in getting 64bit especially with all the problems it has.
