I voted the same as you did (person's role in society is to help those less fortunate, proud to be from nation x, but still like others) though I voted that religion is important to our country's heritage, and should be part of the future. The United States grants freedom of religion, but I don't think we should completely push it aside in politics. But still it's my own personal opinion.

Here's a thorough test that identifies your political position, if you can say any test does:

I cant answer one at a time, so Ill answer like this:

1st-
People should know their place in society
+
People have a duty towards one another to help those less fortunate

Examples: People should know not to do things that are way out of character like trying to fake their way through certain thoughts, beliefs, ways of life, etc.

People should help each other, but not in a help the homeless sort of way.

2nd-
I'm proud to be from x, but I like other nations, races and cultures

My race/ nation/ culture is supreme

Examples:
I am proud to be from America, but certain other cultures have things I seek or greatly respect, whether it be simple like someone's cuisine, like Indian food, or a warrior culture, like that of the Mujahadeen and others how they give up their lives to become 'warriors'. It is for gay religion mostly which is gay but regardless....

Superior? Yes, militarily, and some mentalities. Sure, other ways though, the complete opposite.

3rd-

No, it is a purely personal issue, the state should be secular

My votes.

1. "People have a duty towards one another to help those less fortunate". We can't all just do as we please, we need order (to one of the other options). If we don't help the less fortunate, modern society will become an even greater plutocratic turd than it is now (if that's possible).

2. "I'm proud to be from x, but I like other nations, races and cultures". I'm very proud of Australia, but living in this multicultural society has taught me to see all nations and cultures as signifigant.

3. "No, it is a purely personal issue, the state should be secular". Politicts is about facts. Religion is basicly the opostite to fact and in places like the one I live in, there are too many religions for them all to be involved in the politicts, and only using the most popular religion would start a riot.

Maybe you should have chosen the first answer as well because you stated it yourself, it is your own personal opinion.

I'm going to check out that one link in a second.

I don't like the choices for what do you think of your own nation.
We're all human; nations are irrelevant [ 5 ] ** [26.32%]
I'm proud to be from x, but I like other nations, races and cultures [ 12 ] ** [63.16%]
I'm proud to be from x, and I'm not interested in other nations, races and cultures [ 2 ] ** [10.53%]
My race/ nation/ culture is supreme [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]
other

I mean, it seems your implying that if you don't "like" other nations, races and cultures then your not interested in them.

For instants, I don't like Iran, but i am interested in it.

Also... Anyone who voted nations are irrelevant... i'd like to see you back that up with empirical evidence. Or... any evidence, actually.

In the United States, I seldom see facts butting their head into politics. Politics is about identity, religion is about identity.

I disagree. Politics is not about identity. Politics is a process. Political affiliation is more about identity. Religion is generally about identity, so I agree for the most part there, though affiliation fine-tunes the identity part of that.

Well, I cannot back that up empirically because I've lived in the USA my entire life, but I've visited nations overseas that are not America yet feel similar in the democratic system and free economy they offer. So, if they offer that, nations are irrelevant to me. Only the systems matter to me.

Everyone should know their place, my race/nation is surpreme, religion should be removed from government.

The options for nations sucked, as my answer doesn't properly reflect my views.

Well I didn't vote for it but here's the evidence.

The 'nation' is an imagined idea used to bond the people of a geographical region together; creating common characteristics rather than having an instinctive solidarity. So you get the fact that Scottish kilt wearing and all the rest of it is a 19th Century construct... The 'nation' was only truly introduced when the nation-state came in to being; when government was by the people, for the people rather than in the intrests of a ruling monarchy, in which case it was the kingdom that the subjects were loyal to, not the nation. So the nation-state would have started around Cromwellian England/ revolutionary France.

Being as it is a constructed ideal, I can see why people think it's irrelevant. Marxists went around France and Germany when war broke out in 1914 saying 'you Fritz you're a poor miner who gets fucked by the capitalists. Why are you fighting Jean over there who is exactly the same?'.
